SNARED- BLOG TOUR

Excerpt:

Sure enough, Damian Rivera had come home early from his charity dinner. He looked the same as in all the glamour shots on the fireplace mantel—black hair, perfect teeth, trim figure poured into an expensive gray suit. The only things that the airbrushed photos didn’t show were the red flush that stained his bronze cheeks and his slow, exaggerated movements. Someone had already had a few too many.

And he was intent on having even more. Rivera tossed back his Scotch and poured himself another, filling his glass almost to the top, like he was dying of thirst. He took another healthy swallow, draining half of the Scotch, before turning and gesturing at someone.

“Well, don’t just stand out there,” he said, his voice a deep, suave purr. “Come in and have a drink.”

A long-suffering sigh sounded, and another man stepped into my line of sight. With his black hair and expensive suit, he could have been an older, fifty-something clone of Damian Rivera, if not for the black goatee that clung to his chin and the displeased pucker of his lips. And unlike Rivera’s sloppy state, this man’s black eyes were sharp and clear and fixed in a cold, flat stare that I knew all too well.

Hugh Tucker, the Circle’s number one vampire enforcer and my nemesis.

About SNARED:
If you don’t know Gin “the Spider” Blanco, you don’t know dangerous female heroines.

Irony 101—The Spider herself snared in someone else’s web…

Another week, another few clues trickling in about the Circle, the mysterious group that supposedly runs the city’s underworld. Gathering intel on my hidden enemies is a painstaking process, but a more immediate mystery has popped up on my radar: a missing girl.

My search for the girl begins on the mean streets of Ashland, but with all the killers and crooks in this city, I’m not holding out much hope that she’s still alive.

A series of clues leads me down an increasingly dark, dangerous path, and I realize that the missing girl is really just the first thread in this web of evil. As an assassin, I’m used to facing down the worst of the worst, but nothing prepares me for this new, terrifying enemy—one who strikes from the shadows and is determined to make me the next victim.

REVIEW

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley for an honest review.

Unraveled (Elemental Assassin) is an awesome addition to the series! The characters are continually growing. With each book we get more of a look at Gin’s past and how it has made her into the person she is today. When a mob boss comes to Gin to help find her sister who has went missing, brings her to the people who were behind her mothers death. Some of Gin’s questions will be answered, but she will end up with more questions. I love Jennifer Estep’s writing style! I am never disappointed with a book by Jennifer Estep.  I recommend this book and series to everyone. I give SNARED 5/5 STARS.

Jennifer Estep’s NICE GUYS BITE book blast!

nice-guys-bite-cover

Book info:

Title: NICE GUYS BITE (Elemental Assassin #15.5)

Format: e-novella

Author: Jennifer Estep

NICE GUYS BITE takes place after the events of UNRAVELED (#15). It is told from the point of view of Silvio Sanchez, Gin’s personal assistant.

Working for Gin Blanco (aka the Spider, the assassin who runs the Ashland underworld) doesn’t leave much time for romance, especially with Gin’s holiday party planning in full swing. But when he catches the eye of a charming gentleman, Silvio finds himself going out for coffee.

All’s fair in love and war, though. Just as Silvio is starting to enjoy himself, he realizes he’s being watched. His nice-guy date doesn’t sense the danger, and Silvio wants to keep it that way (and, well, keep the guy alive) so Silvio ends the date early—only to be abducted by some villainous giants.

Will Silvio survive the night and make it back to the Pork Pit in time for Gin’s holiday party? Only if he decks the hall with bodies …

UNRAVELED BLOG TOUR

SPIDER

About UNRAVELED:
What could go wrong when you’re trying to unravel a decades-old conspiracy?

As the current queen of the Ashland underworld, you would think that I, Gin Blanco, would know all about some secret society controlling things from behind the scenes. I might be the Spider, the city’s most fearsome assassin, but all my Ice and Stone elemental magic hasn’t done me a lick of good in learning more about “the Circle”. Despite my continued investigations, the trail’s gone as cold as the coming winter.

