BEAST BEHAVING BADLY BY SHELLY LAURENSTON

beast behaving badlyBook Descriptionbuyamzon-button-plain

Some men just have more to offer. Like hard-muscled, shape-shifting Bo Novikov–part polar bear, part lion, pure alpha.  .  .Ten years after Blayne Thorpe first encountered Bo Novikov, she still can’t get the smooth-talking shifter out of her head. Now he’s shadowing her in New York–all seven-plus feet of him–determined to protect her from stalkers who want to use her in shifter dogfights. Even if he has to drag her off to an isolated Maine town where the only neighbors are other bears almost as crazy as he is.  .  .Let sleeping dogs lie. Bo knows it’s good advice, but he can’t leave Blayne be. Blame it on her sweet sexiness–or his hunch that there’s more to this little wolfdog than meets the eye. Blayne has depths he hasn’t yet begun to fathom–much as he’d like to. She may insist Bo’s nothing but a pain in her delectable behind, but polar bears have patience in spades. Soon she’ll realize how good they can be together. And when she does, animal instinct tells him it’ll be worth the wait.  .  .

I love these characters. Blayne Thorpe and Bo o Novikov are two opposites that you would think that would not get along, but they are perfect together. They help to balance each other out. Bo Novikov  likes his world perfectly planned out to the last-minute, where as Blayne basically starts out planning her day but ends up flying by the seat of her pants. Her plans are always pushed back and she is always late. This drives Bo crazy. He hates to be late for anything, especially practice. Blayne is  a plumber by day and at night she is in a shifter roller derby team. She is a very hyper   wolf-dog hybrid and she is very scatterbrained . She is very loving and always helping someone even though they don’t thin they need it. Bo is a part polar bear and part lion, and they met years ago and she ran. This book has many laugh out loud moments that you want to make sure you don’t eat or drink anything while reading  so you don’t choke while reading. I really like it when Blayne torments Dee Ann who has been hired to guard her, but Blayne is not supposed to know.  Dee Ann thinks that Blayne is this empty-headed airhead, but in truth Blayne is smart just she is hyper active and basically has ADHD. She gets distracted easily.  I recommend Beast Behaving Badly and I give it 5/ 5 stars

Joanne Walker has three days to learn to use her shamanic powers and save the world from the unleashed Wild Hunt.
No worries. No pressure. Never mind the lack of sleep, the perplexing new talent for healing herself from fatal wounds, or the cryptic, talking coyote who appears in her dreams.
And if all that’s not bad enough, in the three years Joanne’s been a cop, she’s never seen a dead body–but she’s just come across her second in three days.
It’s been a bitch of a week.
And it isn’t over yet.

I loved this book and series. It is a great start to an urban fantasy series. It blends native myths and Celtic mythology  in a way that draws you into the book and k

eeps you wanting more. The story starts out with Joanne coming home from Ireland from her mother’s funeral that she has not seen since she was a baby, when she sees a woman being attacked from the plane. She tries to let someone know what she saw but no one believes that she saw it from the plane. So she investigates it herself and meets the Wild Hunt. Here is where the action really takes off and it is a roller coaster ride from then on. She battles the master of the Wild Hunt Cerunnuos and almost dies. She has to use her Shaman abilities to heal herself and also try to master her new-found abilities before she gets killed. She also has to find out why the Wild Hunt has  gone wrong and correct it. This book had a well-developed story line and characters. I give Urban Shaman 5/5 stars.

THE BEAST IN HIM BY SHELLY LAURENSTON

the beast in himbuyamzon-button-plainBook Description

         Publication Date:         April 1, 2008
In The Mane Event, Shelly Laurenston introduced a whole new breed of heroes—sexy, shape-shifting hunks who redefine the term Alpha male. Now, in THE BEAST IN HIM, one gorgeous lone wolf is about to meet his match…Some things are so worth waiting for. Like the moment when Jessica Ward “accidentally” bumps into Bobby Ray Smith and shows him just how far she’s come since high school. Back then, Jess’s gangly limbs and bruised heart turned to jelly any time Smitty’s “all the better to ravish you with” body came near her. So, some things haven’t changed. Except now Jess is a success on her own terms. And she can enjoy a romp—or twenty—with a big, bad wolf and walk away. Easy.

The sexy, polished CEO who hires Smitty’s security firm might be a million miles from the lovable geek he knew, but her kiss, her touch, is every bit as hot as he imagined. Jess was never the kind to ask for help, and she doesn’t want it now, not even with someone targeting her Pack. But Smitty’s not going to turn tail and run. Not before proving that their sheet-scorching animal lust is only the start of something even wilder…

I loved The Beast In Him, it was well written with well-developed characters and story line.  Anything Shelly Laurenston writes is a keeper. Smitty or Bobby Ray Smith and Jesse Ann have a past together. They have known each other while growing up. They were friends, and Smitty always came to her rescue when she was picked on and beat up. Now they meet again when Smitty’s company is doing the security for Jesse’s party which she is throwing for her company, in which she is CEO of a security system company.  He wants to be friends again and she does not want have anything to do with him.  Jesse has been in love with Smitty, but when he left town and did not even kiss her goodbye hurt her worse than anything could. Now he has to try to convince her that he wants her, and loves her. I loved all the chaos that Jesse Ann lives in, because she has no privacy or solitude to herself. There is always someone underfoot and it makes or some pretty humorous situations. There are parts where they are being attacked and there is some funny dialogue going on. Be warned  when you read this you will laugh quite a bit, so keep any liquids away from any electronic devices in case you spill your drink while laughing. I give The Beast In Him 5/5 stars.

WITCH HEART BK 3buynow

Book Description

         Publication Date:         January 6, 2009
Third in the Elemental Witch series from the national bestselling author
View our feature on Anya Bast’s Witch Heart.
Claire, a demon’s handmaiden, is rescued from enslavement by a handsome playboy. Now they’re both in danger of being captured by warlocks who are determined to harness Claire’s powers for evil.
I loved reading Witch Heart. The story line and characters were well-developed. The story draws you in and doesn’t let you go until the last page is read. Claire returns to the Earth realm where she was born, when she escapes the demon realm. She is on the run from those that have enslaved her, because she has stolen the Elium.  The Atrika demons want the Elium at all cost. Adam Tyrell is assigned to protect Claire by the Earth Witches. When Claire and Adam get together, Adam is very captivated by Claire. The sparks, and sexual tension between these  two is very hot. Adam will  sacrifice anything for Claire. I highly recommend this book and any of Anya Bast books. I give Witch Heart 4/5 stars.

I HAD A SCARE TODAY

This morning at around 5:30 a.m. I got up to go to the bathroom and my chest started hurting. I laid down, because my back was hurting also with it. It would not let up, and the pain continued to get worse. There was no pain in my left arm or jaw. I went to the kitchen to get an aspirin and my sister was there. She went to my mom’s room and got two baby aspirin. They were not doing nothing so my mom got me a regular aspirin and it helped. She took my blood pressure and it was very low(too low).

I check the antibiotic that I was taking to see what the side effect was, and it would cause chest pains. So now I know that I cannot take Azithromycin. I took my blood pressure 2 more times and it went back to normal. So far no more chest pains. I have never had chest pains before, that was the first time that I have ever had them. I take blood pressure pills to regulate my blood pressure. I will make sure to keep an eye on it so it does not get  low again. So I have been taking it easy, because I have to go to work tomorrow. I am not looking forward to working in the photo lab. I hate standing around and would rather be putting up freight.
