Synopsis: The conclusion to Caleb and Isabelle’s story…

Everything is going as planned, for the most part. With school, the club, and new responsibilities on the horizon, the life Caleb and Isabelle imagined together is so close they can taste it. But their happiness is also a fragile one–all it takes is one wrong turn, one stupid decision and their happily ever after shatters all over the highway.

Because as old threats resurface and new ones rise, the most deadly enemy of all lies not in outside forces, but inside the club itself. How do you follow orders when you know those orders might destroy everything you love? How do you move forward when all your best-laid plans slip right through your fingertips?

Choice breeds consequence. Hope rises from the ashes. Love weathers any storm. And in the end, every road leads home.

**Carry You Home is not a standalone and is the sequel to Carry Your Heart. It is intended for readers 18 and older**

Excerpt

Caleb

“Can I make you dinner tonight?”

She laughed and I had to steel all my control just so I didn’t ruin this moment by kissing her again. “Can I help?”

My eyes widened and my mind immediately jumped back to every single one of Isabelle’s cooking disasters in the past. Chicken, spaghetti, lasagna, even homemade pizza—each one more horrific and traumatizing than the last.

“You know, Iz, I think my stomach’s finally recovered from your cooking. Maybe—ow!” I ducked when she swatted at me again.

“Oh, shut up,” she laughed again. “It wasn’t that bad.”

I just cocked an eyebrow her way. Enough said.

Her eyes lifted to the ceiling and she sighed. “Okay, fine. Maybe it was that bad, but I’m much better now. I can actually make an entire meal without getting anybody sick or burning down my kitchen.”

“Tempting,” I held my hands up. “But you’re my guest. I’m gonna cook for you whether you like it or not.”

“Oh boy,” she muttered under her breath and whether I liked it or not, she sank down right onto my bed.

To be fair, there really wasn’t anywhere else to sit, but I still wasn’t prepared for the sight of her sitting there, waiting for…something. I took that as my cue to get my ass to work and after a quick inventory of what little food I had in my barely-existent kitchen, I got down to business. Isabelle observed me with careful curiosity as I got the sauce going and mixed up some batter before tossing the chicken in.

She leaned over my shoulder to inhale the aroma of tomatoes and Italian spices and her eyes widened. “Wow, that smells amazing. Since when do you know how to make chicken parmigiana?”

“Since always,” I tossed back. “You just never got a chance to try it because you were too busy trying to kill us with salmonella.”

She smacked me on the shoulder and shook her head, muttering, “Asshole.”

“You know,” I wagged my marinara-stained spoon at her as I spoke. “How have you managed to survive all these years anyway?”

“Just fine, thank you very much,” she shot back. “I took some cooking classes and everything. But I guess some of us go grocery shopping a little more than others.”

I laughed as I dumped the sauce and a shitload of mozzarella cheese on top of the chicken and shoved the dish in the oven. Little did she know that Saul kept all the fridges stocked—the one in our break room downstairs and the one in my apartment. Whatever he bought, I cooked.

When I turned back to her, I leaned up against the edge of the counter with my arms folded across my chest.

“So you’ve got cooking classes, a kick-ass art studio, the fancy apartment, and a dog,” I surmised.

“Hey, I can take care of myself. You don’t even know the half of it. If anybody ever messed with me, I could totally take ‘em.”

“Oh really?” I cocked an eyebrow at her.

“Yep. You think Coop’s all I got? I have a bat under my bed, I carry a knife in my purse, and I took a self-defense class with one of the assistants at the gallery a few years ago. I got a certificate from the class and everything. It’s official—I’m a real badass.”

“Huh.”

While part of me was impressed, and a little turned on by the idea of her wielding a bat, the idea of her in an apartment all by herself didn’t sit well with me. I didn’t even want to think about any times when she hadn’t been by herself, if she’d had anybody with her for the night…

“So, you know,” she went on lightly. “If you need any protection, you know which girl to call.”

That got my attention and I pushed off the counter to crowd her space a little, willingly playing along. “What makes you think I need your protection?”

“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe the fact that you’ve got at least two guns here somewhere you’re not supposed to have.”

I cocked a playful eyebrow at her, liking the turn this conversation had taken. “Oh really?”

“Yeah, you haven’t seen my moves,” she laughed, grinning up at me like we were the only two people in the world and nothing else around us existed.

“Alright, alright,” I pivoted around her to put some space between us and motioned toward myself with both hands. “Bring it. Show me what you got, Martin.”

