The length of her eyelashes suggested she was, how should he say, flighty. The straightness of her nose implied a confidence bordering on conceit. The fullness of her lips invited untoward attention. By a connoisseur of women, she would be considered a stunning beauty with her soulful brown eyes, sleek ebony hair, and bronze skin denoting a South Asian heritage, but all Jules recognized was the arrogance of her carriage. She would not be his preferred partner for a treasure hunt.
He sighed. It would be a long afternoon.
About the Author
Celebrated for her complex characters, realistic conflicts, and sensual love scenes, Paullett Golden puts a spin on historical romance. Her novels, set primarily in Georgian and Regency England with some dabbling in Ireland, Scotland, and France, challenge the norm by involving characters who are loved for their flaws, imperfections, and idiosyncrasies. Her stories show love overcoming adversity. Whatever our self-doubts, love will out.
By day, Paullett is a university professor, teaching argumentation, composition & rhetoric, technical/business writing, creative writing, and literature. She enjoys spending time in the places that inspire her stories. While some travel is for work, most travel is for story research to get a sense of the land, the culture, the people, and the history.
As an ovarian cancer survivor, she takes pleasure in every moment. Her hobbies beyond writing include butterfly and pollinator gardening, orchid rescuing, exotic plant collecting, classic car showing, drag racing, motorbike cruising, powerlifting & bodybuilding, music performing, and feathered and furry children raising.
