HARD TO HANDLE – REVIEW

hard to handle coverFrom New York Times bestselling author Christine Warren comes Hard to Handle, the fifth book in her Gargoyles series about a tale that is as old as time…and a love as strong as stone.

The only male among four sisters, Michael Drummond is no stranger to women’s strength and formidable will. But when a fierce woman warrior from another realm bursts into his life, bringing with her a battle between good and evil, Michael is overcome by an explosive dose of desire that only this stunningly beautiful woman can inspire.

The first and only of her kind, Ash is a lone female gargoyle, a creature destined to protect mankind from Demons determined to unleash their darkest forces.
But her bone-deep instinct to do battle is turned off-kilter by her untamed attraction to the dangerously handsome human she can’t stay away from. If they manage to keep the world safe, can they turn the passion crackling between them into a love that will withstand the test of time?

But the burning desire she ignites in him is even harder to fight-an all-consuming force that, once unleashed, can never be tamed. As their passion grows, so do the ranks of a demonic army plotting to take over the earth. Rocked by Love (Gargoyles Series) is a snarky, wild ride. Kylie is a computer genius, but when one of her friends come up missing she goes out of her way to find out what happens. When her friend’s sister finally has him declared dead, she knows something is not right. When Kylie is chased through a park past a gargoyle statue, Dag awakens from his slumber. Kylie thinks she is going crazy, when the gargoyle she went past suddenly comes to life. This is a steamy, rollicking good time. I love this series and this book. Christine Warren is a master storyteller.  I give ROCKED BY LOVE 5/5 STARS.

From bestselling author Christine Warren comes a thrilling new series about

a young woman caught between a rock and a hard place—between gargoyles and demons…

Ella Harrow is trying to carve out a normal life for herself. Well, as normal as an art geek with psychic abilities can hope for. As museum docent and gift-shop manager, Ella is able to keep her distance from people—and her powers in check—while surrounding herself with the artifacts she loves. But how on earth is she supposed to act normal when a thousand-year-old statue on the museum’s terrace suddenly comes to life?

HEART OF STONE

Not your ordinary gargoyle, Kees has been asleep for eons, waiting for a portent of evil to wake him from his slumber. Kees isn’t a vision; he’s a bat-winged guardian created to protect the world from the seven demons of the Dark. Somehow, Ella triggered his reawakening. Maybe the demons have been unleashed? Maybe his heart is finally ready to be chiseled open? The fate of the world isn’t carved in stone… yet.

I was given a copy through Netgalley for an honest review,

Christine Warren knows how to draw you into a story and make the unbelievable, believable. Heart of Stone was well-developed, with a storyline and characters that were believable. Ella has magical abilities that she does not know how to control and she keeps hidden from everyone. She works in a museum and is still tormented over the death of her parents, because she believes she killed them with her uncontrolled magic as a kid. She has always liked the gargoyle in the garden at the museum, and when it suddenly comes to life to rescue her from someone with evil intentions, her life will never be the same. Kees is one of the Gaurdians that are to protect mankind from evil and  the seven demons who are part of a group called the Nocturnis. He has to protect Ella from them, for they want her particular magic to summon the seven demons, and then be able to summon the Darkness. The more Kees is with Ella shows him that he is capable of emotions, and especially love. That his heart is not completely made of stone. The more Ella is with him he shows her one night when she believes the night her parents died, he shows her that she did not kill her parents It was the drunk driver who swerved into their lane. This book had a lot of action and emotional aha moments that  helped to move the story along. I really enjoyed it and cannot wait until the next one. I give HEART OF STONE 5/5 STARS.

REVIEW FOR “DRIVE ME WILD” BY CHRISTINE WARREN

Product Details

Tess Menzies can work a spell with a few blinks of her baby blue eyes. But this dedicated witch can’t summon up a single good reason she’s been made an envoy between her kind and Manhattan’s fiercest were-creatures. The two sides haven’t spoken in four hundred years, and she’ll need every miracle in the book to broker any kind of truce. And that means outwitting Council of Others leader Rafael De Santos whose tantalizing moves and fierce hungry kisses are magic even a formidable sorceress can’t resist . . .

It doesn’t take a cat’s supernatural senses for Rafael to suspect that there’s something strange about this unexpected peace-offering. And finding the truth is just as tempting as uncovering the secrets Tess is trying to conceal. Why, she’s tantalizing enough to make this wandering were-jaguar think he’s found the perfect mate—one he’s only dreamed of. But his stealth and her spells can’t guarantee they have a chance at survival, much less a future together…

BOOK DESCRIPTION COURTESY OF AMAZON

Like all of Christine Warren’s paranormal romance books, The Others Series, they all have a humorous twist. She knows how to deliver the right amount of wit and sarcasm in a story. The story with Rapael and Tess will take you on a roller coaster ride that will have you laughing and wanting more. Rafael believes he has found his perfect mate, but convincing Tess is another story. Tess has no clue why her Grandfather has sent her to deliver a message to The Council of Others,  but she know it is not a peace-offering and it could ruin her chance at a future with Rafael.

I loved this book, and the characters. Tess came off an inept witch, but I think in the end she ended up growing as a character. So I gave it a 4/ 5 stars.
