BLURB:

An ex-cop sent to prison for something he didn’t do, Kurt Doyle knows from experience that nothing good ever happens on a Monday. So when his Grams hooks him up with a friend in need of a bodyguard, he knows better than to get involved… until the Little in Scotti Moore provokes the dominant Daddy in him. She’s small, she’s sweet, she’s innocent. She’s almost more trouble than she’s worth, and she’s a librarian, for crying out loud. But she needs his protection, and even if she is everything he wants, he knows the last thing she needs is a man that brings more trouble.

EXCERPT:

Now she really couldn’t sleep.

Picking at Bat Bear now instead of her blanket, Scotti asked, “Is there someone out there missing you because you’re sleeping here?”

“Grams has late-night TV to keep her company,” he said. “She’ll be fine.”

“No, I mean someone like me.”

“I already told you, I’ve never done this before. You’re my only client. Go to sleep, Scotti.”

“No,” she persisted. “I mean, do you have someone… like me.”

“People who just get out of prison don’t get the luxury of having somebody,” he said. “They get to get their lives back together first.” His tone dropped into those low notes of warning that she was starting to recognize as preceding a threat to her sitting abilities. “Close your eyes and go to sleep.”

She closed her eyes, but her mind wouldn’t quiet, and so they only drifted open again a few seconds later. “You did have someone, though, right?” she asked, and even though he sighed again, added, “Someone like me? Once upon a time?”

“Scotti…”

“But you’re too good a Daddy not to have had somebody!” she protested.

She could practically feel the waves of disapproval rolling off him and that frustrated her. She was just asking a question. That he wouldn’t answer and satisfy this one niggling curiosity was killing her! He’d jumped on the Daddy train without her saying one word; there had to be a past Little out there who, once upon a pre-prison time, had looked up to this aggravating lout and felt safe because she was his.

Or maybe the Little was a boy?

“Was your Little a guy?” she asked. “Is that why you don’t want to talk about it? I’m not a mean person. I promise I don’t kink shame or judge.”

He sat up again. “Do you need a hot butt?” he asked, evenly.

“No, but—”

“Two,” he said sternly.

That stopped her. Her tummy and her butt both tightened sharply at the threat, but that minute tightening didn’t last beyond the knee-jerk shock of hearing it. “You can’t start at two,” she grumbled. “It’s illegal to start at two. What happened to one?”

“One was on the stairs earlier tonight when you sprayed me in the face with that female crap.”

“But that was hours ago! You can’t just pick up where you left off, you have to start over every time!”

Kicking back his blankets, he got up off the floor.

“How high do you count?” she asked in increasing nervousness as he came back around to her side of the bed.

“Nowhere near high enough to help you now,” he said, stripping the blanket back off her.

“No!” She all but threw Bat Bear in her haste to get away, but he caught the back of her neck before she could do more than roll onto her tummy. “No!” She scrambled to get her hands and knees up under her.

He killed her flight instantly when he said, “Fight me and I’ll use my belt.”

EXCERPT:
“Where did you get that?” I nod towards the implement, but I know the answer even before he tells me.
“This?” He holds the paddle up. “I made it. I figured it would come in handy.”
“You’re not using it on me,” I say with more confidence than I feel.
“I am. I’m going to bend you over that sofa, pull your pants and panties down and blister your little ass, Mia. But first, you’re going to ask me for it.”
I’m too shocked to immediately reply. “What? As if…”
“You disobeyed me, Mia. You knew what to expect. So, ask your daddy to give it to you.”
“Fuck off.” My hands have begun to shake from fear and adrenaline. I ball them up and hold them defiantly at my sides.
“Ask me, Mia. You could have texted. You could have called, especially if there was trouble. Don’t stand here and pretend you didn’t know this would happen. You knew. You broke the rules.” He pauses. “You know what I think, Mia?” When I don’t answer, he tells me anyway. “I think you want me to spank you. I think you need to be spanked. I think you need to be spanked by someone who cares enough to make you pay for any decision that could hurt you. I think you’ve been searching all your life for a man who will do what I’m about to do.”
“Don’t…” I begin.
“Don’t lie…” he says.
The words die in my throat. I was about to deny it, but I can’t. He’s right. I’m scared out of my fucking mind, but I know that when I bend over that sofa and he takes my pants down, he’ll know the truth I’m trying to hide. And I want him to know. He understands the emotional component of my need but stripping me bare will expose the physical component. The drenched panel of my panties will reveal how excited I am despite my fear.
“Ask me.” Tell him you don’t want it! “Mia, it’s okay to need it.”

