Gowan Stoughton, Duke of Kinross wastes not a moment negotiating for Lady Edith Gilcrest’s hand in marriage. He is looking for a serene, even tempered lass, although he thinks he is getting an even tempered wife, she shows him that her temper matches her hair.
Lady Edith is not herself at her own debut ball, she is running a high fever that her passionate temper is all but serene and she notices no one not even the Duke of Kinross. When the marriage negotiations are finished Duke Kinross heads off to Brighton to finish some before the marriage. When he receives a letter detailing everything she expects from this marriage. they send letters back and forth, and Duke Kinross discovers that she has a sharp sense of humor. They do not want to repeat their parents mistakes.
When he starts to ignore he, she has to teach him a lesson and that he is the only one for her. This story has a lot of witty banter and hilarious moments. I always love reading her books. I give this book a 5/5 stars. If you haven’t read any of her other books try these:
