REVIEW- WOULD BE WITCH BY KIMBERLY FROST

WOULD BE WITCH
In the small town of Duvall, Texas, the only thing that causes more trouble than gossip is magic.

The family magic seems to have skipped over Tammy Jo Trask. All she gets in the way of the supernatural are a few untimely visits from the long-dead, smart-mouthed family ghost Edie. But when her locket—an heirloom that happens to hold Edie’s soul—is stolen in the midst of a town-wide crime spree, it’s time for Tammy to find her inner witch.

After a few bad experiences with her magic, Tammy turns to the only one who can help: the very rich and highly magical Bryn Lyons. He might have all the answers, but the locket isn’t the only thing passed down in Tammy’s family. She also inherited a warning…to stay away from anyone named Lyons…

WOULD-BE WITCH is a fun ,wild read. The characters and story line is very well-developed. Tammy Jo is a sassy red-head who, loves to bake. Tammy Jo is still friends with her ex-husband, but that relationship will be strained when she looks to Bryn Lyons to help her get her locket back. Whenever she does a spell it kind of doesn’t work like she wants it to. One reason for this is she is half Fae and half witch. The two cancels each other out. She cannot feel her magic or any other magic, but Bryn’s. Bryn is able to siphon magic off of her, but if he takes too much her Fae side comes to the front.  She is able to heal a lot quicker also. I love this book. Tammy Jo kind of reminds me of Rachel Morgan of the Hollows series. The harder she tries to fix something the more sideways a situations gets.  She also is given an Ocelot named Mercutio by Bryn and he is Tammy Jo’s best friend. I like the way she talks to Mercutio like he knows what she is talking about. This is a great start to the series. I give WOULD-BE WITCH 5/5 STARS. I recommend this book and series for everyone. For a romping hilarious good time.

NIGHT’S END is the last book in the series, and it does not disappoint.  The story line and characters are well-developed, and will pull you into the story and won’t let you go until it is done. Cicely and Rhiannon have just been crowned the Fae Queens of Snow and Ice(Cicely), and River and Rushes(Rhiannon. They have to stop Myst before she starts taking over other cities. To do so Cicely and the others have to destroy her heartstone to kill her. They will lose friends and gain new ones in the fight for freedom. Another great series ends and now I have to find a new one. I loved the whole story line and characters. I give NIGHT’S END 5/5 STARS.

BOOK REVIEW FOR “ICED” BY KAREN MARIE MONING

Product DetailsThis is a spinoff of the FEVER series, featuring DANI O’MALLEY. She has rare talents and possess the al powerful SWORD OF LIGHT. This is set 1 year after the Wall Crash. Now the Fae are free to hunt Us. Dani helps to keep the Fae at bay, and to give us a fighting chance. She also stay away from her ex-best friend MacKayla Lane, who wants her dead, and Inspector Jayne, the head of the police force.

They are after the sword and they will stop at nothing to get it. Ryodan asks for Dani’s help when his night club and parts of Dublin is blanketed by hoarfrost.  She has to figure out who or what is doing this to her beloved Dublin before everyone she loves and everything is ICED.

This was a really good book, and I can not wait for her next one.  Some people might have an issue with one of the characters having an attraction to Dani an he is much older than Dani.  At this point that is all it is, and I believe as a the story progresses the age difference really wont matter. We have had books with Fae and Human relationships with larger age gaps and we didn’t care. So as Dani ages and the other character doesn’t, the gap will close. That is my belief,  what the author is going for.

I give this a 5/ 5 stars. For a great story.

the next book will be:Product DetailsJULY 22, 2014.
