Rancher Cooper Thorne thinks his life is finally on an even keel—until Delta Dandridge steps off the stagecoach and claims she’s his mail order bride. Brash and quick-witted, the meddling Southern Belle is everything Cooper thought he never wanted…and everything his heart is telling him he needs.

Excerpt

Delta covered the space between them so quickly Bandit scurried for safer territory. She glared up into eyes that reminded her of a cold winter’s day. “I can’t believe this. You have a lot of gall, Mr. Thorne. The way I see it, you gave up your right to meddle in my affairs when you told me in no uncertain terms that you weren’t looking for a wife. Therefore, what I do is none of your concern. If I want to—”

“Do what?” Cooper brushed her cheek with a fingertip. “Women like you won’t throw your reputation to the wind. You want it all or nothing.”

She glared. “You’re awfully sure of yourself.”

“I know more than you think.” His words were soft. “I see the yearning for permanence in your eyes. Dear God, you’re a difficult woman to forget.”

Cooper tugged her against his lean body, lowered his head, and pressed his sensual lips firmly on hers. The long kiss held passion and promise and warmth. Delta’s breath got caught somewhere between the need for more and wishing she’d stayed in town, far away from men who indulged in contradictory behavior.

Her knees grew weak and she clutched the shirt covering his broad chest to keep from falling as the world tilted on its axis.

As the kiss deepened, their breaths mingled in a heated flurry while blood pounded in her ears. She heard a low moan and realized it came from her. Strange how it sounded so very far away.

Her stomach whirled and dipped as though she’d fallen from a great height. Tingles raced up her spine in some kind of mindless confusion. The anger that had propelled her into dangerous territory melted away and left a strange desire in its wake. Before she could unclench her hands from his shirt to take a step back, he released her.

The kiss ended suddenly, leaving her wanting more.

Cooper’s sinful half smile turned her knees to jelly. “And that, Miss Delta, is how we do things here in Texas.”

REVIEW

TEXAS MAIL ORDER BRIDE is a sweet Texas romance. I always love to read about cowboys in the old  west.  That time period for me is so romantic, even-though it was a very harsh time period.  Who wouldn’t love a cowboy? I keep asking Santa for one and I never get one. Maybe because I am on the naughty list every year. The characters and story line are very well-developed. Delta Dandrige is on her way to Battle Creek, Texas to marry a man she has not met yet. She answered an ad for a mail order bride, but when she gets there Cooper Thorne informs her that he never sent of for a bride or placed an ad. So, Delta gets a job at the local mercantile. After that meeting Cooper cannot seem to get Miss Dandrige off his mind. When she is kidnapped by someone from Cooper’s past, he finds out that he really loves Delta and cannot live without her. This is such a heartwarming tale, and the cowboys even hotter. I give TEXAS MAIL ORDER BRIDE 5/5 stars.

BOOK REVIEW FOR “ONE LUCKY VAMPIRE” BY LYNSAY SANDS

Product Details

No one does wickedly funny and irresistibly steamy like New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands—especially in this red-hot romance between a reluctant vampire and the beauty who needs his help.

Luck be a vampire tonight . . .

When Nicole Phillips agreed to hire a housekeeper, she pictured someone a little frumpy and almost certainly female. Instead, she gets gorgeous, unmistakably male Jake Colson. The man is proving indispensable in the kitchen—and everywhere else. Except Jake might not be a mortal man at all.

. . . and every night

Who wouldn’t want to be a tall, dark, powerful vampire?Jake, for one. He’s barely had time to adjust to his newstate before he’s roped into a family favor. Still, secretly playing bodyguard to sweet, sexy Nicole is turning out to be the wildest ride of his life. First, he’ll put a stop to whoever’s targeting her. Then he’ll prove that this kind of love, and luck, happens only once in an eternity.

I always love a good Lynsay Sands book. The story line was great, and the characters were well- developed. I really loved Jake and Nicole. They were very believable characters, and their character’s grew as the story progressed. Jake had to accept that he was not a monster, when he was turned like in all the  horror movies he watched as a kid. Nicole had to learn to trust Jake enough to fall in love with him and let him turn her. The one that is stalking he and trying to kill them, you will never guess. It is a nice little twist to the story. Lynsay Sands signature humor is right there in every page. I give this book 5/5 stars. I cannot wait until the next one.

ALWAYS ON MY MIND

Today, I just started reading ALWAYS ON MY MIND BY JILL SHALVIS. This is part of her Lucky Harbor Series, featuring Jack Harper and Leah Sullivan, who are longtime friends who grew up together in Lucky Harbor. Only Jack does not know that Leah has had a thing for him ever since they were young, but now Leah tells a lie to his Mom that they are a couple so she won’t think she is the reason that Jack can’t find a lasting relationship. This makes his mom so happy that he can’t tell her it is not true, so they continue the lie. Will their friendship suffer, or will LOVE, AND COMMITMENT BLOOM OUT OF THIS LIE.

I am only 38 pages into the book and it is already getting good. So once I finish it I will give you my review and recommendations on the book.  So happy reading.  : )
