From the author of Lone Wolf comes a paranormal romance about two lovers torn between ecstasy and savagery… Jace Warden is sent to theShiftertown in Austin to find a way to free allShifters from their Collars. But pulling off the Collars can causeShifters to go mad or kill them outright. In Austin, Jace meets Deni Rowe, a wolf Shifter with troubles of her own–she was deliberately run down in the road, and while her body has healed, she still has episodes of total memory loss during which she retreats into her pure animal self.

Jace has never met anyone like Deni. Courageous and beautiful, she volunteers to help him test the Collar removal. And as Deni and Jace work together, they feel the mate bond begin. But can Jace help Deni believe she can heal enough to be anyone’s true mate?

This fourteen-chapter novella includes a preview of the upcoming Shifters Unbound novel Wild Wolf.

This was a quick, short read. The characters and story line was well-developed, with great action from the first. Jace is from the Las Vegas shifters, and he has come to help with getting setting free shifters from their collars. When he arrives into town, he heads to where they have secret fights with shifters. This lets them get out their aggressions without having to challenge anyone in a dominance fight. When he arrives he is attacked by another shifter, and Deni jumps in to help him. They immediately form a connection. Somebody in the shifter community leaks out the location of the fights to the human police and they have to stop the fights or get arrested.  They come up with a plan to tell the police that they are holding a shifter religious ceremony. It works and Jace takes Deni home .

They both feel a connection to each other and they admit that they are mates. Deni gets over her fear of riding her motorcycle when Jace’s life is in jeopardy. All she knows is that she has to find him. This novella was a great read, and I wish it could have been longer.  It was a nice installment to the Shifter’s Unbound series, and I give it 5/5 stars. I love Jennifer Ashley’s books and cannot wait until the next.  I recommend this series to everyone who loves a great paranormal romance.
