RULES OF CONTACT BY JACI BURTON – REVIEW

rules of contact - cover
In the new Play-By-Play novel by the New York Times bestselling author of Unexpected Rush, a football player who knows how to win on the field needs a better game plan for his love life.

A defensive end for the San Francisco Sabers, Flynn Cassidy is used to being in the spotlight—he just doesn’t enjoy it. But if getting in front of the cameras will help his new restaurant succeed, he’s willing. Now if he could just meet a woman who loved him and not his fame…

After her divorce, Amelia Lawrence is thrilled to start over as head chef at Ninety-Two. It’s just the opportunity she needs to heat up her career—if only she wasn’t wildly attracted to her sexy new boss. Their chemistry might be sizzling hot, but Amelia has no intention of being burned again.

Flynn can’t get enough of Amelia, and Amelia loves every second she spends with the tough yet tender Flynn. But trust is a hard-fought battle for both. Breaking the rules of contact and surrendering to their passion was the easy part. Are they willing to risk their hearts to win at the game of love?

BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley for an honest review.

Rules of Contact (A Play-by-Play Novel) is a sexy addition to the Play-By-Play novels!! Flynn seems to always pick the wrong woman to go out with! The women just want their fifteen minutes of fame. Instead of just going our with him for the great guy he is, they just want him to help to get them in the spotlight! Amelia doesn’t know if she is ready to get back in the dating game after being divorced for a little over a year, but when Flynn starts paying her more attention, she might just be ready.  The only thing that can destroy their happiness is if someone believes she is dating Flynn to advance her career. This is a wonderful book!! If you have not read a book by Jaci Burton, I urge you to do so now. I loved the characters and story. I give RULES OF CONTACT 5/5 STARS.

TODAY AT WORK WAS HELLLLLLLLLL!!!

Today was one of those days that you wished you never got out of bed. I was almost late for work, because I fell back to sleep sitting in my chair after I ate breakfast. When I arrived at work and went to the photo lab, management wanted me to do some touch up cleaning on the photo lab. This put me behind in getting pictures developed. The machine was acting up and I had to wait to fix it until I finished the cleaning by 10 am. I arrived at work at 8:30am. The closing person from yesterday left notes telling me to call in our Rimage machine that makes our archive discs. I looked at the machine and it had a disc stuck in it and needed a new ribbon put in it. After I did this it was still not working. I had to reboot the machine and it started working.

The photo printer machine has been down since Thursday. It has been printing lines in the photos, it has been a nightmare since the holidays. We would get the problem fixed and the next day at around noon it would do it again. Now they want us to keep a log of how many pictures print until lines show up in the pictures. Then we need to do a rear print pattern check, and if there is any broken lines in the patterns then we need to do a normal or powerful print head cleaning. Between doing this and helping customers and being griped at by customers, it was a HELLLLLL  of a day. I had to reprint pictures for 5 customers that wanted them right then and there. The machine did not want to co-operate with me. I did not get to take my first break until I took my lunch at around 1 o’clock.

Things did not get any better after I got back from lunch. They seem to have gotten worse with more customers getting mad that their pictures are not done, and the machine still printing lines in the pictures. I just wanted to take the machine out back and shoot it full of holes and then drop it off a cliff. I got my last break waiting for my manager so he could change my schedule for tomorrow so I could get off work early to go to my physical therapy appointment. I asked him to check next weeks schedule, because I am only scheduled 20 hours. I am full-time and I am supposed to get 35-40 hours. He said that they were cutting hours and he was not sure if he could give me anymore hours. He would talk with the store manager and see if he could give me anymore. He said he will let me know Friday. I am getting sleepy , so I will go for now. See you tomorrow.

HOW TO CATCH A HUMAN (NINTH INSTALLMENT)

“If you don’t believe me why don’t you try one” Doe was proudly showing his donuts off to his skeptic friends.

They all gave grim faces accept Munchkin who bravely bite’s into the donut as the other’s stare at Munchkin for his brave act.

Munchkin thumped his foot against the forest floor “Try it… try it…!” He bounces around in a delightful joy only to shove his face in the donuts.

As the others looked at the strange looking food, Shorty the all so spunky squirrel “It can’t be that bad” She acclaimed, pinching her nose she bravely took a bite of the strange donut. She ran around only to spit out the donuts.
“It’s that bad…” She shook her head as the others stared amazed as she changed from green to blue.

“Oh… My! What pretty colors!” Hoss accliamed, tinkering with his glasses, he gave a serious look.

Shorty ran sticking her head into a stream that happened nearby, as she sat up with a relieved sigh.

The others pointed and laughed, as she looked at her extremely fluffy fur.

“Never again will I eat donuts…” She rubbed her tongue with a fresh fern leaf to cure the taste of the extremely bitter treat.

Munchkin showed little concern for what was going on, only to enjoy his fine snack with great persistence.

Hoss sat next to Munchkin “I do not think these so called ‘Donuts’ are for human consumption.”

“What is Consumption?” Emmykins asked with a bewildered look upon her face.

Hoss glasses tinkled in the sunlight as he gave a serious looked he tap his head with his feathers “It means to eat or to use” He gave an explanation.
Emmykins giggled pointing at Munchkin “He’s consumptioning!” She giggle repeating herself as she bounce around Munchkin.

Doe gave a bewildered looked as he tried to figure out what was wrong with his donuts.
“I don’t understand?” He questioned his self.

“Oh… what is it this time Doe?” Hoss asked with extreme distraction.

“My Donuts turned Shorty into a rainbow!” He acclaimed.

Hoss shook his head “Tsk! Tsk! Humans cannot eat those contraptions.” He shook his head with the flick of his feathers. “No…No! This simply won’t do!” Hoss agreed with his self.

HOW TO CATCH A HUMAN(SEVENTH INSTALLMENT)

“Hey, look I have the perfect snack to use for our trap.” said Doe.

“What do you have?” said Hoss.

“Just come and look at these are amazing!” stated Doe.

Hoss worked his way over there and looked; he put his wing on his beak and shakes his head a little. He looked at Doe and looked over to the others and let out a soft chuckle.

“You need to come and see these amazing goodies.” The others make their way over to them.

“Wait! What is that??” said Emmykins, pointing at the five rolled balls.

“That is food, well it will be food after I find some loose bark to spice the flavors.” said Doe.

“That doesn’t look very appetizing Doe.” said Elmo.

“I will eat it!” said Munchkin jumping up and down .

“Yeah, let Munchkin try It.” giggled Shorty.

“No, not yet it isn’t completely perfect yet.” said Doe.
