“Frisky…Tells a rather sweet love story, and suggests that being a wolf may be more comfortable for a strong, smart woman than being human.” –The New York Times Book Review Elena Michaels seems like the typically strong and sexy modern woman, She lives with her architect boyfriend, writes for a popular newspaper, and works out at the gym. She’s also a werewolf. Elena has done all she can to assimilate to the human world, but the man whose bite changed her existence forever, and his legacy, continue to haunt her. Thrown into a desperate war for survival that tests her allegiance to a secret clan of werewolves, Elena must recon with who, and what, she is in this passionate, page-turning novel that begins the Women of the Otherworld series.
Bitten is a wonderful novel that take a whole new spin on the werewolf genre. It’s characters are well-developed, and the story pulls you in and does not let you go until the very last page. Elena is one kick ass female character and werewolf, and does not take any crap from anyone. She is the only woman to survive being bitten by a werewolf, all the others have died. There are no females born with the wolf gene, they are passed down in the male line from father to son. Clay is her mate and is very protective of her. She is brought back into the Pack when strange murders start occurring in New York. The different characters help to move the story along, and providing a mix of humor, seriousness, and darkness to the story. If you are looking for a fun, dark, sexy read, then this is the one for you.
They are also making this into a T.V. Series on the SyFy channel January 13,2014 on Space channel January 11, 2013. If you were a fan of Smallville and caught the last few seasons, then you have seen the lead for Bitten. Laura Vandervoort will star in the 13-part series. I give this book 5/5 stars.