Her head tipped back as she laughed and waved her hands in front of her. “Your funeral. But this only works if you come at me.”

My lips twisted into a wolfish grin. Yeah, I definitely liked where this was headed. When I took a few confident steps into her personal space, her hands came down to rest lightly on my shoulders, putting just enough pressure on them to keep me from moving any closer.

“So if you were coming at me from the front,” she breathed, her voice thick and husky. “I would probably bring my knee up like this.”

When her knee lifted up to my groin, just enough to brush up against my jeans, her lips twisted into a knowing, almost powerful smirk. Her knee lingered there for a few agonizing moments, moving up and down with enough sweet pressure to elicit a low growl from me.

“What else would you do?” I murmured into her hair.

“I’d probably go for your knee next,” she whispered up at me. With that, the tortured pressure left from between my legs and she playfully tapped my right knee with her left foot, twisting her hip to press into my knee from a side angle.

“That’s not a bad move,” I chuckled hoarsely.

“I think it’s pretty effective,” she retorted, even though my hand was already making a leisurely trail from her ankle right up to the inside of her thigh. When my fingers skimmed around the curve of her hip, her eyes fluttered shut at the light contact. I wouldn’t let things go much further than this, but for now? I’d let us have some fun.

“Anything else you’d do?”

“Blunt objects are good too,” she murmured, her eyes still squeezed shut. “I could always hit you over the head with my phone or stab you with my keys or something.”

A low chuckle erupted from my throat and I placed a featherlight kiss on her neck, reveling in the taste and the feeling of her sweet skin underneath my mouth. Using my hands to guide her where to go, I turned her around so that her back rested against my chest.

“What if I came at you from behind, huh?” I hummed into her ear. “What would you do then?”

Her breath was coming in more haggard now and I suspected it had a lot to do with the fact that my hands had curved around her waist, teasing her into doing exactly what I wanted.

“I’d probably do something like this,” she pushed out roughly, lifting her left leg up to lightly tap the inside of my foot with her heel. That small amount of pressure against my foot was enough momentum for her to arch her hips right into my jeans, offering up sweet payback with just a little bit of friction.

“Uh huh,” I groaned into her hair, digging my fingers even deeper into her soft skin. “That’s pretty good, too. Anything else?”

“Maybe this,” Isabelle whispered as her right arm reached up over her head and touched her elbow to my cheek. A moment later, her arm continued its ascent and wrapped around my neck, skimming up to run along the buzzed edges of my hair.

“I like your hair like this,” she murmured in my ear.

“Yeah?”

It would be so easy to take this opportunity, one she was giving me so willingly, and let my fingers do exactly what they knew how to do, but we were both too vulnerable right now, too emotional and raw, for this to go much further. But after tonight? That was a different story.

“Hey, Caleb?” Isabelle’s voice called out to me, pulling me from the push and pull of my thoughts. “Do you smell something burning?”

I jerked out of her arms and sped right to the stove, waving away the billows of smoke wafting from it. Oh shit. Of fucking course. When I opened the stove, only to be met with more smoke and the horrible stench of salty, burnt cheese, it only confirmed it: I’d epically screwed up dinner.

My eyes narrowed on Isabelle, who’d all but collapsed on my bed in a fit of laughter. “You distracted me on purpose.”

That just made her double over with more laughter. “I swear I didn’t! You messed up all by yourself.”

I threw a hand towel down on the floor. “Oh, that’s it.”

When I advanced on her, she leapt off the bed and scampered playfully into my bathroom, yelping when I wrapped my arms around her waist and hauled her back into the main room. I tossed her lightly onto the bed and even as she laughed, she’d never looked more beautiful. Her hair fanned out on my comforter, all spread out and waiting for me to run my fingers through it, and all I wanted to do was fall onto the bed with her and let it happen.

But I pulled myself back, firm in my resolve to respect the little bit of room she’d given me to move here.

So I ran a hand over my head and blew out a deep breath as she sat up on her elbows, waiting for me to make the next move.

“What should we do now?” she asked, her breath still coming in and out in short rasps.

Pretty soon she’ll be back where she belongs, I promised myself. Just not tonight.

If she stayed on my bed like this any longer, I’d…and then my mouth quirked up.

“I got an idea, Iz.”

