After training at the PsyLED academy, Nell returns home to her woods to find the land feeling sick and restless. And that sickness is spreading. Curse on the Land (A Soulwood Novel) is phenomenal!! Nell has grown some since the last book. Things have gotten weird. They are called out when a group of ducks are found swimming in a constant circle and others are coming up dead. Nell’s power is getting stronger and she has to learn to use it as she goes along, but when a curse is put on the land, she better learn fast. With the full moon coming up in a few days, things will start to get hairy and she might be a few people short on the case. I loved the ending with Rick, and that is all I will say about it. I love Faith’s writing and the way she presents Nell’s world. The world building is flawless. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for Nell and the gang next. If you have not picked up a Faith Hunter book, then you don’t know what you are missing. Go out and get your copy today!! I loved this book and give  CURSE ON THE LAND 5/5 STARS.

Blood of the Earth (A Soulwood Novel) is a great start to a new series! This is a spin-off of the Jane Yellowrock series. I have not read a book by Faith Hunter that I did not like. MIDNIGHT MARKED is an action packed masterpiece! I love Chloe Neill’s writing style. I haven’t read any of her books in this series until November of last year. I read the first book and I was hooked. I started to binge read the whole series up to the last booked published. At least I only had a couple of months to wait for the chance to read MIDNIGHT MARKED. I cannot get enough of Merit and Ethan and the Cadogan House gang. This book starts out with Ethan and a few others taking Merit to a night Cubs game. She is so excited about going to the game that she wants to get there in time so she won’t miss the free Cubs flashlight that they are giving away. As usual, things don’t go as planned. Merit feels someone using magic and has to find where it originated. When she gets there she finds the body of a dead shifter. This starts a mad dash around the city to find out who is wielding magic in the city, and why are they going after shifters. This case puts a strain on the Shifter and Vampire relations. This is such a great story and series, and I recommend it to everyone. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for Merit and Ethan. I give MIDNIGHT MARKED 5/5 stars.

REVIEW- BOUNDARY LINES BY MELISSA F. OLSON

boundary linesFitting into the Old World isn’t going very well for Boulder boundary witch Allison “Lex” Luther: she may have earned a place in a vampire’s service, but now it seems as if every supernatural creature in town has found a reason to hate her. And when Lex and her partner are assigned to investigate the suspicious disappearance of two vampires during the night of the full moon, they find themselves with more questions than answers.

Was it murder…or mutiny?

The crusade for answers will lead Lex all over the Colorado Old World, from a prison cell for a broken werewolf to a haunted Denver brothel. And when Lex determines the responsible party, the hunt is just beginning: something has been awakened in Boulder, something as old and powerful as it is terrifying. Only the woman with death in her blood can stop what’s coming.

BOUNDARY LINES grabbed me from the very first. This is the second book in the series, and the first book I have read of the series. I will definitely go back and read the first book. The characters and story very well crafted.  Allison “Lex” Luther is a boundary witch. Her magic deals with the boundary between death and life, and the other witches basically don’t want anything to do with her. They are afraid of what her magic does. Her magic has brought her back from the dead on several occasions. One time when she was younger, she drowned, and her magic brought her back. The most recent was her tour in the middle east in the military, when their convoy was hit by an IED. Everyone died, including her. Now she has to find out why magic has gone wonky in town. She will find out things about herself that she could not remember from her time of the IED attack. I love this book, and I give BOUNDARY LINES 5/5 STARS.