Don’t let him know the truth!
“You know this has to be done, baby.”
“Please….” I ignore my inner voice. He’s right. I put myself at risk. And what’s more, I’ve not even told him what happened because I did something really, really stupid. I deserve this and use my own folly to justify what I want. I look up at him, hardly believing the words coming out of my mouth.
“I’ve been a bad girl, Daddy. Please spank me.” His expression doesn’t change. It’s still scary stern, and I don’t resist as he pushes me over the arm of the sofa. He lays the paddle on the sofa and I stare at it as Ramsey hooks his fingers into the waistband of my shorts and pulls them down along with my panties. When they reach just above my knees, he stops and I don’t have to look back to know he’s seen that I’ve soaked them, that between my legs he can see my labia, innocently smooth but slightly spread and wet, the inner lips visible and visibly slick with arousal.
“Do you think I’m terrible?” I ask, looking back. My face is flushed with shame, but what I see makes me think I might be falling in love with the man about to spank me for the second time.
His eyes are fatherly, compassionate, understanding. “No, little girl,” he says. “You don’t have a damn thing to be ashamed of.” He nods to the sofa. “Hold on. This is going to hurt.”
About the Author

While USA Today bestselling author Ava Sinclair has written across multiple genres including contemporary, fantasy, sci-fi, Western, and paranormal, she’s best known for writing hot Daddy Dom romances that offer engaging plots, steamy sex, and relatable characters.
Over the years, she’s grown to develop a deeper understanding of why her readers love Daddy Dom books. The idea of a dominant man who provides nurturing guidance while allowing for growth is very appealing, especially when that man also knows that his partner’s capacity for pleasure is tied to his unlocking the deep submission Littles experience in the care of their Daddy.
Each book she writes is a journey, both for the woman navigating her feelings, and the dominant alpha male desiring a chance to give a woman everything he has to offer, both in and out of the bedroom.
Her titles include Big Beautiful Little, Big Daddy, Daddy’s World, Daddy Treatment, and Camp Daddy.

And she’s pretty certain the newest Dom at Club Indulgence is a thief, a private investigator or a cop.

Yep, trouble just follows her around.
He was the perfect undercover operative…
Everyone overlooked or underestimated him. This should be a simple op. Go in, find who was stealing money from Club Indulgence and leave.
Easy, right?
Well, it might have been if not for a secretive sexy little sub with way too much attitude and eyes that had seen far too much.
She roused his protective instincts, she pulled at the Dominant inside him and her past was enough to make most men run.
But she’d do well to remember not to underestimate him.

EXCERPT:
Her eyes widened. “You’re acting really odd for a guy who doesn’t know me.”
“I think we can agree that we’re no longer strangers.”
“Just because you’ve had your tongue in my mouth doesn’t mean you know me. It just means I had a lapse of sanity.”
He sighed. “Ria—”
“I’m tired. I want to go to bed. Let’s just agree that what happened before was due to a rush of hormones from leftover adrenaline and leave it at that, okay?”
A rush of hormones? His lips twitched. Fine, she could think that. He knew better. And he also knew she was right to put distance between them.
“Fine.”
“Good.” She stared up at him.
“You going to unlock your door now?”
“Uh-huh.” She turned around and pulled her keys out of her bag straight away. That surprised him. His experience was that women had a pile of crap in their bags and their keys were usually right at the bottom.
She unlocked the door and walked in. “Bye.” She swung the door shut without even looking back at him. He reached out and grabbed hold of it before it could slam shut.
She whirled around. “What are you doing?”
“I wasn’t quite finished yet. When you close this door I want to hear it lock. Understand?”
“I always lock my door. I’m not stupid.”
“Didn’t think you were. Some of your actions tonight were pretty stupid though, so I thought I better make certain.”
“Excuse me? What was so stupid?”
“Racing over to help Sophie by yourself.”
“What did you expect me to do?”
“I expected you to leave it to someone who was more equipped to handle the situation.”
She narrowed her gaze. “And what sort of equipment do you think I needed to handle the situation? A penis? News flash, a penis is not a weapon.”
“Well, I don’t know about that.” He grinned.