Carry Your Heart, #1
Publication Date: July 14, 2015
Genres: Adult, Contemporary Romance, New Adult, MC

Synopsis: When Isabelle Martin steps onto Sawyer Auto Repair’s parking lot, she can’t believe it’s come to this. After dropping out of a school she never really wanted to go to in the first place and dumping a boyfriend she never really loved to begin with, she thought coming home to Claremont, North Carolina would solve all her problems. Instead, she’s still reeling from her mom’s death six months earlier and trying, but failing to help her dad, who’s sunken deep into a whiskey-fueled depression. Working in the local, motorcycle club-owned, auto shop’s office is a last resort, but it’s the only option she has…even if it means working with Caleb Sawyer, the bad-boy biker with swagger to spare who used to drive her up the wall in high school.

Caleb Sawyer is on the fast-track to a downward spiral. He used to think he had the world at his feet–all he has to do is be patient, earn his keep in the club and in the shop, and his legacy within the Iron Horsemen MC will be his for the taking when the time is right. But that just doesn’t mean anything without his old lady by his side, who wants to leave Claremont more than she wants to stay with him. When the bottom finally drops out, nothing prepares him for the impact and he deals with it the only way he knows how–with whiskey and women. Despite all that, being around Isabelle Martin, the girl whose feathers he ruffled so easily in high school, somehow brings him back to life. She doesn’t take any of his crap, but she calls him on it without judgment and without pity.

Despite some initial animosity, Caleb and Isabelle quickly realize that the perceptions they had of each other in high school couldn’t be further from the truth. The more time they spend together, the closer they become and the more they gravitate towards each other. Both are at a crossroads, but stuck in reverse. Isabelle needs help; she just doesn’t know how to ask for it. Caleb needs a life preserver; he just doesn’t know where to find one. And ultimately, on the path to rediscovery and identity, all roads lead them to exactly what they need–each other.

New adult/contemporary romance told in alternating points of view. Recommended for readers 18 and older.

EXCERPT:

Jesus. He tilted his hips back.

The last thing she wanted was some sad cripple getting hard again while she was pressed up against him.

“You’re drawing a crowd. Maybe you should cover yourself up, yeah?” The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. She shoved at his chest, but he couldn’t bring himself to let her go.

Her cheeks turned pink, eyes flashing. “Hardly a crowd. It was one car, Cole. And I can’t see how the way I dress would affect you.” She scowled.

“Besides, I thought you’d still be asleep.”

“I was asleep, until you started blasting music loud enough to rattle the windows.” What was he doing? Let her go. Walk away. “Shouldn’t you be working in the garage?”

Where you’re mostly covered up and your delectable body isn’t on display for any asshole to see.

She shrugged, which smooshed her tits harder againsthis chest. “We decided to have a weekend off.” She clung to his shoulders, and it felt good, too damn good. It would be so easy to wrap her legs around his waist and press her against the side of the house. Take that pouty mouth and fucking devour it.

He reluctantly let her go. It was either that or come across as even more of a pervert than he already was where Piper was concerned. Of course that only made things worse. The sudden movement caused her nipples to drag down his chest. The soft heat of her body lingering, as though she’d branded him. He watched her, fighting an internal battle to keep his hands to himself. Her taste, her smell had been etched into his senses, and he wanted more. Jesus, he was hard, and so wound up he was on the verge of splintering

apart.

She stumbled back a step and lifted a hand to her blond hair, which she’d piled on her head in a messy bun, and brushed the loose strands back from her face. She stared at his chest for a few beats, no doubt horrified by the scars marking his body.

He waited for her to look up, waited to see the disgust, the pity on her face, stiffening when she lifted her heart-shaped face to his, bracing for what was coming. But there was no pity, no disgust when she looked at him. No, there

was something else entirely. Her cheeks were flushed, lips a darker shade of pink than usual. And when she bit down on the lower one, forcing the top one to puff out in a way that was extremely sexy—he wanted desperately to pull her back into his arms and suck on it. But it was her eyes that got to

him most, they were bright and…fuck…hungry.

He struggled to breathe, so far gone that raw lust pounded into him, had him close to the edge, close to insanity. “In the future, keep the music down. And put some fucking clothes on when you’re outside.” And as it turned out, jealous as hell. He didn’t want anyone else to see her like this. In his mind Piper was his. He’d claimed her as his when she was seventeen years old—he just hadn’t gotten around to telling her.

