PARANORMAL ROMANCE BOOK REVIEW- VENGEANCE OF THE DEMON BY DIANA ROWLAND

Book Description
Publication Date: April 7, 2015
Vengeance of the Demon is the seventh installment of the acclaimed Demon series.
Demon summoner Kara Gillian is on the wrong side of the law, and there’s evidence to prove it. Too bad the courts don’t accept “fighting demonic forces” as justification for murder and mayhem.

Yet Kara has problems that go way beyond her legal woes. When the enemy demonic lords spur their human accomplices into high gear, master summoner Katashi aggressively pursues their goal to establish a permanent gate between Earth and the demon realm. To hell with the consequences for humanity.

When I started this book, I thought I knew what was going to happen. Boy, was I wrong! VENGEANCE OF THE DEMON  will take you on a wild ride. The characters and the story line are very well-developed. You will see a lot of Demons come to Beaulac to try to prevent Kara and the others from symmetrization of the valves to balance the flow.We will see Demon Lords helping out , that we would never help Kara. We will have a betrayal of one we trust and revel Xharebek, who is someone we would have never guessed who would be the missing Xharebek. Also, we will see a lot of action and the betrayal of someone who Kara loves, and would have thought would never betray her. A lot of things will be revealed and taken away in this book, and will come away with more questions than answers. I am still reeling from all that I read trying to process it all. This might be one of the best book out of the series!! I recommend this book and series to everyone. I give VENGEANCE OF THE DEMON 5/5 STARS.

BOOK REVIEW – THE RENFIELD SYNDROME BY J. A. SAARE

Book Description

February 3, 2015

The future can be altered, but the side effects can be hell.

Rhiannon’s Law, Book 2

Rhiannon believed a deranged child vampire was the most dangerous adversary she’d ever face, until she discovers something far worse. Sent forward in time, she hopes to deliver a message to her vampire lover, Disco, that will break the bargain she was forced to make with the demon Zagan. Until she finds reality altered almost beyond recognition.

Humans are nearly extinct, killed by a vaccine that was supposed to protect them from the effects of a bloodsucker’s bite. The few who have survived are now dominated by vampires. Worse, she finds that in this reality, there is no one she can trust.

Nearly crushed by loss and betrayal, she shifts focus from severing the old debt against Zagan, to exacting revenge—with consequences she never fathomed. Only by reaching deep into the darkness within her can she hope to find the strength to fight for her life against creatures that want her dead and buried.

Warning: Contains werewolves with wandering hands, vampires with a new thirst for blood, demons with serious issues, and a foul-mouthed heroine who refuses to become a damsel in distress.

THE RENFIELD SYNDROME is a new take on the supernatural world.  The world building, character development, and story line is w  very well-developed. I loved the character of Rhiannon. She is a very strong-minded person and knows what she wants. She does not shy away from conflict, but embraces it.  When she tries to help her boyfriend get rid of his debt to a demon, the demon exacts revenge on Rhiannon. Now she must go back in time to prevent the Renfield Syndrome from happening. I loved this book and cannot wait until the next book. I am also going back to read the first book in the series. I give THE RENFIELD SYNDROME 5/ 5 stars.

BOOK REVIEW- “FORGED IN FIRE” BY JULIETTE CROSS

forged in fire
Book Description
Publication Date: January 27, 2015
She never knew this demon world existed. Now she just wants to survive it.

The Vessel Trilogy, Book 1

Genevieve Drake never needed a man to come to her rescue. Not until the night of her twentieth birthday, when some dude nearly chokes her to death in an alley behind a New Orleans Goth club. And a hot stranger splits the guy in half, rips a monster from inside, and incinerates it into ash.

The hunky rescuer? Jude Delacroix—Dominus Daemonum, Master of Demons, now her guardian, whether she likes it or not. But she’s seriously beginning to like it.

Her would-be murderer turns out to be only the first of many minions of the demon prince, Danté, who has all kinds of lascivious and sadistic plans. Which means when the formidably beautiful Jude offers his protection, Genevieve has no problem accepting it.

