A house full of grief!

grandma

I just thought I would do a quick post. Saturday, I lost my Grandmother. She was the heart and soul of this family. We will have her funeral tomorrow @10 am. I can’ t seem to stop crying. When I think I am done, a memory, song, smell, picture or phrase will remind me that she is with the Angels. As I write this I am crying. I will forever love you Grandma, and you will never be forgotten.

I’m having the suckiest day ever. First, my father, aka Mr. Grumpy Pants, calls to say his nurse just walked out on him. Likely story. I rush home to pack only to walk in on my husband getting it on with his younger, skanky secretary. Unfortunately, my quick weekend trip home to fix Dad’s problems turns into a stay of a few weeks. Luckily, I’ve got Danny, the neighbor boy I had a crush on when I was a dorky, braces-wearing, nose-buried-in-a-book teenager, and a brand-spanking new blog to keep my mind off things. Before I know it, I’m writing product reviews of vibrators and getting questioned by a store rent-a-cop at the world’s worst date ever. All while trying to figure out how to take things with Danny to the next level. Not to complicate things or anything but my boss decides to give me an ultimatum – come back in four weeks or don’t come back at all. How in the world did my life get so complicated?
Excerpt
Danny clears his throat and turns to me. “I was going to ask you something about your blog.” I raise an eyebrow at him. “Why don’t you ever blog about me?”
I nearly choke on my wine. “Blog about you? The blogs are about my dates.”
“Babe, pay attention.” He grabs my chin. “What do you think we’re doing?”
My eyes nearly pop out of my head. “Being good friends?”
He shakes his head. “Um, no. I’m wooing you.”
“Wooing me?”
“Yeah, wooing.” He points between us. “Do you think I drink wine on my porch with just anyone?”
I’m confused. “You don’t like wine?”
He chuckles. “Look at me. I’m a single guy with a kid. Why would I have wine in the house?”
The dominoes begin to fall in place. “Oh.”
“Yeah, oh. Come over here.”
He takes my wine and places it on the ground next to his glass before firmly grabbing my head and planting his lips on mine. The kiss is soft, sweet, and everything that’s right in the world. And it’s not enough. I want, no need, more. I grab his neck and pull him closer. He growls and grabs my head to tilt it to his liking so he can deepen the kiss. I’m putty in his hands by the time he eases up and pulls back. What. Just. Happened?
About the Author

I grew up reading everything I could get my hands on from my mom’s Harlequin romances to Nancy Drew to Little Woman. When I wasn’t flipping pages in a library book, I was penning horrendous poems, writing songs no one should ever sing, or drafting stories which have thankfully been destroyed. College and a stint in the U.S. Army came along, robbing me of free time to write and read, although I did manage every once in a while to sneak a book into my rucksack between rolled up socks, MRIs, t-shirts, and cold weather gear. A few years into my legal career, I was exhausted, fed up, and just plain done. I quit my job and sat down to write a manuscript, which I promptly hid in the attic after returning to the law. Another job change, this time from lawyer to B&B owner and I was again fed up and ready to scream I quit, which is incredibly difficult when you own the business. Thus, I shut the B&B during the week and in the off-season and started writing. Several books later I find myself in Istanbul writing full-time.

But she has her own secrets. She’s not human—and her newly discovered heritage is causing havoc for her both in the human realm and in Faerie.

To retain as much freedom as possible, she makes a deal to track the source of a new glamour-infused street drug which causes hallucinations that kill—and not just the user. My kindle died and I am lost.

R.I.P MY FAITHFUL FRIEND.

R.I.P MY FAITHFUL FRIEND.

Two days ago my trusty Kindle Fire died. Sniff, Sniff. I have had that Kindle for about five years or longer. When I went to bed my kindle was fine. Woke up about 3:30 in the morning, because I could not sleep and turned my kindle on and it was stuck in a boot loop. I have tried everything that I could find online, and nothing works. Yesterday, I spent nearly all day trying to revive it. No, luck. So, I broke down and ordered me a new one off of Amazon. It has a bigger screen and is lighter and thinner than the old one.

The only thing is I had a game I was playing and did not back it up on Facebook. Now, all that work on the game is lost. I cannot get in to link it to my Facebook account. Now, my poor cities on Empire Z is going to be farms for everyone else. SNIFF, SNIFF. I had 3 accounts and 6 cities on the game. I guess I will have to be content with the ones that I have left. Now, I have to read my books on my phone until I get my new Kindle in 4-5 days. I already feel quit lost without it. Until then I will continue with my morning.

Review -Outside the Lines By Ally Bishop

outside the lines coverBlue. I’ve always been the problem child. My name alone should have warned anyone with a half a mind that I’d be trouble. Who’s named for the broken crayon nobody wants?

Professor Rhys Kennison should have seen me coming a mile away, and I should have known better than to fall for someone so far out of my league. But his touch is like fire and his taste…like the finest chocolate. What woman could resist that combination?

We’re headed for disaster, though—after all, it’s what I know best. No matter how hard I try, I can’t stop destroying anyone who gets too close. And Rhys doesn’t understand. How could he? When I don’t even understand myself?

BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON

I was given a copy of this book by the Author for an Honest Review.
Outside the Lines (Without a Trace Book 4) is a book that shows that when bad things happen, we will find ways to cope with it. I loved this book and fell in love with Blue and Rhys. Blue has been in and out of hospitals, because of her destructive behavior. What she does not know that there is something in her past that she has forgotten about that pushed her to try to cope with it. So, the behavior is a by-product of this event that happened when she was younger. She meets Rhys when she goes to her math Professor to get help with her algebra that she just cannot wrap her mind around it. There first encounter is explosive and they were instantly attracted to one another. As their relationship grows, Rhys helps her find out that she has a learning disability that prevents her from understanding her school work. She also finds out what happened to her when she was younger. OUTSIDE THE LINES is a very hot read, and I give it 5/5 stars.