EXCERPT

Isabelle

Both of his hands settled around my face now and overwhelmed by his closeness and drunk on the emotions he’d resurrected in me, I closed the short space between us and pressed my lips gently into his. Caleb stilled for only a moment, no doubt startled by the fact that I was the one initiating this, but I was way past the point of no return now, and he recovered a heartbeat later, tightening his hold on my face, somehow pulling me even closer to him.

It started slow and tender as our mouths tentatively became reacquainted with each other and I couldn’t help the soft moan in the back of my throat just at tasting him again. It had been so long since I’d felt this, I’d honestly forgotten what his lips felt like…or maybe I’d just forced myself to forget. But there was no denying how good this felt, how at home I felt as his hands slid all the way around my waist.

Suddenly, I was moving in the air as he spun us around to press me back into the island. He gripped my hips to hoist me up onto the counter and my legs wrapped around his waist to help him sink in even deeper before I had a moment to recover.

His tongue pushed its way through my mouth and as his rough, familiar hands skimmed up the back of my shirt, just stopping at the edge of my bra. I shivered in his arms and wondered fleetingly if this was just all a dream. If I’d wake up any moment now, alone in my bed, and wondering what the hell just happened. But his lips were still moving over mine, tasting and taking everything I offered to him, eagerly giving it right back to me.

My hands wound their way around the back of his neck and gripped the top of his head as he ground my hips down against the hardness in his jeans. Just as I leaned my forehead against his to sigh into his lips, a loud cough jerked me out of the whirlwind I’d stumbled into it.

My hands dropped away from Caleb’s face and I turned just in time to see my dad shuffling toward the refrigerator. Caleb jolted and hustled out from between my legs to put some space between us. He ran a hand over his head as if to smooth the hair he didn’t really have there and my dad cast a wary glance over his shoulder at us.

“Don’t mind me,” he chuckled. “Just needed something to drink.”

“Sorry, Dad,” I murmured and bit down on my bottom lip as I slid off the counter.

My dad met my eyes briefly before turning his attention to Caleb. “Where are you planning on sleeping tonight?”

Caleb cleared his throat roughly. “The couch.”

“Good,” he nodded and shut the fridge door as he turned to us with a water bottle in his hand. “Probably best to take it slow, huh?”

I opened my mouth to protest, but for the life of me, I couldn’t find any words to say. My dad just waved goodnight and disappeared around the stairwell. When my eyes found Caleb again, he was staring slack-jawed after my dad and he shook his head.

“Wow.”

“Yeah,” I laughed. “That wasn’t embarrassing or anything.”

Instead of responding, he tucked his hands deep in his pockets and grinned at me.

“I should, um,” I swallowed hard, already backpedalling toward the same hallway my dad had just disappeared to. “I should get to bed. I’ll see you in the morning?”

“I’ll be here,” he nodded. “Sweet dreams, Iz.”

I waved awkwardly because there was no way in hell I was getting out of this gracefully and I scrambled up the stairs, practically running my dad over in the process, and didn’t stop until my old bedroom door was shut safely behind me.

EXCERPT

Kellie was trying to figure out how to politely excuse Quinn for the night without sinking to the floor, wrapping herself around his knees, and begging him to stay and hang out with her when the first sex sounds came through the hotel walls.

They were not soft, gentle gasps of pleasure. No, these were groans and moans worthy of the Haunted Mansion at Disney World.

She was mortified. Here was this nice guy—a complete stranger who had sacrificed his entire evening to do her a favor—and he was trapped in a hotel room listening to people have sex. The fact that it was people she knew made it so much more horrifying.

So, this was weird. What now? “I guess they’re busy enough—you could probably escape, if you want.”

But then he gave that grin—a grin she bet had gotten Quinn into, and out of, an awful lot of trouble in his youth—and said, “No way. I bet we can have louder, better sex.”

Her whole body flushed at the thought, completely on board with the idea, but her brain was still engaged enough to recognize that she barely knew this man.

Looking right into her eyes, he let out a bellow like a wounded bull. This was followed by a deep, rumbling, “Oh, Kellie, baby. I have been waiting for this forever.”

She nearly choked on the giggles that erupted.

“Yeah? You like that, don’t you?” he said—loudly—motioning her toward the bed. He sat down, hard, onto the mattress, bouncing the box springs enough to creak.

She jumped on next to him and they alternated bounces, making sounds that she prayed she never really made during sex. Although if sex with Quinn was even half as good as it seemed like it might be, she didn’t care what she sounded like or who would hear her.

“Are you ready for me, baby? Are you ready for this? Do you want this?”