Excerpt

Thirty minutes later, she stood reaching for a potted vase sitting on the top shelf in the showroom when the bell over the door pealed. Before she could climb off the short stool, hard hands clasped her waist and lifted her down as if she weighed nothing. Flustered, she looked up, gritted her teeth and shifted in uncomfortable awareness when her eyes met Chief Nolan MacGregor’s amused gaze. Okay, she admitted it wasn’t the man’s physical appearance she objected to. What woman wouldn’t look twice at a six foot two, broad shouldered, slim hipped man who wore a Stetson tipped low enough to draw the eyes to the slit of his cobalt blue gaze? No, it was the arrogant dominance he wore like a comfortable coat that put her on edge whenever he entered her place, more so now he was crowding her against the shelves and making her even more aware of that ripped body. She much preferred easy-going, polite men.
Wishing it was anyone but him, she stated with a huff, “You’re crowding me, Chief.”
Those sensuous lips curved in a slow smile as he stepped back. “I wouldn’t make you so uncomfortable if you’d let yourself cut loose with me.”
Damn. There went that warm flush spreading through her body when he thumbed back his hat far enough for those enigmatic, blue eyes to zero in on her with a long perusal. He made no effort to hide the appreciative trail he took from her braided, dark brown hair to her sneaker-clad feet. How one look from him could make her dormant body sit up and take notice when she didn’t even like the man was beyond her. She sure as heck didn’t like it. She’d never been one to be ruled by baser urges, instead preferring a positive connection with a man or woman before embarking on a friendship, something that was definitely lacking between her and the chief.
Shuffling behind the counter, Mia breathed a sigh of relief once she put the wide, butcher block space between them. She glanced up, way up at the only man who’d been able to get under her skin. There wasn’t one thing she could pinpoint that rubbed her the wrong way; instead, it seemed to be the uneasy combination of arrogance, dominance and male magnetism she objected to, and her betraying body’s response to those undesirable traits. There was no use denying the way her pulse spiked under the slow stroke of his ice-blue eyes that was as potent as a caress, a reaction she should be used to by now since it had been occurring from the moment she first set eyes on him kissing that woman all those years ago.
“Thanks, Chief, but I have enough on my plate right now to keep me from even thinking about being added to your long list of conquests,” she returned primly, ignoring his taunting smirk. “Thank you for your order. Trish has it ready for you.” She pulled the vase forward.
“I didn’t peg you as the type to listen to small town rumors, Ms. Reynolds.” He nodded at the colorful arrangement. “Nice, thank you. I’m glad I caught you in.” The way he drew out Ms. Reynolds in a slow drawl hinted he knew about the finalization of her divorce. He and every other citizen in Whitetail.
Reaching into his breast pocket, Chief McGregor pulled out two tickets and slid them across the counter toward her. Tilting his hat back even further, he offered her a better view of his rugged face bronzed by sun and wind and capped with coal black hair tinted grey around his forehead. “You haven’t paid these.”
“I’m sorry, I’ve been so busy, I forgot.” Picking up the parking tickets, she winced at the fines. Her habit of pulling over and parking wherever it was convenient to expedite her errands resulted in a parking fine more often than not. That was just one of Pete’s constant complaints that went along with her always being in a hurry. “I can come in later this afternoon and take care of them.”
Leaning on the counter, he replied in that deep voice that never failed to curl her toes. “See that you do. Or, better yet, don’t. Now that you’re officially free, it’ll give me a good excuse to offer you a choice of consequences.”
The corners of his mouth kicked up in another smile, but she couldn’t miss the hint of a threat behind his words that set her heart to hammering with uncertainty. That didn’t concern her near as much as the sudden warm gush between her legs. She didn’t even like the man, for pity’s sake, and she really didn’t care for his forward insinuations.

I live in the Midwest with my husband and our dog, a lovable Great Pyrenees/Standard Poodle. I love dogs, enjoy spending time with my daughter, babysitting dogs and kids, reading and working puzzles. We have traveled extensively throughout the states, Canada and just once overseas, but I now prefer being a homebody. I worked for a while writing articles for a local magazine but soon found my interest in writing for myself peaking. My first book was strictly spanking erotica, but I slowly evolved to writing erotic spanking romance with a touch of suspense. My favorite genre to read is suspense.

Black Light: Fearless cover

He was the last thing she thought she needed, but she was everything he wanted.

Abused and alone, Kitty had no idea how far she’d have to flee after she finally got the courage to run. She never would have guessed she’d end up halfway around the world, or in the home — much less the arms — of dominant Australian whip-master, Noah Carver.

He knows she’s damaged, that she needs safety and time to heal, but the way her submission calls to him has Noah thinking more about what could be between them than her history.

