I was writing to let everyone know the status of my Grandmother. She is doing very well. They did put a feeding tube in her stomach since she is still having a little trouble swallowing. They also moved her to Health South rehabilitation facility, so they can concentrate on her rehabilitation. They say she might be in there two months or more. This is the first night that no one has stayed with her since she had the stroke. It has hard for everyone to leave her by herself. I think she was even a little scared to be by herself also.
It is kind of scary to face something like that, and be a little vulnerable and not be able to help yourself. Especially be able to call out to family to help you. You always know family are always there for you. It will be kind of hard not having her with us at the table on Thanksgiving, but she will be with us in spirit. Mom and Grandpa will be going to see her tomorrow on Thanksgiving, and my niece and I will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner.
Happy Thanksgiving, and appreciate life and those around you. For you never know when you might lose them. Tell them you love them, and if you are having troubles nothing is worth losing the love of family. They are the heart and soul that keeps us going on, so love them and thank the Lord that you have them.
With Thanksgiving just 6 days away, I sit here wondering what everyone is most thankful for this year? A lot of you already know what I am thankful for, and it was a recent occurrence . I am thankful that I have the most remarkable lady still with us. Even though we almost lost her to a stroke she is a fighter. She was even fighting with us when the EMT’s arrived, she was telling us that she was not having a stroke that it was a seizure and she was fine and she did not need to go to the hospital.
She is getting stronger each and everyday. and now that we that we have dismissed the neurologist that was treating her, she is a lot better. That doctor is a quack and should not practice, he had only saw my grandmother once the whole time she has been in the hospital. Now that we have a doctor who knows what he is doing she is making progress. So I am grateful this Thanksgiving for the most remarkable woman, my Grandmother Ethel Steward, who is not letting a stroke beat her. She is beating it.
Tell me what you are thankful for this Thanksgiving.
I am also thankful for all of you, my community who read my blog. If it was not for all of you and your prayers, I might not have my Grandmother still with me. So I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart, you don’t know how much it meant to me. So thank you.