“Oh, yes, Quinn. Give it to me. Let me see that big—” She stopped and stared at him. And looked at his crotch—a totally involuntary action. From what she could tell, he wasn’t completely unaffected by their little game.

And he’d seen her look. Well, the hell with it. What happened in Vegas…

“Give me that big porn star cock, you stud,” she yelled.“Oh my God, yes. Oh, I need lube! You’re bigger than my vibrator.”

Quinn cracked up, rolling over on the mattress, covering his face with the pillow to stifle his laughter.

But then he was back in the game. He turned and grabbed the headboard and began slamming it into the wall at a rate of about a million thrusts per second.

Watching the muscles of his arm work, she couldn’t help but imagine the muscles of his ass and thighs straining to pump into her and figured she probably wouldn’t need lube if the real thing was coming at her even a quarter that hard and fast. Just the idea was making her feel a little slippery.

But as impressive as Quinn was, Kellie wasn’t going to let him be the master of her domain just yet. She stood on the bed and began to bounce, letting out vigorous “unh, unh, unhhhhhs.”

Quinn turned to watch her and said, “Faster, baby, faster.” Then he leaned back against the headboard with his arms crossed behind his head, legs stretched out on his side of the bed.

So she jumped faster. And higher. And realized that she had on a skirt, and was jumping up and down right above a hot guy that she barely knew, and he was—yes, he was looking up her skirt. When he wasn’t watching her boobs bounce.

And from the looks of things below his belt, he was enjoying the show.

Recognition caused her to lose her footing. One foot slipped off the bed, and with a cry she flew forward—toward Quinn’s reclining self, landing on him—and coming to rest with her face inches from his.

“Hi,” he said, after he caught his breath.

“Uh, hi.”

There was silence next door.

“Think we impressed your friends with our virility?”

“Oh, yeah.” Kellie was impressed with the hot, hard body beneath hers. Her legs were intertwined with his and his leg pressed against the hem of her skirt. His thigh wasn’t quite all the way between hers, but with a wiggle or two—She froze. The air-conditioning wafted over her slightly sweaty skin, cooling everything that wasn’t touching Quinn.

Her hands rested on his solid shoulders, and he had one palm on her waist and one on the back of her thigh, where her knee was bent outward in that almost-straddle position. She was in a hotel room staring into the mesmerizing eyes of a stranger in a very compromising position. If he wasn’t honorable…or if she wasn’t— And she was beginning to doubt her good-girl status.

He let her go just as she squirmed off him and to her side.

Could you say awkward?

“So. In your romance-land fake boyfriend world, do I roll over and go to sleep now that my caveman requirements have been met or do I pretend to want to cuddle, or what?”

Featured Excerpts
ANTIHERO by C.J. Pinard ~Excerpt~
I answered the door to see Talia standing there in a white flowy-looking sundress and those damn cowboy boots that drove me crazy. Her hair was down, the wild curls falling around her face. As usual, she didn’t have on much makeup, but her pretty pink lips were all shiny. I felt myself stiffen in my pants.
She walked in and put her arms around me and smiled. “I’ve missed you.”
I chuckled, kissing the top of her head. “You just saw me this morning.”
“I know,” she laughed. “Are you ready?”
I nodded, patting myself down to make sure I had my keys, phone, and wallet. Check, check, check.
We walked out into the parking area, and when I saw her car parked next to mine, I said, “Your car is locked, right?”
She rolled her eyes and smiled. “Yes, dad.”
I grabbed her hand and kissed it. “Don’t sass me, or I’ll have to spank you.”
“Promise?” she asked, a mischievous glint in her pretty eyes.
We walked to the restaurant we’d agreed on earlier. It was only a few blocks from my house, and it was a nice night. She planned on staying over, so her coming to meet me here just made sense.
I held her hand as we walked, the warm night not too hot and not cold, just perfect. She told me some more about her mom and a younger brother who had received a college scholarship and was living somewhere out west to get his degree. I talked to her about my mom and stepdad and told her I wanted her to meet them one day. That made her smile. I finally opened up about my visit with Harper Mathis and the job prospects she’d given me. She looked so happy, I tried to memorize her face.
“Ellis Anderson?”
We turned around slowly when a male voice said my name with an authority I recognized. Two Tampa P.D. officers were standing there, looking stern.
“Yes, sir?”
The larger of the two walked over and pulled out a pair of handcuffs. “Sorry, son, but you’re under arrest for the assault and battery of Justin Silver.”
“Fuck,” I muttered. I didn’t even need to ask. That pussy bitch had pressed charges.
“Oh, my God! No, please don’t,” Talia cried, seeming to know why I was being put in cuffs. “That thug attacked us first!”
The shorter of the two officers paused for a minute, but only said, “Ma’am, please step away, we have to take him in.”
Talia was crying now, dammit. The officer took mercy on her and handed her a card. “He’s being taken here. He can probably make bail, but call that number and they will let you know.”
She took the card but kept looking at me as the cops walked me to their waiting car, putting me into the backseat. I gave no resistance, as I knew they were just doing their job. I could only hope to claim self-defense. There go my chances with that job.
Fuck my life…
I turned around to see Talia standing in the street with the glare from the streetlamps illuminating the tears streaming down her cheeks. I swallowed the lump in my throat and shook my head. If that shitbag is out and I’m going to jail, I’m gonna find his ass when I make bail and he’s gonna face the wrath of LT.

