Charlie Writing Her Post.

image

I thought I would drop you a few lines about how things are going. Sorry I have been silent in my posting. I have been going out with my master to get supper a few nights a week. It has been a
blast to ride in the truck and to be seen around town. People are always friendly and waving at me.
When we get go Sonic she let’s me order my chili cheese tots. I always get a laugh out of the carhop. Cissy has been gone this weekend, do it has been quiet. I didn’t get to do much outside, because it rained all weekend. The only part of the rain that I did not like is walking in it and getting my feet wet.
Well I am going to call it a night. Until next time Charlie out.

Here is me at Sonic.

SOULS OF THE DAMNED BY E.S. MOORE – BOOK REVIEW

AVAILABLE JUNE 19, 2014

Book Description

June 19, 2014
Innocence is relative, and evil is damned hard to kill. . .Kat Redding would love to take a break from the gruesome, dangerous work of hunting down rogue vampires and werewolves, battling for innocent lives. But there’s no peace for Lady Death. Until Kat’s young charge, Sienna, appears on her doorstep, escaped from the shadow-paradise of Delai. Sienna is weak, confused, desperate–human in the utmost. If Kat is going to have any hope of breaking the hold of Delai, she’ll have to infiltrate the walls around the false sanctuary. And the only way she can do that is to trade in her battle-hardened, bloodthirsty vampire’s body–for Sienna’s human form. With no weapons but her wits, Kat has to trust a demon, defeat an angel, and wrestle with her own rebel soul–because with all the fear and death she’s conquered, no one has ever offered her another day under a warm yellow sun. . .Praise for E.S. Moore’s To Walk the Night“Fans of Underworld will not want to miss this fast-paced, action-packed debut!” –Jess Haines, author of Enslaved by the Others“Kat is a complex, compelling character who takes us on a wild ride. I was given a copy of this book by NETGALLEY for an honest REVIEW.

E.S MOORE does it again with his newest novel SOULS OF THE DAMNED. His world building and story telling is outstanding. His characters and story line is well-developed. SOULS OF THE DAMNED takes you on a wild ride you will never forget.  When Sienna shows up at her doorstep, Kate knows she has to do everything she can to destroy the town of  Delia and the Angel controlling the town. One problem, Kate cannot enter the town, she was banned by Levi. When she goes to the place the town should exist, nothing is there. How can she enter the town without Levi knowing she is there? The demon Beligral offers to transfer Sienna’s and her souls that way Kate would be in Sienna’s body and Sienna’s soul in her body. This would allow Kate to enter Delia and find the one who summoned the angel Di’leviathan (Levi). This was a fast-paced read that had me wanting more. I give SOULS OF THE DAMNED 5/5 STARS. I recommend this series to everyone, it is a great series to read.

MY WRITING FOCUS HAS GONE ON VACATION!

THE FOCUS FACTOR.

Here lately I seem to have lost my focus. I cannot focus on what I need to be doing, paying bills, writing my review, or just writing in general. I will sit at the computer and stare willing the words to appear on the screen, but nothing happens. I guess I have too many things going on around me to focus on any one task. I try to help with the house work while Mom Is taking care of my Grandmother now that she is home. Grandma still has a long way to go in her recovery, she still cannot walk yet or use her left arm, but she is getting feeling back. This says that the brain is trying to make new pathways and going around ny damage. The other day they say that she kicked her left leg, because something was bothering her and she kicked it off the bed. This was great news!

Also I cannot seem to focus, because now I am seeing a cardiologist to find out what was causing my chest pains back in January, and February. I have to go in next week to do a nuclear stress test on Wednesday, and a sonogram on Thursday. Maybe we can get this resolved and I can focus on something else. Also work has been crazy, and my knee pain has been worse since I stepped wrong and popped it.

I know things will fall into place and I will get back to writing posts more often, I just have to be patient and let it take its course. I guess I could also change my environment and go to the library, or Starbucks in Barnes & Nobles and write. Maybe that will jumpstart the writing juices. For now I will take it one step at a time and just write about random things, and write my reviews a few days after I read the book. So for now I will go to bed and let my brain rest. I will talk with you later.

HALF-OFF RAGNAROK BY SEANAN McGUIRE

BOOK REVIEW “HALF-OFF RAGNAROK” BY SEANAN MCGUIRE

What do gorgons, basilisks, and frogs with feathers all have in common? They’re all considered mythological by modern science, and some people are working very hard to keep them that way. Alexander Price is a member of a cryptozoological lineage that spans generations, and it’s his job to act as a buffer between the human and cryptid worlds—not an easy task when you’re dealing with women who has snakes in place of hair, little girls who may actually be cobras, and brilliant, beautiful Australian zookeepers. And then there’s the matter of the murders…

Alex thought he was choosing the easier career when he decided to specialize in non-urban cryptids, leaving the cities to his little sister, Verity. He had no idea what he was letting himself in for. It’s a family affair, and everyone—from his reanimated grandfather to his slightly broken telepathic cousin—is going to find themselves drawn in before things get any better.

Half-Off Ragnarok is the third installment of the highly praised InCryptid series.

BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON

HALF-OFF RAGNAROK has well-developed characters and a well-developed storyline. In this book we focus on Alex, Verity’s brother, his life is about to get a lot more interesting. He works in the local Zoo in the reptile department, where his assistant Dee keeps her identity a secret. She is a pliny’s gorgon, and they are able to blend in as human. Then there is Shelby from Australia who works with the big cats, and Alex has broken many dates with her so he can keep secret what he does, hunt Cryptids. After Shelby comes to his house to save him from a cryptid that has brainwashed him, is when he finds out that she is part of a group called the Thirty-Six Society. Now that they have cleared the air of who they really are, they help each other in trying to find out who is behind the killings at the zoo. They know that it is a cryptid called a Cockatrice who can turn some one to stone by looking them in the eyes. This book has a lot of funny moments in it that will make you chuckle. It starts off slow but picks up pretty quickly. I give HALF-OFF RAGNAROK 4/5 STARS. If you have not read this series, I recommend that you do. It will have you laughing with both Verity’s and Alex’s antics.

While Lili’s oh-so-sexy moans when she tastes his delicious creations turn him on, he’s even more aroused by how unimpressed this beautiful, funny woman is with his fame. He knows they could be amazing together, if she could only see past his bitch fork-wielding fan base. Now, as he’s about to start a new prime time TV cooking show, can Jack convince Lili to realize her own ambitions – and turn up the heat in his kitchen?

BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK BY NETGALLEY FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.

FEEL THE HEAT  was a hot, steamy read with great dialogue and family quirkiness. Jack is tired of the path his life is going until a woman dressed as wonder woman knocks him over the head with a pan. Lili is a curvaceous woman with insecurities about her weight and when Jack pursues her she cannot believe that he could want to date someone with a little more meat on their bones. Jack also has his own problems with his sister, and he finally finds out why his sister doesn’t go to any of the interviews that he has set up for her. FEEL THE HEAT will have you laughing and crying, the book is a really great read. I recommend this book to everyone and I give the book 5/5 stars.
