With the Hope Diamond locked around her throat, Jesse Alexander finds herself in the unfortunate position of being a walking national treasure. Unfortunately, the stone has a mind—and plans—of its own. Add in a determined tiger, a wolf out for revenge, and an ultimatum to find her clan’s missing Starfall stone, and it will take all of Jesse’s wit and cunning to survive with her life—and her heart—intact.

SYNOPSIS

Archangel Uriel is hell bent on revenge on the demon prince Vladek. To get into the prince’s impenetrable fortress, he’ll have to fight in the pits of the underworld. And he’ll need the help of the last person he can trust––the demon witch Nadya.

There is no way Nadya, who spends her days taking care of others, expected to find Uriel on her doorstep. He seems no happier about being there than she does. But helping him means evening the scales against her backstabbing sister, and she’ll do whatever it takes to make that bitch pay.

Using the fight pit circuits in the demon underworld, Nadya helps Uriel combat his way to the arena at the castle in Russia. Only she isn’t what she seems. As a matter of fact, she may hold the key to his redemption…and to his heart.

EXCERPT : Uriel

Ludvik took my wrist in one hand and my opponent’s wrist in the other before announcing the standard, “Only body and blades in the ring. Fight till you die. Or survive.”

The voice of Yorick echoing through the speakers of the hall crooned over the masses. “Tonight, we have a special guest. To challenge our champion Mastok the Marauder, we have Uriel the Archangel!”

Sudden raucous yells erupted from the audience. I heard what I’d expected from some of the jeering crowd.

“Kill the angel!”

“Break his wings!”

“Take off his pretty head!” one demoness in the front row yelled with spittle flying.

Fuel to the fire, my friends. They had no idea what had been building inside of me since the day I’d been taken captive by Vladek and restrained by his putrid essence and by Lisabette’s blood rites and black magic. It would all be unleashed tonight.

“Let the games begin!” shouted Yorick, then the maestro waved his arms.

The orchestra swelled suddenly, joined by a chorus in the left balcony that I hadn’t noticed. A few of them were seraphs, but mostly humans. Throat collars with chains binding them one to the other kept them in place. All slaves to this bastard, Yorick.

“To the death,” grunted Ludvik, smirking at me before letting our wrists go.

The behemoth circled away from me, but I stood perfectly still.

I recognized the music building with spine-chilling accuracy. “O Fortuna” from the cantata Carmina Burana. The Latin voices and strings rang with staccato perfection. The haunting lyrics vibrated straight to my soul, opening it wide for the words to take on new meaning. Words penned by defrocked monks now long dead sang straight to my heart. Oh, yes. Lady Fortune had been undeservingly cruel, blasting me with one disaster after another, enslaving my soul with despair, bringing me to my knees and expelling me out of hell so that I could stand on this stage and take my revenge.

As my soon-to-be first kill continued to circle me like a menacing predator, his sinister grin having zero effect, I glanced one more time up to the top balcony, capturing her look of mingling worry and fear and another heady emotion no woman had ever held in her eyes for me. I pressed it all inside my chest and turned to the monster crouching for a strike.

Let it all begin.

Night's Kiss cover

Night's Kiss teaser 1

SYNOPSIS

As a human who hunts vampires, I risk death each night I take to the streets. Bloodsuckers are stupidly fast. I have only my wits, my practice, and my weapons.

Oh yeah, and my rage.

Vampires killed my parents before my eyes when I was young. My revenge? I’ll destroy every last one of the evil bastards, starting with their king.

But only one man can help me locate the king. Achingly tall, dark, and too-sexy-for-his-own-good, Ryker is gorgeous enough to be the vamp king himself. But the devilish arch to his black eyebrow, his white, unfangy grin, and rocking the daytime are good clues that he’s human.

We’ll have to work together as uneasy allies if I hope to get my final revenge on the king—only now it seems evil monsters are also after our prey, and they’ll stop at nothing to see us all dead. And why are they having so much trouble finding the king?

Each book in the Ancients series is STANDALONE:
* Night’s Caress
* Night’s Kiss

EXCERPT

Ryker slashed at the vamp the same moment I’d stabbed. We hit blades with a force that made my teeth jar together.

“Don’t get in my way!” We yelled it at each other.

The gold-bar monster grabbed my throat. I froze, breath rasping in my trachea. His hand clamped my neck armor, so I wasn’t immediately dead, but once he peeled it away, my tasty carotid was his for the taking.

Before he could, Ryker slashed the vamp’s forearm, severing everything the monster needed to hold me. Clawed fingers fell from my neck. Ryker was already attacking another monster with precise, sweeping cuts of my talwar.

Graceful, deadly. His skill a thing of beauty. My breath stopped the barest instant.

“You may know vampires,” he said between slashes. “I know the king. If we work together…”

Together. I got an unwanted burst of pleasure at that.

“I lead,” he finished.