The Biker’s Secret Torment by Lisa Ladew
I stalked down the darkening campus sidewalk, my thoughts on overdrive. Why was it, that spending years away from him had done nothing to lessen the impact those dark eyes and that brooding smirk had on me?
I’d turned in my Human Physiology final, then nearly swallowed my tongue when I walked out of the exam room into the lobby of the building and saw him on the tiny TV in the corner. They’d only showed him from a distance, but I knew it was him. Only one member of my dad’s MC wore a beanie pulled low, swaggered like that, and filled out a Mad Marauders MC cut like that. My heartbeat had tripled as I rushed to the TV and turned the sound up, my eyes plastered on the fiery Viking helmet and sword in the center patch. I clenched my teeth as I listened to the reporter’s human interest bullshit. Before he disappeared into the clubhouse, I realized he wasn’t limping. What in the hell did that mean?
The piece had only lasted another few seconds, but after I saw it I had run out onto campus, shaking with anger for him. They didn’t use his name, but some smartass reporter had dug up his past and was now trying to use it to further her career. I wondered if she had contacted him yet. Asked him for an interview. If she had, I wondered how that fuck you had tasted to her.
I took a left between two buildings in the fading evening light, practically running towards my dorm. But when I got there, I couldn’t go inside. What if Sloane was in there? I couldn’t fucking deal with her right now. Her special bitch senses would start tingling the second I walked in the door and she would pounce on me, knowing I was upset. No way. I had one more final tomorrow, and then I was done with school for almost a month. When I came back I would have a new roommate. If I never talked to Sloane again, that would be fine with me, and I really couldn’t deal with her now.

DOG – By Bella Love-Wins
Kim POV.
What had happened couldn’t be changed. Mom was dead, and I was there, in a random safe house that no one really lived in, with five bikers.
One of whom was irresistibly hot.
Once I’d gotten dressed in the only pair of pajamas I’d brought, I settled onto the bed and looked around the room while I dried my hair. The bedside clock said that it was nearly one in the morning. I didn’t feel tired at all, my limbs instead full of a sensation that couldn’t be pinpointed. Nervousness? Fear?
A soft knock on the door made me self-conscious.
“Yes?” I asked as I pulled a knitted blanket over my legs. I was wearing short shorts I’d had since freshman year in high school, and they didn’t exactly cover up much anymore.
“It’s Kane.”
I swallowed hard. “Come in.”
He opened the door hesitantly, hanging back with his hand on the knob.
“You can come in,” I repeated. It was odd to see him waiting for my approval to do something. I’d pegged him as the kind of guy who was always working hard to show his status. Or maybe that was just the way he was in front of the other members of the club.
“I’m sorry about all of this,” he said, walking over to the bed and sitting just a foot away.
“It’s not your fault.” I glanced at him and then looked away quickly. That softness in his eyes was something new. It was way too much to handle. God, he was so hot. Any time he was close to me my entire body would practically be humming. It was as though his presence alone made me come alive in a way I never had before.
What would he do if I made a move? Kane was anything but my usual type. And yet that heat couldn’t be denied.
Suppose I was to have sex with him. It would only be one time. Hell, maybe it would even be good for me. It would get my mind off of the horrible circumstances of my life. Not only that, it would show Kane that I was just as capable of calling the shots as he was.
The temptation to reach over and grab his face or his crotch were still building up when he turned to me.
“Your dad just wants to protect you.”
I sighed. This was so not the conversation I’d been looking for. “He’s done a shitty job of it so far. Just ask my mother.”
Surprisingly, Kane pursed his lips and nodded. “That’s a legit way to feel.”
I crossed my arms, suddenly no longer in the mood to make a move on him. “What’s going to happen next?”
“We’ll keep moving you around. Make sure we don’t stay in one place for too long.”
“Until when?”
“Until this thing with the Arroyos Bandidos is settled.”
“I have school,” I spat.
“Doesn’t your survival come first? You can’t go to school if you’re dead.”
I bit my lip. Damn him. Damn him and those smoking eyes. Damn him and that rough stubble, that square jaw, those hard biceps popping out from underneath the hems of his shirt.
Before I knew it my hand was on his shoulder. He didn’t move, just looked at me, his gaze boring a hole into my face. Eager to act before I chickened out, I leaned forward and brushed my lips softly against his. He opened his mouth in a welcome as I kissed harder, tasting the salt and reveling in the softness of his tongue when it slipped out between his lips.
I shifted my weight, letting the blanket drop to the floor. Finally having decided to just go for it, I raised up onto my knees. He responded by grasping my waist and swinging me around to straddle his lap, never breaking the contact of our lips for an instant.
His hands trailed up to the back of my head, winding their way through my damp hair. When I turned my face to the side to get at a better angle for kissing I pushed my weight forward, pressing my crotch against his. A deep growl that seemed to come up from the very earth traveled through Kane’s body and escaped his mouth only to make my own lips hum with the reverberations.
I broke off the kiss with a heavy gasp, keeping my face still close to his.
“This is just sex,” I whispered.

