Irish Winters is an award-winning author who dabbles in poetry,
grandchildren, and rarely (as in extremely rarely) the kitchen. More prone to
be outdoors than in, she grew up the quintessential tomboy on a farm in rural Wisconsin,
spent her teenage years in the Pacific Northwest, but calls the Wasatch Mountains
of Northern Utah home. For now.
The wife of one handsome husband and mother of three perfect sons,
Irish divides her time between writing at home, and travelling the country with
her man while – writing. (Seriously, what else?)
She believes in making every day count for something, and follows the
wise admonition of her mother to, “Look out the window and see something!”
Maverick Carson returned home from war with too much pain and not enough honor. Searching for a way to forgive and forget, he quits The TEAM and starts to walk. He’s walked all the way to Wyoming when the sight of a pretty girl riding a massive draft horse steals his breath—until the hillside gives way beneath the horse. Rushing to her aid, he runs straight into the world of China Wolf, the headstrong owner of the Wild Wolf Ranch and the owner of the finest Percherons in the country.
She doesn’t need a man in her life.
Never has. Never will. China Wolf has responsibility enough between the rowdy horses she loves, the wayward sister she tolerates, and the precocious niece she adores. Besides, Maverick’s made it clear he’d rather hit the road than hang around her ranch. Why should she care? She doesn’t—not until she glimpses the cowboy in his eyes. Maybe she needs a man after all.

Delta covered the space between them so quickly Bandit scurried for safer territory. She glared up into eyes that reminded her of a cold winter’s day. “I can’t believe this. You have a lot of gall, Mr. Thorne. The way I see it, you gave up your right to meddle in my affairs when you told me in no uncertain terms that you weren’t looking for a wife. Therefore, what I do is none of your concern. If I want to—”
“Do what?” Cooper brushed her cheek with a fingertip. “Women like you won’t throw your reputation to the wind. You want it all or nothing.”
She glared. “You’re awfully sure of yourself.”
“I know more than you think.” His words were soft. “I see the yearning for permanence in your eyes. Dear God, you’re a difficult woman to forget.”
Cooper tugged her against his lean body, lowered his head, and pressed his sensual lips firmly on hers. The long kiss held passion and promise and warmth. Delta’s breath got caught somewhere between the need for more and wishing she’d stayed in town, far away from men who indulged in contradictory behavior.
Her knees grew weak and she clutched the shirt covering his broad chest to keep from falling as the world tilted on its axis.
As the kiss deepened, their breaths mingled in a heated flurry while blood pounded in her ears. She heard a low moan and realized it came from her. Strange how it sounded so very far away.
Her stomach whirled and dipped as though she’d fallen from a great height. Tingles raced up her spine in some kind of mindless confusion. The anger that had propelled her into dangerous territory melted away and left a strange desire in its wake. Before she could unclench her hands from his shirt to take a step back, he released her.
The kiss ended suddenly, leaving her wanting more.
Cooper’s sinful half smile turned her knees to jelly. “And that, Miss Delta, is how we do things here in Texas.”

TEXAS MAIL ORDER BRIDE is a sweet Texas romance. I always love to read about cowboys in the old west. That time period for me is so romantic, even-though it was a very harsh time period. Who wouldn’t love a cowboy? I keep asking Santa for one and I never get one. Maybe because I am on the naughty list every year. The characters and story line are very well-developed. Delta Dandrige is on her way to Battle Creek, Texas to marry a man she has not met yet. She answered an ad for a mail order bride, but when she gets there Cooper Thorne informs her that he never sent of for a bride or placed an ad. So, Delta gets a job at the local mercantile. After that meeting Cooper cannot seem to get Miss Dandrige off his mind. When she is kidnapped by someone from Cooper’s past, he finds out that he really loves Delta and cannot live without her. This is such a heartwarming tale, and the cowboys even hotter. I give TEXAS MAIL ORDER BRIDE 5/5 stars.

DAISIES IN THE CANYON is a very sweet, quick read. The characters and story line are very well-developed. Abby didn’t know her father and when he dies she has to go to the funeral. When she gets there she finds out that she has two half-sisters and they have to stay on the ranch together for a year to get their inheritance, the ranch. If they fail to live on the ranch for a year they will get a settlement and they sign over their portion of the ranch. When Abby meets Cooper Wilson there is an instant attraction and things quickly start to heat up between them. I loved the exchange between the sisters as they start to become a real family. They start to care for one another and need to know where they are going when they leave the ranch so they will not worry. Carolyn Brown is the Queen of western romance. I love everything that she has written and I cannot wait for more. I urge you to pick up this book and anything else by this author. She will make you laugh and cry with her characters. I give DAISIES IN THE CANYON 5/5 STARS.

I have always loved Leigh Greenwood’s books, and I really enjoyed this one. TO LOVE AND TO CHERISH is a heartwarming, and well-written story with very likeable characters. Laurie’s husband has just died, she plans on taking charge of her life. She plans to never marry again. When the will is read and she finds out that her husband’s brother is in charge of her husband’s fortune her plans are stopped. After getting out of one shackle she is put into another. Her husband’s brother has planned everything for her. Her husband was verbally abusive, and didn’t like the way she looked. He had her wear oversized clothing, to hide her abundant physical attributes. When she overhears Jared talking to her brother-in-law at the bank about borrowing money to buy Herefords that are coming his way she can help him. When her brother-in-law turns him down, she drives out to his ranch to strike a deal with Jared to give him the money. In exchange for her money she wants a half interest to his ranch. He agrees with the stipulation that she cooks and cleans for him to gain a half interest to the ranch. With her now at the ranch things start to heat up between them and she has to rethink her plans of marriage as her feelings for Jared strengthen. This is such a great book and I give TO LOVE AND TO CHERISH 5/5 stars.