“You?” Pleasure exploded into annoyance. I slapped my sword Joyce into her sheath, freeing up my hands for the test tube of ruby vamp-dissolving serum. I popped out the cork. “How much vampire tracking have you done?”

Cut arm dangling, Mr. Gold-Bar gave up subtle and lunged at me fangs first. Feinting back, I tossed a couple drops of serum into his terrifying maw. They splashed in.

Gold-bar swallowed in surprise. Ryker raised a questioning brow an instant before he got distracted by a beefy vampire’s attack. I capped the tube, hoping the stuff did its thing even if the vampire wasn’t “mostly dead.”

The gold-bar sucker swallowed again—and clapped his good arm over his midsection. Alexis’s serum was evidently going to give him a good case of indigestion.

“The king isn’t your average vampire.” Ryker wrenched on the talwar, which he’d managed to get stuck in the beefy sucker’s throat. “A little help here?” Mr. I-Lead do-si-doed with the vamp, the blade not moving an inch. With a roar, the vampire raised claws to strike.

“Oh, now you need me.” I was already in motion to help him, drawing Joyce.

A pair of vampires lunged for me—or where I’d been. They smacked behind me like a couple of Stooges.

“I don’t need anyone.” Ryker snaked a long arm out the moment I was within reach—and snatched a stake from my fringe. “But I could use this.”

I jerked back. “That won’t do you any good!” Again, the sudden change twisted up the attacking pair, who bonked heads and reeled around for a moment. “Not without a sledgehammer to pound it through supernaturally hard bone.”

“Preternatural.” Ryker reared back then rammed the stake into the beefy monster’s breast, nearly to the hilt.

“What…?”

The vamp’s eyes went wide. I’m sure mine were as round. Ryker wasn’t simply bench-press strong, he was warhead strong. My lips parted as a delicious heat plumed inside me.

Doused when he said, “Their strength is preternatural. Not supernatural.”

“Do you have to work hard to be this annoying?”

He twinkled a smile at me. “Just naturally talented.”

Despite myself, a laugh bubbled up. I turned away before he could see it.

During Starfall, magic flooded the Earth and destroyed most technology while humans developed strange new powers. As the scion of a male-dominated clan, Jesse should have risen to become a hero.
One disastrous choice ruins her hopes for the future.
To forget about her life as an assassin, she heads to the dying coasts of Florida. Unfortunately, a chance encounter with a Starfall stone and the Siberian tiger shifter after it thrusts her into the limelight. Escaping Nate’s sights is only the beginning of her woes.
When two dangerous Starfall stones are stolen, it’s up to Jesse to recover them. Should she fail, she’ll only be the first to succumb to the rogue stones’ powers.

Excerpt:

Most men hated when I defied them. My opponent waited, intriguing me when he hesitated to force me out of his way so he could take what he wanted. Men liked to think they ruled, and in their opinion, the strongest men got the best women, and that was that.

Wise men realized some women conquered their own mountains and tossed off every man who challenged them.

One day, I’d figure out where I stood in the grand scheme of things. I’d been raised to be a man, a warrior above other men, the strength and pride of my clan. I should have become a man when I had turned ten, but thanks to my stupidity, I had ended up a woman instead.

Remembering pissed me off enough I either needed another beer, a fight, or both.

“Move.”

The bar cleared out, and Petey numbered among those bailing. I arched a brow, shrugged, and reached across the bar to snag myself another beer, careful not to touch the Starfall stone. “When I’m done drinking my beer, I’ll move.”

Within a minute, Oyster Bay emptied, leaving me with the three cloaked figures and a man at the other end of the bar too stupid to run or too brave for his own good. When he spotted me looking in his direction, he lifted his bottle in a salute.

Men were a dime a dozen, but sometimes, a pretty one came around, and my flavor of the month was tall, dark, and handsome enough to remind me there were a few perks to being a woman. He smirked at me, likely anticipating the fireworks from the stone or the brewing fight between me and the three men who wanted it.

I liked his mouth, and my gaze locked on his lips before I managed to force my attention back to my trio of unwanted guests.

Outside, thunder rumbled, rain pattered on the bar’s metal roof, and the storm stirred the ocean’s ire, splashing salt water against my feet.

“Move.” The man took one step forward, and his voice remained emotionless and calm.

“Cheers,” I said, lifting my bottle towards my lone spectator. If he wanted a show, I’d give him one, and when I was finished with the three men determined to invade my personal space, I’d leave him a little memento to remember me by. I scooted my stool back, stepped into the water, and met my adversary’s gaze.

I set my beer down beside the Starfall stone. “You’re not going to let me finish my beer in peace, are you?”

He took another step and leaned forward, his breath hot on my face. “No.”

Walking away would’ve been smart. Leaving the Starfall stone to burst and cause mayhem without me in the general vicinity would have been wise. Instead, I unsheathed my sword and rammed the pommel into his gut.

I smiled and went to work. All I’d leave for him were bruises and his life. He didn’t deserve anything else from me, not even a scar.
