A secret baby brings a second chance for love.
Carlene Varner’s homecoming isn’t exactly going according to plan. She thought she’d have some time to adjust before introducing her daughter to Jace Dawson, the father her little girl has never known. Instead, within days of her arrival, her house burns down and she and Tilly have no choice but to move in with the sexy cowboy himself at the Prairie Rose ranch. Now the whole Dawson clan-heck, the whole town of Happy-is all up in their business.
Jace has dealt with stubborn bulls and bucking broncos-but being a dad? He is so not ready for this… Yet the more time he spends with Carlene and little Tilly, the harder it is to imagine life without them. Now he just has to convince Carlene that he’s the real deal-and hope that this time she’s here to stay.
HOMETOWN COWBOY by Sara Richardson
Outrageously handsome Lance Cortez is practically a living legend in Colorado, as famous for riding bulls as he is for breaking hearts. What would a big-time cowboy star like him see in a small-town veterinarian who wears glasses, rescues animals, and cries when watching rom-coms? Turns out, plenty.

LUCKIEST COWBOY OF ALL is a sweet, sexy read! Carlene moves back to Happy, Texas with her daughter Tilly, and move into her Grandmothers house. Jace finds that he has a daughter he never knew about. When Carlene’s Grandmother house unexpectedly burns down one night, Jace offers them to come and live with him. This helps him to get to know his daughter and he can work on convincing Carlene that he still loves her. The daughter Tilly really helps to move the story along, and I just love her character, I always love getting a new Carolyn Brown book, for I know I am in for a great read. She has not disappointed me yet. This is a sexy, fun read and I recommend it to everyone. I give Luckiest Cowboy of All: Two full books for the price of one (Happy, Texas) 5/5 stars.

“I’m really sorry, Levi. Please don’t be mad at me. I know how much you and Gunner have done for me. I wasn’t trying to disrespect either one of you. I swear. It’s just, in the last week and a half, I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster.” Taya stopped talking, hoping he would respond.
He didn’t say a word. Not even the slightest reaction to give her hope. Nothing. Instead, Levi turned up the radio. Big mistake. The silence was better than the song. Each word was an attack on their circumstances. “Not Easy” by Alex Da Kid, featuring X Ambassadors, Elle King, and Wiz Khalifa was tormenting the duo.
Life hadn’t been easy for Taya, but Levi had always tried to make sure she always had someone in her court. From day one, he had been the one person who she could always count on. Now, as she sat there in silence, she realized she might have finally pushed him too far. Levi really did have a breaking point, and he had clearly reached it.
Taya started to tear up, her eyes filling to capacity.
Levi had always loved her unconditionally, even with all her faults and weaknesses. It was one of the reasons she wanted him to find someone else, and the reason she had stayed in Toronto. Levi deserved a woman who could love unconditionally, just like him. He deserved a woman who was strong in body and mind. Taya knew she was only strong in body. Her mind was damaged. Even after seventeen years, she still woke up screaming with nightmares.
How many men wanted to make love to a misfit with a haphephobia?
Taya hated that Levi knew the term. Not many people did. But Levi knew it meant she had a rare phobia of touch or being touched that was associated with her PTSD.
Yeah, Levi had respected all her boundaries when they’d had sex in the past, but no man should have to follow such bizarre rules. It was beyond embarrassing and humiliating. She would rather use a vibrator for the rest of her life than condemn him to that kind of relationship.
In sexual relationships, if there was no emotional connection, a man could at least expect a good roll in the sack. Taya couldn’t even offer him that.
As the first of her indignant tears fell, adding to her self-loathing, she lowered her head in shame. She hated to cry. It was a sign of weakness.
Levi watched Taya in the rear-view mirror as the oncoming lights lit up her face and allowed him to see all the emotions play across it. She was breaking his heart, but if he was going to succeed with his plan, he had to learn to suppress his reaction to seeing her hurt.
He stayed strong until he saw her lower her head and a big, fat tear rolled down her cheek. Then his willpower started crumbling.
He chanted to himself to stay strong and keep his eyes on the road, not the rear-view mirror. This was for her own good. He had to face the fact that there were going to be more tears before he could get her to admit the truth.
Levi questioned for the millionth time why she couldn’t show her emotions. He had to get her to open up and share what had happened all those years ago. He had to understand the depth of her captivity.

If only life came with a guarantee.
Patrick McNaughton wants more. More people drinking Foghorn’s beer, more money to push their brewery past the competition, and more cooperation from his brothers, who have no sense of urgency. He’s all about conquering one challenge on his way to the next, so long as there’s a remote chance of winning. That’s why Aspen Pane sits in the office down the hall, oblivious to his attraction. Patrick has always wanted more with her, but he never was one to risk it all.
Aspen Pane has more than enough. As business manager for Foghorn, she keeps the brewery in the black and lives up to the nickname the McNaughton brothers gave her—Wonder Woman. She’s worked hard her whole life for the money she now has in the bank, the small house she calls home, and time with her friends. So, even though it seems everyone close to her, including her brother, is inconveniently falling in love, Aspen sticks with her to-do list. Because love risks everything and she doesn’t do that for anyone.
After an unexpected flight and an eccentric venture capitalist thrust them into a battle of wits and lies even they’re not sure they can win, Patrick and Aspen must learn the difference between making a connection and making money. They may need to face their fears and risk it all in the name of finding a new work-love balance.
“Aspen, Patrick is a lucky guy. See that he puts a ring on it and soon.” Joel kissed her hand, and she couldn’t decide what was more off-putting: that he managed a wet hand kiss or that he still believed that Beyoncé reference was funny. Despite both, she managed a smile and a thank-you for what had truthfully turned into an entertaining evening. Patrick shook hands one last time and didn’t push for anything further. He was subtle that way. He knew when to push, which made one more thing Aspen appreciated.
Once they’d checked into their hotel, they both walked out onto the adjoining balconies of their adjoining suites—Patrick sat in the cushioned chair in his suit minus the jacket and tie and Aspen in her dress, slippers, and one of the gorgeous robes hanging in her bathroom, took a seat on her patio.
“Not bad for a fake date, am I right?” She led with sarcasm because he was quiet. The energy between them was difficult to navigate outside of work, out from behind their laptops. Now that the evening was quiet, it felt like things could be shared, but it was safer to stick with their familiar back and forth.
“Do you date, Aspen? You know, other than guys you’re not attracted to anymore or fake dates?” Patrick obviously didn’t get the memo that they were sticking with sarcasm and small talk. His face was serious, but he was looking up at the night sky.
She tightened her fluffy robe. “Lucas is the guy I’m not attracted to?”
He nodded and then glanced at her, still no sarcasm.
“I… date. Rarely. I’m not looking for men I find attractive.”
“Why?”
She pulled her legs onto the seat and tucked them under her robe, as if she could hermit crab her way out of her feelings. “I don’t know. I like having the upper hand.”