So when Finnegan Lane, my foster brother, gets word of a surprising inheritance, we figure why not skip town for someplace less dangerous for a few days? That place: Bullet Pointe, a fancy hotel resort complex plus Old West theme park that Finn now owns lock, stock, and barrel. At first, all the struttin’ cowboys and sassy saloon girls are just hokey fun. But add in some shady coincidences and Circle assassins lurking all around, and vacationing becomes wilder—and deadlier—than any of us expected.

Good thing this assassin brought plenty of knives to the gunfight…

Excerpt!
UNRAVELED –

Since Fedora was already past the gate, I didn’t have time to ease out of the van, sneak through the shadows, and stab the giants in the back the way I normally would have.

Thus I kicked my door open, barreled out of the vehicle, and started running down the street toward the SUV.

“Gin! Wait!” Phillip shouted, scrambling to get out and follow me.

But I needed to get to the man in the mansion before Fedora did, so I tuned him out. The giants whirled around at the sound of Phillip’s voice and spotted me racing toward them. They cursed, pulled guns out from underneath their trench coats, and snapped up the weapons.

Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!

I zigzagged, and the first round of bullets went wide. But when the giants paused to take more careful aim, I reached for my Stone magic and hardened my skin into an impenetrable shell.

Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!

The second round of bullets also went wide. The giants had come prepared, and the silencers on the ends of their weapons muffled the sounds of the shots. No lights snapped on inside the neighboring mansions. They wanted to keep this quiet, well, so did I.

Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!

Two of the bullets went wide, but the third punched into my right shoulder, spinning me around. Still, thanks to my magic, it didn’t blast through me the way it would have otherwise. I skidded on the ice coating the street, but I managed to regain my balance and charge forward again.

REVIEW

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley for an honest review.

Unraveled (Elemental Assassin) is a roller coaster of a ride! The characters and story line is very well-developed. The Scooby gang, Gin, Fin, Owen, and Bria, go to check out the inheritance that his mother supposedly left him. Fin apparently inherited an Old West Theme Park. Now can you picture Gin in an Old West Theme Park? Me either! When they get there, Gin thinks she sees a member of the Circle. Could the Theme Park be a front for the Circle? As you know, every time Gin and the gang plan a vacation, things don’t always work out. Gin always ends up with bodies piling up everywhere she goes. This is no different. This book has all of Gin’s sass, grit, and snarkyness. If you have not read this series I highly recommend it. I recommend this book to everyone. I give UNRAVELED 5/5 STARS.

UNWANTED BY JENNIFER ESTEP

The New York Times bestselling Elemental Assassin series continues with a new e-novella–from the point of view of Finnegan Lane, the foster brother of Gin Blanco, and a fan favorite of readers of the series.

The fallout from his disastrous “family reunion” in Bitter Bite has left Finn feeling hurt, angry, and depressed. He can barely stand to look at himself in the mirror, much less eat any of the delicious barbecue from Gin’s famed Pork Pit restaurant.

But when the funeral for a slain security guard at his bank turns into a showdown with some nasty underworld giants, Finn knows that he must act in order to protect an innocent family.

Finnegan Lane might be the most unwanted man in Ashland these days, but he’s determined to try to make amends for his past mistakes…

BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley  for an honest review.

Unwanted (Elemental Assassin) is a novella starting up right after BITTER BITE. It focuses on Finn and what he is going through in the aftermath of his Mother trying to rob the bank he works for. His co-workers are shunning, and blaming him for the deaths of the security guards that were killed during the robbery. When he finds out that the wife of one of the slain guards needs help, he  puts his special skills to work. I love Finn and when I saw the way his co-workers treat him the way they did, I just wanted to give him a big hug. I love THE ELEMENTAL ASSASSIN SERIES and cannot wait for the next book in the series. I give UNWANTED 5/5 stars.
