FLIGHT FROM MAYHAM BY YASMINE GALENORN

flight from mayhem cover
New York Times bestselling author Yasmine Galenorn presents the second Fly by Night novel, set in the realm of the Otherworld.

I’m Shimmer, a blue dragon shifter. Thanks to a mistake, I was exiled from the Dragon Reaches and sentenced to work for gorgeous, exasperating Alex Radcliffe, a vampire who owns the Fly by Night Magical Investigations Agency. Every time I turn around, somebody’s trying to kill us. But you know what they say: All’s fair in love and bounty hunting…

A serial killer is stalking the elderly Fae of Seattle, draining their bank accounts before brutally murdering them. When Chase Johnson asks for our help, Alex and I discover that the sociopath is also a shifter—able to change shape to match his victim’s deepest desires. Our friend and colleague Bette volunteers to act as bait, but the plan goes dangerously awry. Now, unless we find her first, she’s about to face her worst nightmare.

From the Paperback edition.

Flight from Mayhem (Fly by Night) is an awesome book! The characters and story line is very well-developed. When Shimmer and the others delve into a case where someone is killing older Fae and stealing their money. One of their own is put into danger. They will face something they have never seen before. They cannot believe everything they see, for the shifter can take on the life of anyone. Also, the house across the street has a mystery that they have to solve to help the ghost stuck there. I loved this book and series, and recommend it to everyone. I give FLIGHT FROM MAYHEM 5/5 STARS.

Blood of the Earth (A Soulwood Novel) is a great start to a new series! This is a spin-off of the Jane Yellowrock series. I have not read a book by Faith Hunter that I did not like. I don’t think she could write a bad novel! Rick LaFleur shows up on Nell’s doorstep per Jane’s referral.   His clues to the where about of the Nashville Blood Master. It has led him to the cult that Nell had once belonged to not far from her property that she lives at. I love the characters in this book, and seeing Lafleur and the others that are with him.  When I started this book, I could not put it down. If you have not enjoyed a Faith Hunter book, I urge you to go out and get your copy today. You will not be disappointed. I give BLOOD OF THE EARTH 5/5 STARS.

MIDNIGHT MARKED is an action packed masterpiece! I love Chloe Neill’s writing style. I haven’t read any of her books in this series until November of last year. I read the first book and I was hooked. I started to binge read the whole series up to the last booked published. At least I only had a couple of months to wait for the chance to read MIDNIGHT MARKED. I cannot get enough of Merit and Ethan and the Cadogan House gang. This book starts out with Ethan and a few others taking Merit to a night Cubs game. She is so excited about going to the game that she wants to get there in time so she won’t miss the free Cubs flashlight that they are giving away. As usual, things don’t go as planned. Merit feels someone using magic and has to find where it originated. When she gets there she finds the body of a dead shifter. This starts a mad dash around the city to find out who is wielding magic in the city, and why are they going after shifters. This case puts a strain on the Shifter and Vampire relations. This is such a great story and series, and I recommend it to everyone. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for Merit and Ethan. I give MIDNIGHT MARKED 5/5 stars.

REVIEW- BOUNDARY LINES BY MELISSA F. OLSON

boundary linesFitting into the Old World isn’t going very well for Boulder boundary witch Allison “Lex” Luther: she may have earned a place in a vampire’s service, but now it seems as if every supernatural creature in town has found a reason to hate her. And when Lex and her partner are assigned to investigate the suspicious disappearance of two vampires during the night of the full moon, they find themselves with more questions than answers.

Was it murder…or mutiny?

The crusade for answers will lead Lex all over the Colorado Old World, from a prison cell for a broken werewolf to a haunted Denver brothel. And when Lex determines the responsible party, the hunt is just beginning: something has been awakened in Boulder, something as old and powerful as it is terrifying. Only the woman with death in her blood can stop what’s coming.

BOUNDARY LINES grabbed me from the very first. This is the second book in the series, and the first book I have read of the series. I will definitely go back and read the first book. The characters and story very well crafted.  Allison “Lex” Luther is a boundary witch. Her magic deals with the boundary between death and life, and the other witches basically don’t want anything to do with her. They are afraid of what her magic does. Her magic has brought her back from the dead on several occasions. One time when she was younger, she drowned, and her magic brought her back. The most recent was her tour in the middle east in the military, when their convoy was hit by an IED. Everyone died, including her. Now she has to find out why magic has gone wonky in town. She will find out things about herself that she could not remember from her time of the IED attack. I love this book, and I give BOUNDARY LINES 5/5 STARS.

Now Juliana and Nathaniel are going undercover in Kansas City to see who is involved in these deaths. She will have to do it without telling Thomas, because it is in a rival Vampires town.