The only question now is what she fears more: standing up to her abusive ex-dom, or staying with a man she’s afraid to love?

Hugging her towel, Kitty crept through the second kitchen archway, edging between the massive dining table and built-in china hutch, to peek out through the half-open drapes into the yard. She saw the radio first, sitting on the white-painted front porch rail, blaring its ‘80s music out into the yard where Noah was standing—no, not standing, dancing—step dancing, in form-fitting jeans, crocodile boots and worn tan hat, and a white t-shirt that fit him in a way that was at once loose and yet a second skin. She could see the ripple of muscle playing across his shoulders and back, bunching and flexing in his biceps as his arms moved to the beat, rising and falling, snapping out the rhythm with each of the whips he held, one in each hand. That was the source of the popping. Not one crack at a time, but two and three snaps to each fluid movement as he turned and stepped, and tapped his way through to the end of that Dire Straits song.

When it was over, the music paused long enough for him to reset himself. Head slightly bowed, he rolled his muscular shoulders, shook the whips out like long snakes in the dust around his feet, and then AC/DC started up. Thunderstruck. His foot started tapping. He found the beat, and then he began all over again. Fluid, graceful, line-dancing motions that he so effortlessly filled with a whole new accompaniment of tempo-keeping cracks from his whips.

She caught her breath, suddenly aware that her stomach was tightening and quivering right along with his punctuating music.

Abruptly retreating from the window, Kitty stood for a moment at the table, hands clutching and tightening and adjusting at her towel, feeling at once hot and flustered and confused and scared, and then stupid because she didn’t know why. Two tiny steps forward could have carried her back to the window for a second peek, but she made herself turn away.

The heavenly aroma of coffee drifted from the kitchen.

She hugged herself, knowing she ought to get dressed, but also knowing there was no way she was going back into her bedroom. Not now, possibly not ever.

She wandered as far as the living room, stopping again between the dark yawning maw of the hallway leading back to spider-infested doom — and the front door, with its multi-paneled glass windows that provided another peak at Noah out in the yard.

A sparkle of gold drew her eye into the living room. There wasn’t a lot of furniture to stumble around or useless decorations, but there were a lot of display boxes hanging on the walls. In each one, attached to a green-felt backcloth, was a coiled brown-plaited whip with a golden plaque the size of a business card. Noah’s name was engraved on each one, with the division of whip cracking that he’d won—most of which read simply ‘Mens’ Champion’—and the year. There were fifteen of them total, and they spanned nine years’ worth of achievements.

Scattered among them and along the fireplace mantel were pictures. Some of Noah at various ages; some of other people. Everybody had whips, and one was a newspaper clipping taken from the local paper in which the headline included both Noah’s name and the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where apparently he and others from the Australian Whipcrackers & Plaiters Association had put on the Opening Ceremony and, as the paper put it, opened the eyes of the world to the competitive sport of Australian whip cracking.

She was looking over his framed collection of Guinness World Record titles when the front door suddenly opened and Noah walked in. How she had missed hearing the music shut off, she didn’t know. It wasn’t as if he were trying to sneak up on her. The heavy tromp of his boots when he crossed the threshold, took one look at her in nothing but a towel, and abruptly stopped, was damn near deafening.

To his credit, he didn’t ogle her. He kept his eyes locked with hers and any hint of discernible expression locked tight behind a mask she could not read. It was probably disapproval. It had to be disapproval, though there wasn’t so much as a single censuring note in the way he finally said, “Rule Number Five, love. Admittedly, I did only specify shoes, but in my defense, I assumed you would know to put your clobbers on and not to go nuddy about.”

Both whips were in his hand, coiled and tied. But every experience she had in regards to whips had taught her how easy it was to make them ready for use again. It would have been so easy, especially with that thought running wild in her head, to be afraid of him. And yet, with his face void of expression, and his tone careful not to be too scolding, he made no move to come at her.

He smelled like sunshine, too, her brain supplied.

Like that should make a difference, she wanted the rest of her to argue, but in some weird way… it did make a difference. It was all she could smell, the sunshine, the dust and leather of his boots, the faint spice of his deodorant or soap, and the warm coffee spreading through the house. It made such a difference that, standing there, staring at him with those whips in his hand, her nipples budded into tight little peaks and a single thump of warm neglect pulsed between her tensing legs. She clutched her towel, tightening her thighs in an effort to kill the sensation, but like ripples on a still pond, that thump spread up through her belly, becoming a series of smaller pulses that she could feel steadily throbbing out through her sex and into her womb.