Taming The Biker by Cassie Alexandra.

It was the sound of my cell phone buzzing that woke me from a dead sleep. Groaning from the sharp pain in my temples, I opened one eye and reached clumsily for the phone. As I did, an arm encircled my waist and pulled me backwards into warm, solid maleness.
Shocked, I stiffened up. Who in the hell is that?!
“Relax,” murmured a gravelly voice against my neck. His mouth moved up and he nipped my earlobe with his teeth, making me shiver. “Whoever it is can wait, but as you can probably tell… I can’t.”
My eyes wide open now, they darted around the darkness. I was definitely in my hotel room, which brought me no relief. I couldn’t just slip away.
He pressed his hips against my bottom and there was no mistaking the raging hard-on rubbing against my cheeks. “I need to be inside you, babe. You feel me?”
“Yeah,” I squeaked. I definitely felt him.
Rough fingers reached up and grabbed my breast. He tugged on my nipple. “God, you’re sexy,” he murmured.
I can’t do this, I thought, my cheeks burning in shame. I didn’t do one-night stands. Not ever. But, last night had been my sister’s wedding and obviously, I’d had far too much to drink.
Taking a deep breath, I pried the man’s fingers from my breast, and scooted out of his reach, pulling one of the blankets with me.
“Hey, where you going?” he asked, trying to reach for me again.
Covering myself, I quickly stood up and turned on the lamp. When I finally got a good look at the muscular, tattooed man lounging in my bed, I groaned at my own stupidity. In the back of my mind, I knew it was him. I just didn’t want to believe it.
I sighed. “Taylor.”
He rubbed the side of his cheek. “You look surprised.”
“Do I?” I mumbled, frustrated. I wasn’t sure which made me angrier – the fact that I’d had sex with him, or the fact that I couldn’t remember any of it.
Taylor patted the bed. “Why don’t you get back into bed?”
“No.”
He tilted his head to the side. “Why not?”
“I just… can’t.”
With a hard, feral grin, he shoved the blanket away from his hips, exposing his impressive hard-on. “You sure you don’t want to try?”
Seeing such a masculine, ripped body naked and fully cocked, my womanhood spasmed with desire. “You’re… not making this easy,” I admitted.
Taylor rolled over onto his back. “Good. Now, get on, Lauren. You know you want to. I see it in your eyes,” he said huskily.
At a loss for words, I was unable to look away from his perfectly, chiseled body. He was certainly a beautiful specimen and any fantasy that I might have ever had about Taylor Adams couldn’t possibly measure up to the real deal.
He reached over and grabbed a condom that was sitting on the nightstand. “If you want, we can use one of these, this time.”
Shocked, I pried my eyes away from his hips. “We didn’t use a condom?”
His eyes narrowed. “You said you were on the pill.”