For Jude and his fellow demon hunters tell her she is a Vessel, one who is born to serve the Light, but can be corrupted into a weapon of darkness. And to survive, she must trust a man whose unearthly eyes promise heaven…but whose powers unleash hell.

Warning: Contains a dark and brooding demon hunter who harbors even darker secrets, a snarky heroine who’s being hunted by every demon in the underworld, and a sadistic demon prince with a fancy for violent sexual encounters.

Gen is the Vessel, but she does not come into her powers until her twentieth birthday. Then she finds out that there really is demons and Angels. One demon called Danté wants to posses her and another high demon wants to kill her. When Jude interrupts a lower demon from killing her things start to heat up between them. Now Jude and Kat need to help Gen to control her powers so she can protect herself better.  FORGED IN FIRE has well-developed characters and storyline. I give FORGED IN FIRE 4/ 5 STARS. This is a great start for this series.

BOOK REVIEW- “WITCH WITH NO NAME” BY KIM HARRISON

witch with no name

Book Description
Publication Date: September 9, 2014
It’s Rachel Morgan’s ultimate adventure . . . and anything can happen in this final book in the New York Times bestselling Hollows series.

Rachel Morgan has come a long way from her early days as an inexperienced bounty hunter. She’s faced vampires and werewolves, banshees, witches, and soul-eating demons. She’s crossed worlds, channeled gods, and accepted her place as a day-walking demon. She’s lost friends and lovers and family, and an old enemy has unexpectedly become something much more.

But power demands responsibility, and world-changers must always pay a price. Rachel has known that this day would come—and now it is here.

To save Ivy’s soul and the rest of the living vampires, to keep the demonic ever after and our own world from destruction, Rachel Morgan will risk everything. . . .

Kim Harrison does it again with this final installment of the HOLLOWS SERIES. It has taken me a while to figure out what to say. It is always hard to say goodbye to your favorite characters. Rachel, Trent, Jenks, and Ivy are some of the most well-written characters that I have seen. I will miss Jenk’s little sayings, they always bring a smile to my face. Rachel has had so much character growth, with her powers, and relationships. Kim Harrison ties up everything very nicely. Rachel  has to find out how to give vampires back their soul, once they get their soul, what will keep them from committing suncide. Things just don’t go the way Rachel wants it to go. So things go to hell in a handbasket. This has been a hard review to do. I just don’t want the ride to end, so I just kept putting it off, but I took the bull by  the horns and wrote the review. For anyone who has not read this series, I urge to start it. This series will make you laugh, and cry. So now I give THE WITCH WITH NO NAME 5/5 stars. Great series, and great characters.

PARANORMAL ROMANCE- “RED BLOODED” BY AMANDA CARLSON

red blooded by amanda carlson

Jessica is going to Hell.

After settling a fragile truce between the vampires, werewolves and witches, the last thing Jessica wants to do is face the demons head on. But when the Prince of Hell kidnapped her brother, he set into motion a chain of events that even Jessica doesn’t have the power to stop.

Now, Jessica must go into battle again. But Hell is a whole new beast — new rules, more dangerous demons, and an entirely foreign realm. And when Jessica is dropped into the Underworld too soon, without protection or the help of her friends, she must figure out just how powerful she can be… or she will never make it out alive.

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley for an honest review.

Jessica is going to Hell, but she is going before she is ready. Jessica has been told to come to Hell to stand trial for crimes against it, but she was told to come by a certain date. While training to defend against demon magic, she absorbs it and activates the circle and pulled to Hell.

The Witches try to control where she lands when she gets there. Everything is strange in Hell. She must get away from the garbage of Hell before she is caught, and find her brother. She is literally running around with no idea of where she is going. She breaks out a woman who is being help prisoner. What she does not know is that she is the one who started all the crap with Hell.  If it was not for her she would not be in this situation. To me RED BLOODED was not as action packed as the others, and had a lot of running around. Don’t get me wrong it was still a very good book with well-developed characters and storyline. I give RED BLOODED 4/ 5 stars.
