REVIEW – ANYTHING FOR YOU BY KRISTAN HIGGINS

ANYTHING FOR YOU
Before you get down on bended knee…

…you should be pretty darn sure the answer will be yes. For ten years, Connor O’Rourke has been waiting for Jessica Dunn to take their on-again, off-again relationship public, and he thinks the time has come. His restaurant is thriving, she’s got her dream job at Blue Heron Vineyard—it’s the perfect time to get married.

When he pops the question, however, her answer is a fond but firm no. If it ain’t broke, why fix it? Jess has her hands full with her younger brother, who’s now living with her full-time, and a great career after years of waitressing. What she and Connor have is perfect: friends with an excellent benefits package. Besides, with her difficult past (and reputation), she’s positive married life isn’t for her.

But this time, Connor says it’s all or nothing. If she doesn’t want to marry him, he’ll find someone who does. Easier said than done, given that he’s never loved anyone but her. And maybe Jessica isn’t quite as sure as she thinks…

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley for an honest review.

ANYTHING FOR YOU is a sweet, emotional story. The characters and storyline very well-developed. Conner has carried a torch for Jessica since they were kids, but they were from two different worlds. Connor came from money, and Jessica was thought of as white trash. Their worlds would never condone the two of them  getting together. For one, Jessica would be thought of as a gold digger, and Connor’s world would think he was only scratching an itch. Their two worlds would come together when he saves his sister from an attack from Jessica’s brothers dog. Now, Conner’s father wants the dog put down for biting Connor, and Jessica’s brother would always think of  Conner as the guy who killed his dog. Jessica has always taken care of her brother, who had fetal alcohol syndrome, and needs constant supervision so he won’t end up hurting himself. Connor has to convince Jessica he wants more from their on again, off again relationship. When he proposes and is turned down, he has to convince her that they belong together. The love and care that Jessica gives her brother is like no other. I really liked this book and recommend it to everyone. I give ANYTHING FOR YOU 4/5 stars.
