For Sam Ryan, life began at age fourteen. She has no memory of her parents or her childhood. In a decade of service with the State Police, Sam has exhausted the resources of the force searching for clues to her identity. But all mention of her family seems to have been deliberately wiped off the record. Everything changes the night Sam’s missing partner resurfaces as a vampire . . . and forces her to kill him in self-defense. Now Sam is charged with murder. Suspended from the force, and with no one left to trust, Sam accepts some unexpected help from Gabriel Stern, a shapeshifter who conceals startling secrets.
While investigating the circumstances surrounding her partner’s strange behavior, Sam discovers that Garbriel’s been involved with a dangerous organization that’s planning a war on the human race. More immediate, someone is guarding the truth about Sam’s past—someone who’d rather see her dead than risk her knowing too much. To stay alive, Sam must unravel the threads of her past—and find out not only who she is but what she is.

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley for an honest review.
Keri Arthur knows how to weave characters and worlds together to bring to life an Urban Fantasy that will grip you from the very first page. The characters and story line are well-developed. MEMORY ZERO starts off with action from the very first page, and only gets better as you go to the end of the book. Finding out what happened to her partner gets her into deep trouble. When she gets a message to meet her partner Jack, things go from bad to worse. Somehow has been turned into a Vampire, and when she would not join him she ha to kill him. Now she is being brought up on charges of killing her partner and they want her to undergo a psych evaluation. Now she is on suspension and trying to find out what happened to Jack just got harder.
When Gabriel of the SIU tells her that the man she killed was not her partner, but a replica makes it hard to believe. Now she has people trying to kill her so she will not find out the truth of what is going on. She also has to find out what is going on with herself, for she is not totally human herself as she believed. This was a great read, keeping me on the edge of my seat. I give it 5/5 stars.
