THE REFLECTIONS OF QUEEN SNOW WHITE BY DAVID MEREDITH

THE REFLECTIONS OF SNOW WHITE

Book Description

         Publication Date:         October 2, 2013
What happens when “happily ever after” has come and gone?
On the eve of her only daughter, Princess Raven’s wedding, an aging Snow White finds it impossible to share in the joyous spirit of the occasion. The ceremony itself promises to be the most glamorous social event of the decade. Snow White’s castle has been meticulously scrubbed, polished and opulently decorated for the celebration. It is already nearly bursting with jubilant guests and merry well-wishers. Prince Edel, Raven’s fiancé, is a fine man from a neighboring kingdom and Snow White’s own domain is prosperous and at peace. Things could not be better, in fact, except for one thing:
The king is dead.
The queen has been in a moribund state of hopeless depression for over a year with no end in sight. It is only when, in a fit of bitter despair, she seeks solitude in the vastness of her own sprawling castle and climbs a long disused and forgotten tower stair that she comes face to face with herself in the very same magic mirror used by her stepmother of old.
It promises her respite in its shimmering depths, but can Snow White trust a device that was so precious to a woman who sought to cause her such irreparable harm? Can she confront the demons of her own difficult past to discover a better future for herself and her family? And finally, can she release her soul-crushing grief and suffocating loneliness to once again discover what “happily ever after” really means?
Only time will tell as she wrestles with her past and is forced to confront The Reflections of Queen Snow White.
BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON
I was given this book for an honest review.
When I first received this book I was kind of Leary of reading it. It is not what I normally read, but from the first page it pulled me in. The characters and the story development was very well done. We actually get a look at Snow White’s life in a way never presented to us before. The story basically starts out with Snow White taking care of court business an d going over details for her daughter Raven’s wedding. It has been a year since Prince Charming has passed away and she is still feeling the pain of his passing. She leaves the court to take some time for herself, and goes up to queen Arglist’s  (the evil step-mother) room and discovers the magic mirror. The mirror shows her the past, and what the queen had done to her when her father had died, the abuse she was given at the hand of the queen. How every time those loyal to Snow White  gave her a kind hand or a crumb o food they were banished for this. It reflects on how she met Prince Charming, and their marriage. How she had to become a strong queen and woman. How in her grief she was not only hurting herself, she was also pushing away the one person who also needed her. Her daughter Raven, she was also grieving for her father. At the end Snow White realizes this, that her daughter also needs her mother. Not only because she has lost her father but because she is about to be married. In this Snow White can impart her knowledge, where as she had no one to show her or teach her about marriage or what to expect from the marriage act. At least now her daughter will have a mother.
I really loved this book , it was written beautifully.  We can actually use this book to reflect on our own life. When we look into the mirror, what do we see? Only we can answer this question. We actually have to look really deep inside ourselves, to truly see the person hidden within. For we actually have buried our true self so deep that we actually don’t know who we are anymore. So maybe we need to reflect into the mirror and see who we are more often, so we don’t lose sight of who we are. I give  The Reflections Of Queen Snow White 5/5 stars, for some of the best writing I have read in a long time. If you have not read it, I recommend that you do so today. You will not be disappointed.
