BOOK REVIEW – VISION IN SILVER BY ANNE BISHOP

Book Description
Publication Date: March 3, 2015
The New York Times bestselling author of The Black Jewels Trilogy transports readers to a world of magic and political unrest—where the only chance at peace requires a deadly price…

The Others freed the cassandra sangue to protect the blood prophets from exploitation, not realizing their actions would have dire consequences. Now the fragile seers are in greater danger than ever before—both from their own weaknesses and from those who seek to control their divinations for wicked purposes. In desperate need of answers, Simon Wolfgard, a shape-shifter leader among the Others, has no choice but to enlist blood prophet Meg Corbyn’s help, regardless of the risks she faces by aiding him.

Meg is still deep in the throes of her addiction to the euphoria she feels when she cuts and speaks prophecy. She knows each slice of her blade tempts death. But Others and humans alike need answers, and her visions may be Simon’s only hope of ending the conflict.

For the shadows of war are deepening across the Atlantik, and the prejudice of a fanatic faction is threatening to bring the battle right to Meg and Simon’s doorstep…

VISION IN SILVER is a true masterpiece! I love the world building in this book. The characters and storyline are well-developed. When Detective Montgomery’s daughter is threatened the Others help to keep Lizzy safe. When the HFL(Humans first and last) starts to cause more trouble the Others have to nip it in the butt. I love the characters in this series. They seem like family to me now. This book had me laughing and crying. I recommend this book to everyone. If you have not started this series I urge you to do so. VISION IN SILVER had me wanting more when I finished the book. Now I have to wait until the next book comes out. I give VISION IN SILVER 5/ 5 stars.

Shadow’s Cursehas a very well-developed story line and characters, with a very fast-paced, and action packed story. David St. Ledger is a shape-shifter and is cursed. He must drink a special elixir to stay alive. He meets Callista who is being forced into a marriage with a man who only wants her talent. She tries to run away, but is captured in an alley, and is rescued by David in the form of a wolf.  They team up together to find a cure for David, and he helps her to freedom to Scotland. This is a great combination of regency and paranormal, an I give it 4/5 stars.

BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON
This is the second installment in the Ann Bishop’s Other series, and like the last one it has its funny moments,. This book was much darker in tone than the last book WRITTEN IN RED. WRITTEN IN RED,was basically lighter and had more laugh out loud moments. It was basically dealing with Sam the nephew of Simon. MURDER OF CROWS is now dealing with someone who is tainting the food supply and the trash that the Crowgaurd like to go through for things that the humans throw away that are shiny and barely used or broken. When the crows eat the food they get to where they will not move out-of-the-way of people or cars, and many are killed. Meg has seen this in one of her prophecies.
More of the drug GONE OVER WOLF,and another drug. They have to find out who is doing this and stop it. Also Simon is starting to become jealous over Meg. He is thinking of her as his Meg, and he don’t want the other Terra Indigne thinking that he is acting more human than wolf. He is not quite sure how to deal with these feelings about Meg, and he knows that mating with a human is not possible. He is basically at a loss of what to do. Meg is also having to sort through her feelings about Simon. This was a great book to read, with a well-developed story line and characters.  I can’t wait to see if there will be more to this series. I love MURDER OF CROWS, and I give it 5/5 stars.

BITE ME BY SHELLY LAURENSTON BOOK REVIEW

SPOILERS ALERT , SPOILERS ALERT, SPOILERS ALERT, SPOILERS ALERT!!!!!!!

I WAS GIVEN A COPY OF THIS BOOK BY NETGALLEY FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.

Book Description

         Publication Date:         March 25, 2014
“Hot shape-shifters and even hotter passion.” —New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter Livy Kowalski has no time for idiots.  When you shapeshift into a honey badger, getting through life’s irritants is a finely honed skill. Until she gets stuck housing her nutso cousin and dealing with her dad’s untimely and unexplained demise. That’s where Vic Barinov comes in–or his house does. Vic can’t step outside without coming back to find Livy devouring his honey stash and getting the TV remote sticky. It gets his animal instincts all riled up. But he’ll have to woo her at high-speed: all hell is breaking loose, and Livy is leading the charge.  .  .BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZONI have been anticipating this book for a while, and it did not disappoint. As in true Shelly Laurenston form she delivers  the laughs, sarcasm and witty comments. Olivia “Livy” Kowalski has a family that is a tad bit crazy. They just don’t get that Livy wants to be a photographer and an artist instead of going into the family business. Here lately every time Vic Barinov  comes back in town he finds Livy in his house hiding in his cabinets naked eating all his honey. I thought this part was funny especially when the next door neighbor has set her sights on Vic. She has made him a lemon honey coffee cake. She takes the cake in his house so she can cut him a slice. When she opens the cabinet, she is attacked by Livey. When they ask her what happened, she tells them that she attacked her.”Who attacked you?””Her!”Now really confused, Vic walked to the cabinets over to his stainless steel refrigerator and opened one of the wood doors. Opened it and stared. .

(This part is really funny.)

A naked Livy Kowalski, comfortably curled up inside his cabinet, held out an open jar and softly asked, “African honey?”

Vic wanted to be angry. She broken into his home, eaten his honey, and attacked his neighbor. And yet….

Closing the cabinet door, Vic faced a raging Brittany.

“Brittany,” he began, “I am so sorry. This is all my fault.”

“Your Fault?”

“Well, I don’t allow her out of the cabinet without my permission.” Vic forced himself to keep his focus on a now-horrified Brittany because Shen and what he was sure was his reaction, but Shen was smart enough to turn away from them all.

“Your permission?” Brittany growled. “You keep a woman in your food cabinets?”

“It would be cruel to make her stay under the sink. She’s not that small.”

When I read this part in the book I just busted out laughing, then I had to read it to my niece and nephew. They asked me why I was laughing? This book has so many funny parts, especially with her honey badger family. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. If you want a good laugh, pick this book up. If I could give this book a 10 star rating I would, but the highest that I can go is 5 stars. So my rating for this book is 5/5 stars.

When this book comes out on March 25,2014 run out, or log on to your favorite book store at buy it right away. You will not be disappointed.

Here is a reading order of her Magnus Pack and Pride stories.

BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON.

Lou “Crush” Crushek is being transferred to be partnered up with Dez and her police force. Crush has never liked change until Marcella “Cella” Malone, enforcer for the shifter hockey team, and contractor for KZS, entered his life.  She turned his quiet bear life upside down. These two are complete opposites. Cella likes a good down and dirty bare-knuckle brawl, and Crush likes a quite day at home. When you put these two together you have chaos, and sexy, hot scenes. In BEAR MEETS GIRL, the characters and story line are well-developed. In true Shelly Laurenston fashion, you have the snappy dialogue, witt, and sarcastic humor. There is some laugh out loud moments. I never get tired of reading a Shelly Laurenston book. I loved BEAR MEETS GIRL, and I give it 4/5 stars.

Don’t forget on March 25, 2014 Bite Me (The Pride Series) will be released. I was fortunate to be given an ARC copy of this book, Review forthcoming, and all I have to say at the moment is you will love it. There seems to be a lot more humor in BITE ME, THAT I FOUND MYSELF LAUGHING IN THE BREAKROOM AT WORK A LOT MORE THAN USUAL. JUST BE PREPARED.
