THE TURN BY KIM HARRISON

#1 New York Times bestselling author Kim Harrison returns to her beloved Hollows series with The Turn, the official prequel to the series that will introduce you to a whole new side of Rachel Morgan’s world as they’ve never seen it before!

Can science save us when all else fails?

Trisk and her hated rival, Kal, have the same goal: save their species from extinction.

But death comes in the guise of hope when a genetically modified tomato created to feed the world combines with the government’s new tactical virus, giving it an unexpected host and a mode of transport. Plague rises, giving the paranormal species the choice to stay hidden and allow humanity to die, or to show themselves in a bid to save them.

Under accusations of scientific misconduct, Trisk and Kal flee across a plague-torn United States to convince leaders of the major paranormal species to save their supposedly weaker kin, but not everyone thinks humanity should be saved, and Trisk fights the prejudices of two societies to prove that not only does humanity have something to offer, but that long-accepted beliefs against women, dark magic, and humanity itself can turn to understanding; that when people are at their worst that the best show their true strength, and that love can hold the world together as a new balance is found.

REVIEW – THE DRAFTER BY KIM HARRISON

THE DRAFTER
In the first explosive book in the Peri Reed Chronicles, Kim Harrison, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Hollows series, blazes a new frontier with an edge-of-your-seat thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Detroit 2030. Double-crossed by the person she loved and betrayed by the covert government organization that trained her to use her body as a weapon, Peri Reed is a renegade on the run. Don’t forgive and never forget has always been Peri’s creed. But her day job makes it difficult: she is a drafter, possessed of a rare, invaluable skill for altering time, yet destined to forget both the history she changed and the history she rewrote. When Peri discovers her name is on a list of corrupt operatives, she realizes that her own life has been manipulated by the agency. Her memory of the previous three years erased, she joins forces with a mysterious rogue soldier in a deadly race to piece together the truth about her fateful final task. Her motto has always been only to kill those who kill her first. But with nothing but intuition to guide her, will she have to break her own rule to survive?

BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON

Kim Harrison has another hit on her hands! THE DRAFTER a roller coaster of a ride! I love the character of Peri Reed. She is a drafter, one who can change the timeline. This book does not have the humor like the last series. It is more a Sci-Fi/Thriller, and will have you on the edge of your seat. Sometimes Peri will draft and she will not know she is doing it. Her last draft rewrote time when a mission went wrong and they had to kill a security guard, and Peri was shot. Now she has changed the timeline, and everything will start going to hell in a hand basket. She will have to find out who is telling the truth, her boss or someone else. This will take you on a wild ride in finding what the truth is. I loved this book and recommend it to everyone. I give THE DRAFTER 5/5 STARS.

BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON

Kim Harrison does it again with this final installment of the HOLLOWS SERIES. It has taken me a while to figure out what to say. It is always hard to say goodbye to your favorite characters. Rachel, Trent, Jenks, and Ivy are some of the most well-written characters that I have seen. I will miss Jenk’s little sayings, they always bring a smile to my face. Rachel has had so much character growth, with her powers, and relationships. Kim Harrison ties up everything very nicely. Rachel  has to find out how to give vampires back their soul, once they get their soul, what will keep them from committing suncide. Things just don’t go the way Rachel wants it to go. So things go to hell in a handbasket. This has been a hard review to do. I just don’t want the ride to end, so I just kept putting it off, but I took the bull by  the horns and wrote the review. For anyone who has not read this series, I urge to start it. This series will make you laugh, and cry. So now I give THE WITCH WITH NO NAME 5/5 stars. Great series, and great characters.

I HAVE BEEN NOMINATED FOR THE LIEBSTER AWARD

LIEBSTER AWARD

I want to thank Sumaira at http://hyperaboutbooks.wordpress.com/ for nominating me for the Liebster Award. This is a great honor and would like to thank everyone who read my blog. You are the reason I am here.

A Liebster Award is a blog award presented to bloggers, by other bloggers. It is just a nice way to give your fellow blogger a pat on the back, and hopefully increase their site traffic too!

So here are the rules I was given:

  1. Each nominee must link back the person who nominated them.
  2. Answer the 11 questions which are given to you by the nominator.
  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers for this award who have less than 200 followers.
  4. Create 11 questions for your nominees to answer.

My questions from hyperaboutbooks:

  1. What book do you wish you never read?

Johnny Tremain in 8th grade english class. To me that book was so boring, that I had to force myself to finish reading it.

One book at a time. This is a hard one to choose

  1. Your favourite underrated book?

The Nightlife series by Rob Thurman.

  1. If you were trapped on a desert island and could only take 2 books with you what would they be and why?

This is a hard one to choose. It would probably be an Anthology with my favorite authors in it and Patricia Briggs  FROST BURNED.

  1. Do you buy books based on beautiful covers?

No, by what the story is about.

  1. What do you think about E-readers and Ebooks?

I love them. I can find many free e-books online, and I have more room for books on my shelves.

  1. Is there a book/books you have multiple copies of?

Flame and the Flower by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss, and Dead Witch Walking By Kim Harrison. I own the paperback and hardback copy.

  1. Favourite place to read?

In my favorite chair in the living room.

  1. Do you use bookmarks or fold over the pages?

I use a bookmark, or card, or piece of paper.

  1. Do you write in or highlight quotes/sections in book, or do you use post sticks or nothing at all?

Nothing at all.

  1. What inspired you to blog? And why?
