TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN BY SAMANTHA A. COLE

With a gun and a duffel bag full of cash, Moriah Jensen is on the run from the police and ruthless drug dealers. She’d fled Chicago after her family was murdered and has spent the past four months trying to stay alive. Using an alias, she has bounced around from town to town, state to state, trying to stay at least a few steps ahead of the people chasing her.

KC Malone is on a two-week leave from his Navy SEAL team when he arrives at his uncle’s beach house to find a beautiful woman pointing a gun at his chest. What the hell had he just walked in on?

When the two become reluctant, temporary housemates, KC offers to train Moriah to defend herself against an alleged abusive ex-boyfriend. But then her past catches up with her and Moriah has to decide between her love for KC and running for safety. To stay would risk both their lives. To run would mean leaving her heart behind.

ALL FIRED UP BY KATE MEADER “WHO WILL GET BURNED?”

all fired up

I was given this book by Net Galley for an honest review.

Book Description

         Publication Date:         November 5, 2013

Her sweetest mistake . . .
Cool as a Chicago winter, private events planner Cara DeLuca is a model of self-control . . . until she meets the one temptation she can’t resist: Shane Doyle. The sexy, Irish pastry chef is too hot, too sure, too young, and after a crazy night in Vegas – her new husband. While at first Cara wants nothing more than a way out of her sham marriage to Shane, she soon finds that beneath his farm boy demeanor lies a man who can match her drive, both in and out of the bedroom. How can the wrong guy feel so deliciously right?
. . . Tastes so, so good

Shane has carefully structured his career and life around one goal: connecting with the family that doesn’t know he exists. Marrying a woman with more issues than a magazine stand wasn’t part of the plan, but melting Cara’s icy exterior is so worth the detour. Now as the annulment date nears and long-buried secrets are revealed, Shane will have to fight for the one thing guaranteeing the perfect life he craves . . . the current Mrs. Shane Doyle.

All Fired Up was a was a sweet, fiery read, with well-developed characters, and story line. Cara and Shane are great together with great chemistry between them. The first time Shane and Cara meet is in Vegas when Cara  is there for a wedding. They have a great time together and end up married. They don’t see each other until Shane shows up in Chicago working in Jack Kilroy’s restaurant Sarriette’s. The sparks and chemistry is still there, and Cara is fighting her attraction to Shane. She calls her lawyer and has him to draw up the papers for an annulment. Shane does not sign them and wants to try to make a go of their relationship, but he knows that if she finds out the true reason that he really wanted a job a Sarriette’s she would never forgive him. As their relationship progresses they open up to each other, and end up falling in love. I really liked the way she handled the way of telling about anorexia, and how todays world messes with a woman’s image of herself with always showing really thin models. In today’s world that is not always the truth, we are a more full-figured nation and these young girls are given an image problem by our marketing strategies of showing thinner airbrushed models.  I loved this book and give it 5/5 stars. Kate Meader is an author I will recommend to everyone.

Now, with enemies gathering on all sides, Maddy’s fate is looking darker than ever. And to protect her unborn son from her adversaries, she may have to tap into a power she hoped never to access…
I was given this book by Net Galley for an honest review.
**Spoiler Alert**
Black Heart is a fast paced, roller-coaster ride of a book. The character development and story line are very well done. For most of the book it is jus Maddy on another world. She was sent there by Nathaniel when the retrievers were sent after her by the Agency. She realizes that she is truly alone, and tries to find her way back to her world. In trying to locate the portal she has to destroy a threat that she has encountered before, the Cimic. In doing so she comes across her Uncle Daharan in his dragon form. She does not know why , but she feels a connection with him. When she returns to Chicago she has no homed to return to, for the retrievers have burned it down. J.B. finds her and takes her to his place. Things go horribly wrong from there very fast, and Maddy does not know who to trust anymore. She does not know who is behind the new threat, but now she has to kill Queen Titania before she kills her.
Maddy now has to embrace the darkness inside herself to kill one of the oldest Fae, otherwise Queen Titania will kill her and raise her son and teach him to hate her. After  she kills the Queen, the Agency sends the retrievers once again and Maddy breaks the chains that the agency has on the retrievers. Maddy now controls the retrievers, and fins out that Puck was behind it all.
I loved Black Heart and recommend this book to everyone so I give it 5/ 5 stars,

This is a richly layered story, different from some that I have read. Brynna is a fallen angel seeking redemption. She escapes Hell to Earth so she can redeem herself to God and return to Heaven. On Earth she meets Eran Redmond, a cop,  who deal with her because she is a witness to a murder on her first day on Earth.
Once the pace picks up it is an excellent read.
The story and the characters just pull you in. There is two books in the series, and I hope there will be more. I loved this story line. I give it a 4/ 5 stars just because it took it a little to pick up the pace of the story.
Here is the second book in the series.
