Jaye Wells delivers another great book in the Prospero War saga, with exceptional world building and character development. She always delivers. Now when we left Kate in th last book, DIRTY MAGIC ,Kate had just helped taking the drug Wild Wolf off the street. She was also a key factor in saving her brother by cooking and using dirty magic. Now it is a while later and it is almost Halloween and the Blue Moon is upsetting everyone’s magic. When someone steals potions from the MYSTICAL COVEN OF THE SACRED ORGASM, SHE has to find them before Aphrodite the head of the O coven does. Secrets will be revealed, friendships are strained, but everything is put to rights by the CURSED MOON. I give this book 5/5 stars, and recommend this series to everyone.

BOOK REVIEW – Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels Book 7) BY ILONA ANDREWS

MAGIC BREAKS BY ILONA ANDREWS
Book Description
Publication Date: July 29, 2014
No matter how much the paranormal politics of Atlanta change, one thing always remains the same: if there’s trouble, Kate Daniels will be in the middle of it…

As the mate of the Beast Lord, Curran, former mercenary Kate Daniels has more responsibilities than it seems possible to juggle. Not only is she still struggling to keep her investigative business afloat, she must now deal with the affairs of the pack, including preparing her people for attack from Roland, a cruel ancient being with god-like powers. Since Kate’s connection to Roland has come out into the open, no one is safe—especially those closest to Kate.

As Roland’s long shadow looms ever nearer, Kate is called to attend the Conclave, a gathering of the leaders from the various supernatural factions in Atlanta. When one of the Masters of the Dead is found murdered there, apparently at the hands of a shapeshifter, Kate is given only twenty-four hours to hunt down the killer. And this time, if she fails, she’ll find herself embroiled in a war which could destroy everything she holds dear…

This is one AWESOME book!! We all know that a lot happened in MAGIC RISES , and Aunt B died. Well the shit hits the fan again. Curran the Beast Lord has to go out-of-town to handle some Pack business, and Kate is left to take care of business with the Conclave between the People and the Pack. Kate and the People have almost closed up business with an amicable solution, when Hugh shows up. We all know that this is not going to be all cute puppies and roses with this meeting. Kate is basically shell-shocked, because she thinks that he died when the castle burned and he had a broken back; courtesy of Curran; that prevented him from escaping. He shows up with that smugness that you just want to beat out of him. He is only there just a few minutes when all hell breaks loose and Kate and the Pack are on the run for their life.

During all this Kate is worried about Curran, because she believes that it was a setup to get him out-of-town. After all the running Kate finally meets her Dad (Roland), and the battle begins. Kate finally lets down her barriers to keep her power contained, and we see an even more Bad-Ass Kate. MAGIC BREAKS  has non-stop action, laughter, and tear jerking drama. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next.  I give MAGIC BREAKS 5/5 STARS. It is definitely worth reading.

SOULS OF THE DAMNED BY E.S. MOORE – BOOK REVIEW

AVAILABLE JUNE 19, 2014

Book Description

June 19, 2014
Innocence is relative, and evil is damned hard to kill. . .Kat Redding would love to take a break from the gruesome, dangerous work of hunting down rogue vampires and werewolves, battling for innocent lives. But there’s no peace for Lady Death. Until Kat’s young charge, Sienna, appears on her doorstep, escaped from the shadow-paradise of Delai. Sienna is weak, confused, desperate–human in the utmost. If Kat is going to have any hope of breaking the hold of Delai, she’ll have to infiltrate the walls around the false sanctuary. And the only way she can do that is to trade in her battle-hardened, bloodthirsty vampire’s body–for Sienna’s human form. With no weapons but her wits, Kat has to trust a demon, defeat an angel, and wrestle with her own rebel soul–because with all the fear and death she’s conquered, no one has ever offered her another day under a warm yellow sun. . .Praise for E.S. I was given a copy of this book by NETGALLEY for an honest REVIEW.

E.S MOORE does it again with his newest novel SOULS OF THE DAMNED. His world building and story telling is outstanding. His characters and story line is well-developed. SOULS OF THE DAMNED takes you on a wild ride you will never forget.  When Sienna shows up at her doorstep, Kate knows she has to do everything she can to destroy the town of  Delia and the Angel controlling the town. One problem, Kate cannot enter the town, she was banned by Levi. When she goes to the place the town should exist, nothing is there. How can she enter the town without Levi knowing she is there? The demon Beligral offers to transfer Sienna’s and her souls that way Kate would be in Sienna’s body and Sienna’s soul in her body. This would allow Kate to enter Delia and find the one who summoned the angel Di’leviathan (Levi). This was a fast-paced read that had me wanting more. I give SOULS OF THE DAMNED 5/5 STARS. I recommend this series to everyone, it is a great series to read.

REVIEW FOR “GUNMETAL MAGIC” BY ILONA ANDREWS

Gunmetal Magic  If you are a fan of the Kate Daniels series, then you will love this book. This is Andrea’s story after she has been kicked out of the Order of the Knights of  Merciful Aid. Everyone now knows that she is a shifter and that she is beastkin, and her life is in shambles. She is trying to put her life back together, and while she is doing this she is working for Kate at her investigative firm, Cutting Edge.

When she is called in to investigate a local dig site that shifters from  the local Bouda clan die. She has to work with her former lover Raphael  Medrano, who owns the dig site, to find the killer before anyone else gets hurt. Can she keep her feelings and her temper under control around him or will she lose her heart once again?

I loved this book. It was another well written book by the husband and wife team. One of my favorite parts is where she had to go all beastkin and had to stay that way for the whole day. Otherwise she would be done for the day.  In comes Kate and Curran and Andrea is sitting at her chair leaning back drinking a cold drink with goop all over her, and they don’t really bat an eye at her. There are a lot of funny moments in this book, so be prepared to laugh a lot.

I give this 5/5 stars.
