THE MANY SINS OF LORD CAMERON BY JENNIFER ASHLEY – WILL SHE BE SINFUL WITH HIM?

THE MANY SINS OF LORD CAMERONA renowned rake, Cameron Mackenzie doesn’t care if Ainsley Douglas has a virtuous excuse for sneaking around his bedchamber. He only cares that she’s at his mercy. One kiss at a time, he plans to seduce her. But what starts out as a lusty diversion may break Cam’s own rules.

The characters and story line are well-developed. Jennifer Ashley knows her craft. Ainsley Douglas is married, but her husband is elderly. She is found in Lord Cameron’s bedroom while secretly looking for a necklace that was left by another woman, that could cause a big scandal if that necklace was ever found. He starts to seduce Ainsley but she feels she is betraying her elderly husband and flees.

Six years later her husband has died and now she is an aide to the Queen.  Someone is blackmailing the Queen with some letter that she had written to an admirer and it is Ainsley’s job to get them back. Lord Cameron finds Ainsley once again rooting around in his bedroom and he is not about to let her go again without having a night with her delectable body in his bed. But the chase proves to be better than the catching, and when he finds out about the blackmail scheme he helps to find out who is behind it all while loosing his heart in the process.

The Many Sins Of Lord Cameron was a great read. It was fun watching Lord Cameron fall for Ainsley. When he worked with his horses you saw a different side to him than what he showed to everyone else. So I gave The Many Sins Of Lord Cameron a 4/5 stars.

SAVING SAVANNAH BY SANDRA HILL WILL SHE BE SAVED?

SAVING SAVANNAH

Book Description

Publication Date: September 30, 2013

When Tante Lulu decides to matchmaker, matches are made. But this time, her meddling Cajun charm will be put to the test . . .

For five years Savannah Jones thought Special Forces Captain Matthew Carrington died in Afghanistan. For five years he thought she’d rejected him—thanks to his mother’s interception of the letter she wrote to him as he left on his tour of duty. Now she’s struggling to re-build a life for herself and their daughter, Katie, despite the devastation Katrina wrought on New Orleans. Thanks to Tante Lulu and her police-officer great-nephew, Tee-John, Savannah and Matthew are about to be reunited. Will Tante Lulu’s bayou wisdom and sassy attitude be able to turn their broken relationship into a loving gumbo?

Sandra Hill is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than thirty romantic humor novels. Whether they be historicals, contemporaries, time travels, or Christmas novellas, whether they be about Vikings, Cajuns, Navy SEALs or sexy Santas, the common element in all her books is humor. It’s been said that love makes the world go ’round, but in Sandra’s world, love with a dash of laughter, makes it spin.

I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK BY NET GALLEY FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.
I love Tante Lulu with her busy body ways and her outrageous fashion sense. She always wants to help people by way of St. Jude. She believes he is pointing her in the direction to someone who needs her help. In this case she is it is Savannah and Katie who lives in their car. Savannah believes that her fiancé Matt is dead for the past 6 years. At least that is what his snooty mother tells her. Savannah was never good enough for her son; she was not born of their social class. She was found on the steps of a church and later adopted by loving parents.
When Matt asked her to marry her before he was deployed to Afghanistan she was ecstatic, but she was never able to tell him she was pregnant before he was MIA. So for 6 years she tought he was dead and now Tante Lulu has to reunite the loving couple before savannah runs off to Alaska with Katie and Matt loses her again. This is a story of families butting in where they shouldn’t and hurting a relationship and true love. Also denying a child the love of a father and the love of grandparents all because they think they are too good for them. Social class is nothing, but family is everything. When you have the love of family, you are richer for it.

I loved the story line and the character development of this story, and also seeing characters from past books. Everybody needs a Tante Lulu in their family. Somebody that is their willing to help, no questions asked (well with her there is always questions asked). Matt and Savannah were happy together, they didn’t care about social standing. All they cared about is that they loved each other, until his mother stepped in and told Savannah he was dead. I loved this story so I gave it a 5 /5 stars.

BOOK REVIEW: THE GREAT GATSBY by F. SCOTT FITZGERALD

The Great Gastby

I read the book over the last weekend and spent quite a time as its length would not suggest. Some would say its a tragic love story with crime and corrupted minds. But I say its a very close resemblance to Fitzgerald’s own life, especially his struggle for his own love. That is the main theme. The story starts with Nick Carraway’s narration when he visits his cousin, Daisy. Nick, is an exceptionally mild person to the point of being dull. But through this narration framed in the thoughts of an exceedingly dull person Fitzgerald creates characters and lays out scenes that are vivid and bright and engaging.

By coincidence or by luck, Jay Gatsby, the lavish millionaire who throws extravagant parties to celebrate his wealth, is the neighbor of Nick. The story intertwines with Nick’s cousin Daisy Buchanan who is Gatsby’s long lost first love and still the object of his desire, Daisy’s husband Tom Buchanan who is having an affair with Myrtle Wilson.

It’s a mild story and the gripping depends all on the reader mind. With insignificant complexity the plot is an impressive display of analysis through rhetoric.

There are some similarities between the author Fitzgerald and the character Gatsby. Both had the opportunities to attend world’s most prestigious universities, Princeton and Oxford, but failed to graduate either of them. Both also attended the army. These are some insignificant similarities, though.

But the analogousness between them is the love of their lives. Both of them fell in love being young and neither of them could provide what their ladies, Zelda and Daisy, wanted. Both of these ladies were highly interested in money, and terminated their relationships. In Gatsby’s case, Daisy promised to wait but instead dated many men and married Tom Buchanan. In Scott’s case, he was engaged to Zelda and he went to New York seeking fortune but his plans took longer than expected. Thus, Zelda broke their engagement. It was not until the first book which made him rich enough to marry Zelda.

Both Daisy and Zelda resemble each other. They both were unloyal to their respective lovers. Gatsby’s struggle to get back his love fully resembles the struggle Scott might have experienced.

But as story needs to have an ending, Fitzgerald wrote down one possibility of his own love life could have ended or in other words the ending.

I quite like the story and the way it is written. It is, no doubt, one of the American Classics.

4.5 out of 5 from me.

I HURT SO MUCH TODAY THAT I COULD NOT SLEEP LATE

With a cold front that was moving in and my niece shared my bed with me, because her allergies were acting up. My other niece stayed the night with us and they have cats and my oldest niece is allergic to them that she had to stay in my room. Her mom had her bed and my younger niece had my sister’s bed, and me and my other niece had my bed. All night long my knee and legs were hurting because of my arthritis and my bad knee from the cold front moving in.

I was up several times to get some pain medication or just try to work the soreness out. By 7:15 I decided to get up. I normally don’t get up until 9 or10o’clock. So this was really early, especially with the new time change.  I thought I would get to take a nap, but I did not get to. I probably won’t go to bed until late again. I did not go to sleep last night until around 1 am. I hope I get to bed sooner. I hate having arthritis , for I am constantly in some small amount of pain every day of the week. It seems it never stops.  One day I hope to have some time or a whole day of no pain, that would be great.
