Thanks for those encouraging words about Magic Breaks. I heard that there were big changes and I was afraid that they would have something to do (bad) with Kate & Curran, and I was afraid to read it. I kept putting it to one side, because sometimes I do not take well to bad things happening to characters I love. And thinking about the title made me think something went wrong with the Magic/Tech thingie, OR something went wrong with Curran. My friend tried to convince me that even though there were big changes, I would probably be happy, so I figured I’d start it this weekend, but I confess, I’ve been nervous. I would be most unhappy if the beast lord lost his…beast lordliness. I mean, challenges, set backs, things that have to be righted or fought for, I can handle, but a rift between the two of them OR Curran suddenly not being a lion any more would make me most unhappy. I LOVED the ending to the last one SO much, when he came smashing and crashing rocks and things because he thought she was dead, and then the way it all worked out between them. I just want to love this one just as much.
I’m still trying to get over the last From The Edge book, wherein Richard got left stuck with someone else’s face, and the whole place was left teetering on the brink of war, and then the word comes out that the series is over. I must say, that was not what I wanted to hear, and I didn’t think it was really wrapped up well. I’m a big Ilona Andrews fan, but that disappointed me. I really loved that series, most especially William Wolf in Bayou Moon. That book makes me laugh every time I read it, and I’ve read it several times. I wanted more William for sure.
Sorry, rambling on, here. Heading off to bed now, grumbling about poor Richard wearing someone else’s face. 🙁 (Curran better still be CURRAN, that’s all I have to say.) 😀
You won’t be disappointed.:)
Yay! Thanks, and good night!!
Ooooh, you had me with the picture of the signed book! I can’t wait to get my hands on this one, even though I’m really going to be sad that series is over. I’ll miss that world a lot! That, and getting The Winter Long on Tuesday are really making my world happy! It’s going to be a banner fall! 🙂 Happy Labor Day to you, as well! (Shuddering on your behalf at the dentist visit mention. Eeep.)
Mine too, New release days are like giving myself a present every week. I am really sad also that the Rachel Morgan Hollows series is ending. I can,t wait to see what she has next for us.
I know what you mean. I’m going to have to allot a bunch more $$ for my book budget between now and December (when the final Odd Thomas book comes out.) SO many good things coming up. Four on the 2nd alone that I can’t wait to get, though The Winter Long will be the first. I’m in love with Seanan McGuire’s imagination, with Toby Daye and her whole world, and most of all, with Tybalt, King of Cats. He’s a HUGE favorite of mine. 🙂 And after just having the extreme pleasure of reading the latest Chicagoland Vampires book (and drooling, as always, over Ethan Sullivan), I’ll be starting Magic Breaks tomorrow, to see what the heck is going on with Kate Daniels and her Beast Lord, Curran. Good stuff on top of good stuff on top of good stuff. My library runneth over! 🙂
You will love Magic Breaks. I know I did, now I am patiently waiting for the next book. I constantly stay broke because of my book buying spree. At least I can trade in my paperbacks to Hastings and receive credit in the store.
