The Pursuit of Wisdom, Knowledge, Spiritual Power, and the Minds of God
Through Multiplism
Nonfiction / Spiritual / Self-Help
If art imitates life, this book imitates the artist’s mind.
Specifically an artist that has surrendered most of their natural born life
to the arts. As the decades change so does the style of the art and their
philosophy of how they approach their medium. This book follows the
artist’s transformation and expression of that art in correlation to
the influences, both external and internal, over a lifetime of study. The
influence is sometimes physical and direct, other times more seemingly
abstract and metaphysical. And it continually revisits the question, how in
control are we, or is there something bigger at work? Are we bound to repeat
history or do we always have the power to change our path? The author
provides anecdotes that seem to answer the text’s questions directly, and at
other times stir the ambiguity. At the same time, the format of the book as
an anthology allows for it to rest on any coffee table and be cracked open
at any page to enjoy a slice of the larger thought-pie.
EXCERPT
A: “At the beginning of 2000, the bubble burst and the stock market crashed with prices tumbling from the 100s to below 10. I lost everything, and was ruined financially[…] Nonetheless, the overwhelming feeling of failure and regret consumed me. The ego and ambition that was cultivated and thrived for decades was siphoned from my core. The ensuing stress and depression darkened my world and transformed me into a babbling misery, reliant on drinking to cope. Self-worth was growing foreign to me. Anger and fear fueled my thoughts and words. I would walk alone. I would holler alone. When it came to me wanting to talk to others, self-doubt was tethered to every thought. I felt like a zombie, about to cave in on themselves.”
A: “Everyone should allot some time each year to regeneration, regardless of the occurrence of failure. This allotment of time should be meant for reassessing goals and your relationship with God so you can emerge the following year with enough energy and strength to excel on that scale of success in which life is measured. Some of us fail, run out of energy, and wear out from the tribulations of life. But those who fail are essentially failing to step back and assess the larger picture. If we all take this time to revitalize ourselves, our lives will come back to us with greater use.”
