Esa Saari plays hockey for the New York Blades, and has a bad boy reputation on and off the ice. When his sister is killed in a plane crash his world is turned upside down. He is now the guardian of his eight-year-old niece, Nell, his bad boy lifestyle is about to be body checked.
He knows he has to hire a live-in nanny to help take care of Nell when he is away for games, so he hires Michelle Beck. Michelle bonds with Nell, because she also lost her mother at a young age and knows what Nell is going through.
As Michelle and Esa are thrown together more, because of their love of Nell their feelings for each other deepen. All that Nell sees is Esa’s playboy lifestyle and wonders if he can ever change. All that Esa cares about is showing Nell that he wants to make her a permanent part of his family with Nell.
I liked this book, with some of the moments between Esa and Nell were very touching. I give this book a 4/ 5 stars.
