I have been sick for about a month now. It started last month and I went to the doctor on March 19, 2014 and was given a round of antibiotics and some cough medicine. I finished the medicine up and got my voice back but kept the cough. I went back to the doctor on April 9, 2014 because I had a relapse and lost my voice again. I still had the cough and congestion. So far it has not turned into bronchitis or pneumonia, it has stayed as laryngitis. I still can not talk above a whisper and have the cough and congestion. I am almost out of medication for it. I guess if I am not over it when I go back in on April 30 for my check-up since the doctor put me on a new diet pill and put me on byetta.
I usually once a year get laryngitis, but the wind has been really bad here in west Texas that my allergies have been kicked into overdrive. That is what started this whole mess. This has been the longest that I have been sick in a while. I don’t know what I did today, but my knee and back is killing me. It might be the cold front that moved in last night that is making me hurt. I am going to call it a night and turn in. I will talk with you tomorrow.
I have been having too much fun to write. Yesterday I chased off three cats who were in the backyard. That sure was fun watching them scatter. The squirrel has been pestering Cissy and me here lately. I went outside the other day to do my business and I was dive bombed by a crow and that blasted squirrel. I would have had both of them if I was not chained up, because I like to go exploring out of the yard. The squirrel likes to tease me by walking on the fence or hiding in the tree. If it would just stand still and let me play with it we would have so much fun. the squirrel always runs away.
Also when they let me back in the house they still will not share their food with me. Like the other day they had pizza and I wanted some and they would not let me have it. I begged and pleaded, and even tried talking earnestly with my master but she still would not let me have any. I also tried to see what she was drinking in her cup the other day and licked her straw and her sister caught me. They then started calling me a freak because I like to lick their straws. I have been having so much fun. I also was taken to the pet store to pick out some cookies, because we ran out. I don’t know who is eating them all but they have to quite. I have been terrorizing Cissy and it has been great. I constantly hide her toys and when she is not looking I steal her treats. Heh… Hehh.
Well it is time to go to bed and I just thought I would try to catch you up on some things. I will talk with you tomorrow. Charlie out.
Today Grandma had a busy day. My Aunt made arrangements to have the lady who usually cuts my grandma’s hair to come to her room at the west campus in Midland. My Grandmother was so excited to get her hair cut. She is doing better and better every day, Now that she is out of that place she was at. II don’t know when, it could be tomorrow. She is being transferred to Stanton at a Rehabilitation facility there. She has been having more spasticity in her arm and leg. They have her on muscle relaxers so it won’t be so painful for her.
With all the setbacks that she has had, infections, dehydration, pneumonia, and abuse, she has not had a lot of therapy on left her arm, and leg. Since she has been at the west campus, she has done a lot better. She has had the feeding tube removed from her stomach, and is eating solid food. It is either cut real small or is soft enough so that she can chew or swallow it easily without getting choked. Her left arm has moved on it’ own twice. This is good news. It means that the brain is trying to wakeup or make new pathways. This means that one day that she could suddenly just move her arm. That is why she needs the therapy to keep the muscles from becoming stiff and atrophy, so when it does happen she can move her arm.
If you set limits on yourself, you will never go beyond those limits and get better. If you tell yourself hat you will walk and move your arm one day. YOU WILL DO IT. You will have set backs along the way, that is only expected. The brain an heal itself if given the right tools to do it with, Nutrition, vitamins and minerals, exercise. There is still a lot we don’t know about the brain, or how it can heal itself. All I know right now is that I am happy that I still have my Grandmother still with us. So anyone in the family who reads this would like to visit her when she does get moved to the Stanton facility, It is called Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation.
You have probably noticed that I have been posting a lot less here lately. I have been battling severe allergies that have turned into severe congestion and laryngitis. I still have a little congestion and I seem to not be able to get rid of the dang cough. I went to the doctor last week for my 3 month check up and she put me on a new pill to try to help me lose weight. It is a combination of two medications and is supposed to have better results than the medication being separate. This is when she also prescribed medicine for the congestion.
I am out of the medicine to dry up the congestion, but I still have antibiotics left. I am taking OTC mucinex TO HELP GET RID OF THE CONGESTION. I don’t know if it is all the congestion or what, but here lately I have been really tired. I know it can’t be my iron , because the doctor keeps an eye on it. So I have no clue why I am tired all the time. I will try to post more than I have, but when you are sick, and tired your brain doesn’t work very well. It is hard to think of things to write about. I will talk with you next time.
Sorry that I have not been posting here recently. Things here at home and at work have been crazy. By the time I get to relax in my chair and get ready to post, I am so tired that I end up falling asleep. It is also taking me longer to read a book than it did in the past. Lastly we had a cold front move in and it was blowing a lot of dust and everything. Well now my allergies are all acting up. My sinus’ are all stuffed up, and it is starting to turn into a cold. I am also losing my voice now. Usually when the wind kicks up like that around this time of year, I will get laryngitis. I usually get it at least once a year, at the beginning of the year, or end of the year.
I guess with losing my voice and when so cannot think of anything to write, I have total writers block. I have been trying to write on my novel at work on my break, but it seems that I have noting to say rich now. Well I am going to go back to sleep, will talk with you later.
