BOOK REVIEW- FALLING FOR HIS BEST FRIEND BY KATEE ROBERT

falling for his best friend
A sexy category romance from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…

He’s going above and beyond the call of duty…

Avery Yeung’s biological clock just went off early. Thanks to her family’s medical history, she’s running out of time to get knocked up. And the only guy within donating distance? Her overprotective-and irritatingly hot-best friend. So clearly she needs an anonymous donor…

Anonymous donor? Over Sheriff Drew Flannery’s dead body. While daddyhood will never be in the cards for a man with his past, Drew won’t let Avery shop for a “popsicle pop.” He’ll do what’s right for his best friend by doing his best friend. But only if they do it properly.

But there’s nothing “proper” about it. Between the bed, the kitchen counter, and against his squad car, Avery and Drew are having the hottest sex ever. They can’t get enough of it-or each other. And without knowing it, they’ve crossed the one line that could ruin their friendship forever…

PARANORMAL ROMANCE BOOK REVIEW- THE RIPPLE EFFECT BY J.A. SAARE

the ripple effect
Sealing a deal with Heaven is as dangerous as starting a war with Hell.

Rhiannan’s Law, Book 3

Rhiannon Murphy’s homecoming party from a hellish future is more like a violation of her mind, the mining of her memories by her vampire lover, Disco. Now he knows everything that transpired—and her personal life is in shambles.

Yet she has no choice but to push on to sever her debt to Marigold Vesta, the fallen angel who helped her return to her own time. Unfortunately this debt has a short due date, and failing to resurrect Marigold’s soul means Rhiannon must sacrifice her own body—or find a suitable substitute.

Then death comes knocking at Rhiannon’s door. Disco’s maker is in New York with a bone to pick—preferably hers—but he’s not the only one out for her blood. Revenald, Marius’s half-demon creator, is out to bring her to her knees.

Cornered, Rhiannon must turn once again to the fallen angel whose soul she’s trying to save. The penalties may be more than she can bear, but with nothing left to lose, it’s no longer about life or death.

It’s about getting even.

Warning: Content may not be suitable for those sensitive to dubious consent, rape, murder and/or violence. Fasten your seatbelts, secure your tray tables, and pop a couple of Dramamine. This ride is about to get bumpy.

THE RIPPLE EFFECT will take you on a roller coaster ride. Rhiannon is trying to find the resting place of  Marigold Vesta so she can give her necklace back. In the meantime, Marius, DISCO’S SIRE is coming to town. He wants SUCKER the knife that Rhiannon used to kill a half demon. She does not want to give it up, but the choice will soon be out of her hands. When she does not give SUCKER to Marius, his sire Revenald comes to town and this spells trouble for Rhiannon. Someone she loves will be killed and Disco will put everything on the line for her. I loved this book and could not get enough of it. The characters and story were well crafted. URBAN FANTASY BOOK REVIEW- SPIDER’S TRAP BY JENNIFER ESTEP

spider's trap by jennifer estep

Book Description
Publication Date: July 28, 2015
The next thrilling book in Jennifer Estep’s New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling Elemental Assassin series—“an extraordinary series.…One of the most intriguing heroines in the genre” (Romantic Times Book Reviews).

Keep your friends close but your enemies within stabbing distance.

One important lesson I’ve learned in the assassination business is that to be the best you have to roll with the punches. Now that I’m queen of Ashland’s underworld—by default, not by choice—a lot more punches are being thrown my way. But I suppose that’s the price of victory for taking down some of the underworld’s top dogs. Good thing I have my Ice and Stone magic to help me survive my volatile new position. Just when I think things are finally settling down, someone tries to murder me during a hush-hush underworld meeting. But the real surprise is how strangely familiar my shadowy assailant seems to be.

My job is to maintain order among killers, crooks, and thieves, and soon I’m embroiled in a bloody game where the ability to keep secrets could be the greatest superpower of all. My enemies have all sharpened their knives and laid their traps, waiting for me to fall. But this Spider weaves her own webs of death…

AWESOME!! AWESOME!! AWESOME!! THE SPIDER’S TRAP starts off after The Spider(Gin Blanco) defeats Mab Monroe’s daughter and becomes the New Queen of the Ashland Underworld. Gin is mediating a dispute on The Delta Queen between two of the city’s crime lords, who both want the coin laundries that Lorelei owns. In true Gin style she does not like listening to these two squabble about who should own them. All she wants to do is stab them. During this shouting match, she notices something different about the guy serving the champagne. She makes him nervous and he runs. She chases him down as he jumps overboard, just as she was to follow, she is shot at by a sniper. She goes back to the bucket to check and there is a bomb inside. She yells for everyone to get of the boat, and as time gets down to the wire, she jumps overboard. I loved this book!!! There is action from the very first chapter. The characters and story line are very well-developed. I love the character of Gin Blanco and all of her friends and family. They just help the story to flow and move along. I give THE SPIDER’S TRAP 5/5 STARS. I cannot wait until the next book in this series.

PURE BLOODED is another hit for Amanda Carlson. It is Action packed, nail-biting fun. The characters and story line are well-developed.  Jessica has just returned from Hell and the Hags of Fate are wanting her dead for killing Ardat Lili who was to birth a child that would be one of the Hags of Fate. She must stay alive to redirect her fated path to get her fate back on track. A balance. Staying alive will not be easy, when someone wants you dead. She does have an ally in one of the Hags that wants her to stay alive. This is such a great book and series that it will have you wanting more. I cannot wait until the next book. This book will have you on the edge of your seat. When you think they are in the clear, Fate throws another wrench into the plan. I recommend this book and series to everyone. BOOK REVIEW- CROSSING THE LINE BY ALLY BISHOP

CROSSING THE LINEBOOK DESCRIPTION

  • Print Length: 173 pages

I’ve never believed in love at first sight, which is probably why I write mysteries, and not romances, for a living. Besides, I’m too focused on expanding Elementary, a mystery dinner party business I own with my brother Noah. I don’t have time for romance.

When the handsome and successful Ian Crane books our services, I can barely keep my wits about me. He’s setting fire to all my rules, and I can’t resist his flames.

I don’t recognize the woman I’m becoming, but I don’t want to go back to who I was. There’s a part of me that can’t help wondering, what if he’s too good to be true? Because if he is, my heart will be nothing more than ashes.

Heat rating: Toasty warm, with plenty of flames.
