REVIEW- WOULD BE WITCH BY KIMBERLY FROST

WOULD BE WITCH
In the small town of Duvall, Texas, the only thing that causes more trouble than gossip is magic.

The family magic seems to have skipped over Tammy Jo Trask. All she gets in the way of the supernatural are a few untimely visits from the long-dead, smart-mouthed family ghost Edie. But when her locket—an heirloom that happens to hold Edie’s soul—is stolen in the midst of a town-wide crime spree, it’s time for Tammy to find her inner witch.

After a few bad experiences with her magic, Tammy turns to the only one who can help: the very rich and highly magical Bryn Lyons. He might have all the answers, but the locket isn’t the only thing passed down in Tammy’s family. She also inherited a warning…to stay away from anyone named Lyons…

WOULD-BE WITCH is a fun ,wild read. The characters and story line is very well-developed. Tammy Jo is a sassy red-head who, loves to bake. Tammy Jo is still friends with her ex-husband, but that relationship will be strained when she looks to Bryn Lyons to help her get her locket back. Whenever she does a spell it kind of doesn’t work like she wants it to. One reason for this is she is half Fae and half witch. The two cancels each other out. She cannot feel her magic or any other magic, but Bryn’s. Bryn is able to siphon magic off of her, but if he takes too much her Fae side comes to the front.  She is able to heal a lot quicker also. I love this book. Tammy Jo kind of reminds me of Rachel Morgan of the Hollows series. The harder she tries to fix something the more sideways a situations gets.  She also is given an Ocelot named Mercutio by Bryn and he is Tammy Jo’s best friend. I like the way she talks to Mercutio like he knows what she is talking about. This is a great start to the series. I give WOULD-BE WITCH 5/5 STARS. I recommend this book and series for everyone. For a romping hilarious good time.

REVIEW- BREAKOUT BY ANN AGUIRRE

breakout
All hell is breaking loose in the edge-of-your-seat follow-up to Havoc and Perdition from New York Times bestselling author Ann Aguirre…

The prison ship Perdition has become a post-battle charnel house with only a handful of Dred’s soldiers still standing and now being hunted by Silence’s trained tongueless assassins. Forging an uneasy alliance with mercenary commander Vost—who is their only chance at escape—the Dread Queen will do whatever it takes to end her life sentence on Perdition and keep the survivors alive long enough to cobble together a transport capable of getting them off station.

If Dred and her crew can win the deadly game of cat and mouse, the payoff is not only life but freedom—a prize sweeter than their wildest dreams. Yet the sadistic Silence would rather destroy Perdition than let a single soul slip from her grasp…

BREAKOUT is a roller coaster of a ride. The characters and story line is well-developed. Dred and the gang have to find a way off the prison ship Perdition, but they have to stay alive. Silence’s people are looking for Dred and her gang to kill them. Dred and the rest of the gang have to cobble together a  ship that will actually fly and not kill them if they run out of air. This book is gritty, action packed and I love it. Ann Aguirre is a master at storytelling. Dred is the perfect kick-ass heroine. I love this series and this book, and I recommend it to everyone. I give BREAKOUT 5/5 STARS.

REVIEW- TOUGH LOVE BY LORI FOSTER

tough love
She’s playing hard to get…to win the MMA fighter of her ultimate fantasies in a sultry new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster

Vanity Baker loves a good, clean match, but she’s not above playing a little dirty. She’s wanted Stack “The Wolf” Hannigan from day one. Seems as though the best way to corral the famously commitment-phobic fighter is to insist on keeping it casual. And her plan works—deliciously well—until Stack’s past steps out of the shadows.

Stack learned early to stay free of attachments. But with sexy, forthright Vanity, he’s the one always left wanting more. Then his troublemaking family comes back into the picture, threatening everything Stack cares about—Vanity included. Suddenly he realizes they’re much more than friends with benefits. He’s ready to go to the mat for her…but will it be in time to protect the woman who’s tamed him for good?

TOUGH LOVE is a edgy, sexy page turner. Lori Foster knows how to weave emotion in a story. The characters and story line are well-developed. Vanity and Stack decided to keep it casual after Cannon and Yvette‘s wedding. Vanity has wanted Stack since she met him, but if she came on too strong she would scare him away. So, she gets him to agree to one night together after the wedding. Stack finds out one night is not enough, so he has to get her to adjust their agreement to being exclusive to each other. I love these MMA fighters, so buff and sweaty. Makes me want to go find me one. This book pulled me into the story and did not let me go until I finished the book. I recommend this book and story to everyone. I give TOUGH LOVE 5/5 STARS.
