REVIEW- DRAGON SOUL BY KATIE MacALISTER

dragon soul- cover
NOTHING BURNS HOTTER . . .

Sophea Long knows that escorting her octogenarian client to Europe will be an adventure. Mrs. P has a habit of stealing anything shiny, and the former “hoochikoo dancer” is a lot faster than she looks. But Sophea hadn’t counted on Mrs. P leading her right into the arms of a smoldering, dark-haired stranger who kisses like a dream. If only he’d give up all this nonsense about Sophea being some kind of dragon…

THAN THE FIRE INSIDE

There’s a reason Rowan Dakar is known as the Dragon Breaker. The last thing he needs is to fall for a woman who literally sets him aflame every time they kiss. After all, he has a mission-one that will finally free him of dragonkin for good. He can’t afford to be distracted by the funniest, most desirable woman he’s ever set eyes on. But no prophecy in the world can ever stop true love . . .

Dragon Soul is filled with a lot of laughs that will have you rolling on the floor. The characters and story line are well-developed. When Rowan kills some Dragons by accident, The First Dragon punishes Rowan by enforcing the danegeld. He took four dragon lives, so he must replace those lives by a specific timeline. Which that time is fast approaching. He was sent to retrieve a ring from Mrs. P who stole it, and return it to its rightful owner. They must keep the ring out of Bael’s hands at all cost. Sophea is to get Mrs. P to the boat and then her job is through, at least that was what she thought. Now, she must accompany her on the boat, and apparently perform a series of trials to get to the underworld to help Mrs. P. The humor, and antics of Mrs. P will have you laughing. The chemistry between Rowan and Sophea is hot. I really like the writing of Katie MacAlister.  She is always a go to read for me. I loved this book and series, and I urge you to read it.  I give DRAGON SOUL 5/5 stars.

REVIEW- THE UNDOING BY SHELLY LAURENSTON

the undoing cover
“Laurenston is the queen of paranormal romances that mix over-the-top humor, eccentric characters and sexy, crazy plots to produce addictive stories you won’t want to put down.” –RT Book Reviews

No one would ever accuse Jace Berisha of having an easy life–considering her husband…you know…killed her. But that was then! Now she fights for mighty Viking gods with the spectacular and vicious Crows.

But things are turning very bad, very quickly because a vengeful, ancient goddess has come into the world with just one thing on her mind–ending it. And the only way they can hope to stop her is if the Crows join forces with their one-time enemies, the Protectors. A Viking Clan created to do nothing but kill every Crow they see.

Thankfully, Protector Ski Eriksen is a peace loving kind of guy. Because the woman he is desperately trying to get close to is the beautiful and not-very-chatty Jace. Battling Nordic clans? Unkillable goddesses? Jace’s mean-spirited dog? None of these things would ever get in the way of a true Viking!

“If you enjoy outrageous scenarios, witty banter, and hilariously over-the-top characters, look no further than Shelly Laurenston’s Call of Crows series.”—SmexyBooks, Best Books of the Year

THE UNDOING  is another laugh fest from the brilliant author Shelly Laurenston. In the first book we met Jace, one of the many Crow that live together. When Jace goes into battle she is basically the Crow’s berserker. You do not want to get in her path when she gets really mad. Now, when she is at home she is quiet and is always trying to find a hiding place from her fellow Crows and just read.  Ski Eriksen is a Protector. He is a Protector of the written word. This means he protects anything written that will help them in their fight. When he needs some books translated, he is sent to Jace. She is able to read and speak many languages. This starts many funny moments in the Protector’s house. In typical Shelly Laurenston fashion, you are in for a treat and lots of laughter. I recommend this book and series. If you have not read the first book  The Unleashing (Call Of Crows), I urge you to go and get it. I loved THE UNDOING and give it 5/5 stars.

REVIEW – NOBODY BUT YOU BY JILL SHALVIS

nobody but you cover
From New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis…

SOMETIMES YOU CAN GO HOME AGAIN . . .
After an overseas mission goes wrong, Army Special Forces officer Jacob Kincaid knows where he must go to make things right: back home to the tiny town of Cedar Ridge, Colorado. All he needs to scrub away his painful past is fresh mountain air, a lakeside cabin, and quiet solitude. But what he discovers is a gorgeous woman living on a boat at his dock.

Sophie Marren has nowhere else to go. She’s broke, intermittently seasick, and fighting a serious attraction to the brooding, dishy, I’m-too-sexy-for-myself guy who’s now claiming her dock. Something about Jacob’s dark intensity makes her want to tease-and tempt-him beyond measure. Neither one wants to give any ground . . . until they realize the only true home they have is with each other.

NOBODY BUT YOU is Jill Shalvis at her best!!!! The characters and story line are very well-developed. Sophie had ended her marriage and the only thing she wanted wad the boat. Now she is sea-sick, broke, and trying to find a place to moor the boat for the night. Who would have known she would get seasick.  Now enters Jacob and informs her that she could not dock her boat there. She leaves and finds another place to moor the boat. She has taken a few temporary jobs  to help with her money situation, since she was fired from her last job. Jacob is in town to try and patch things up with his twin, but now he is focused on Sophie. I loved this book, and Sophie and Jacob. If you have not read this series, I urge you to read it. SHADOW RITES is a magical, explosive, action packed ride. In each book Jane grows as a character and in power. Jane and Eli are busy getting ready for the European Mithran to come to town. Now they have another threat in New Orleans. Somebody is using magic against Jane and the rest of the Vampires. During the search for this witch, they find the vampire, Ming Zoya of Mearkanis, who they thought was dead. During this search, Jane is knocked unconscious twice by magical items. Jane might have to give her life to catch this witch. In this story we get the same Beast snark as all the rest. We also get more of the Truebloods and Angie baby. It’s do or die time for Jane. She must find out who is doing this, before she dies trying. I love Jane and Beast. You are always in for a wild, entertaining ride, when you read a Faith Hunter book. I really enjoyed SHADOW RITES and I give it 5/5 stars.
