Excerpt

She was knowing and affectionate and so pretty he couldn’t resist her. He put a hand on her knee and leaned in to kiss her. Her mouth was soft and willing, and he put down the coffee cup and took her face in both hands.

After a long, intense interval of suspended time, she pulled away and rested her forehead against his. “Oh, Reid,” she said—half disapproval, half sighing acquiescence. He stroked her breast, and her breathing quickened, and he slid a hand over her nylon-clad knee and under her skirt to find bare thigh. “Don’t,” she said.

He paused but didn’t withdraw his hand. “Is that no?” he asked.

She sighed. “Not yet,” she said, but she was warning him too, not to go too far, beyond the point of no return. Only it was hard to know where that was.

SHADOW SILENCE BY YASMINE GALENORN

New York Times bestselling author Yasmine Galenorn invites readers to Whisper Hollow, where spirits walk among the living and the lake never gives up her dead…

Fifteen years ago, I ran away from Whisper Hollow, Washington, a small town on Lake Crescent in the Olympic Peninsula. But truth is, if you were born here, you can never really leave. I’m Kerris Fellwater, and I’m a spirit shaman. It’s my responsibility to drive the dead back to their graves, because around Whisper Hollow, people—and secrets—don’t always stay buried.

My best friend Peggin finds herself under a curse after she is almost taken by the Lady of the Lake, and the Unliving are determined to drag her back to the hungry waters. As Bryan—my guardian and mate—and I work to break the hex, we uncover a dark and violent mystery from the past. One the Hounds of Cú Chulainn will do anything to guard—even if they must summon a legion of the dead to destroy Whisper Hollow.

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley for an honest review.

Shadow Silence (Whisper Hollow) is a Masterpiece!!  This is the second book in the Whisper Hollow series and it does not disappoint. Kerris is not happy that her friend Peggin is moving to a house close to the lake. She has had  a dream that the Lady of the Lake has claimed her friend when she drowns her in the lake. When Kerris and the rest of the gang help Peggin move, they find Peggin being taken by the Lady. Kerris jumps in and saves her friend. Now, they have a really bug problem on thier hands, because she did save Peggin. The Lady has marked her as her own and will not stop in trying to claim her. Kerris and the rest of the gang now have to find a way to remove the mark and keep Peggin out of the clutches of the Lady. This book offers so much to the series with a mystery that has to be solved about the house Peggin has moved into. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last. I love the book and the characters. On that note, I give SHADOW SILENE 5/5 STARS.
