TODAY I HAVE BEEN BAKING

German Chocolate Cake.

Sorry, I have not posted yet. I have been baking. My German chocolate cake turned into German chocolate brownies. My cake fell while it was baking in the oven. I guess when my brother-in-law and nephew came in from the store and they shut the door it made the cake fall. So now we have German chocolate brownies. They are surprisingly good. My sister also made snowballs. They are cream cheese, pineapple mixed together, then rolled into coconut. She also made soft fudge, and my niece made sugar cookies.

My dad wanted some hard fudge so I found a recipe and made him some. I still have to make a pumpkin pie for my grandfather, but I will make it tomorrow. In the morning I will put the ham in the oven, and make the stuffing. Tomorrow will be a busy day and I don’t know if I will get a post in. Also I don’t know if I told you yet, but the nerves in my grandmother’s legs, and wrist are waking up.

She was complaining of being in pain, and the nurse told her that was because the nerves were waking up. She replied “They can just go back to sleep.” She wanted them to go back to sleep so she wouldn’t be in pain. Also the place she is in now, one of the nurses told my mom that there was a guy that had a stroke and the had another. He could only respond to a question by blinking, but after being in this facility the 100 days that they are required, he could function normally.

So GRANDMA could be her normal self by April. Just in time for Easter. If you don’t hear from me tomorrow,I wish all of you a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

MY *%#*@ INTERNET IS EITHER RUNNING SLOW OR IS A NO GO.

I thought I would just give you a heads up about what is going on around here. I am having issues with my internet. There are days where it is lagging so bad that you just want to scream, and then there are days when you have what my niece calls days of internet hiccups. This is days where you have internet one minute and then the next nothing. Then there is the days where you are trying to get on the internet with a computer with WiFi, which is me, and you cannot even get on. No WiFi connection at all.

On those days I just want to beat my head on the table repeatedly. We have reset the router 3-4 times a day, with no luck. We have talked to the internet company and they said to call them when it acts up so they can see what it is actually doing on their end. They said it could be the router or they might have to replace our internet cable outside. Which it is probably the cable outside, for it is the original cable for internet. It has not been upgraded in umpteen years. So until we get it fixed, my post might be a little late in getting posted. So be patient with me, and I will be the lunatic.

NEWS FLASH- GRANDMA WAS MOVED TO HEALTH SOUTH

grandma I was writing to let everyone know the status of my Grandmother. She is doing very well. They did put a feeding tube in her stomach since she is still having a little trouble swallowing. They also moved her to Health South rehabilitation facility, so they can concentrate on her rehabilitation. They say she might be in there two months or more.  This is the first night that no one has stayed with her since she had the stroke. It has hard for everyone to leave her by herself. I think she was even a little scared to be by herself also.

It is kind of scary to face something like that, and be a little vulnerable and not be able to help yourself. Especially be able to call out to family to help you. You always know family are always there for you. It will be kind of hard not having her with us at the table on Thanksgiving, but she will be with us in spirit. Mom and Grandpa will be going to see her tomorrow on Thanksgiving, and my niece and I will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

Happy Thanksgiving, and appreciate life and those around you. For you never know when you might lose them. Tell them you love them, and if you are having troubles nothing is worth losing the love of family. They are the heart and soul that keeps us going on, so love them and thank the Lord that you have them.

NEWS FLASH- MY GRANDMOTHER IS STILL DOING WELL

I just want to give you an update on my Grandmother. She is still doing well, and is as spunky as ever. She is getting where she is talking better. Her heart Doctor showed up last night at about 12 last night. He asked if the other doctor(neurologist)  has been in to see her, they told him no. That he has only seen her the once. There was supposed to been a Doctor that was a specialist on bleeding in the brain that was supposed to see her. He has not shown up. I don’t know id the neurologist didn’t call for him, or what.

The family‘s whole opinion on this neurologist is that he has basically has written my Grandmother off, and is just waiting for her  to die. Well we have news for him, my Grandmother has a lot of fight in her and she is here to stay. The family definitely having the neurologist removed from her case, and  we are going to get him for neglect of my Grandmother. He is not doing anything to help her to get better. The heart Doctor, my Grandmothers heart Doctor, is doing more for her and us than the other doctor. He has put our fears to rest. So once we get the other neurologist looking out for my Grandmother, things should get better. They are going to start her physical therapy back up. They stopped it when they put her in ICU.

I will go for now, but I will write more updates when we receive more. Thank you all for your prayers. They are definitely helping, for we still have her with us. So, now we just have to work on completely getting her well and home.

Thank You

CHARLIE-THEY WON’T SHARE THEIR FRIED POTATOES

Now they know that I love fried potatoes, and one of them made them for supper . I could smell them cooking and boy did they smell sooooo… good. When they were ready she was sitting there eating them in front of me, it was pure torture. She finally gave me a few bites, but it was not enough. Before long they were gone. So I decided to play with Sissy. I chased her around the house, and played with our toys.

It is getting cold outside, so I had them put my sweater on. Dang, Sissy found her pumpkin. I am going to have to hide it again. She gets so neurotic when she has it, that she is hard to be around. I will have to find a better hiding place. She is hurting my ears with her high-pitched yipping. Well I am getting sleepy so I am going to bed. So until next time, Charlie out.
