REVIEW- UNEXPECTED BY LILLY AVALON

unexpected
Ever had one of those days? Alina Lyons is having one. Everything keeps falling apart and going wrong. Just when she thinks it couldn’t get worse, it does. After a case of mistaken identity and a broken heart, she finds herself questioning the things she thought she knew. She wonders who she can turn to or trust anymore.

An unlikely bond with her former best friend‘s ex, Ryan Wilcox, sends her life in a new direction. He offers her a place to stay while she gets her life back on track. His friendship is exactly what she’s been missing—what she’s been needing. Alina’s never felt this alive. As time goes by, the dynamic of their relationship becomes more than either of them expected. A few innocent kisses could lead them in a new direction, but are they prepared for what’s on the other side?

Only one way to find out.

UNEXPECTED is a sexy, hot read. I fell in love with the characters of Ryan and Alina, they are good for each other. Alina has just received news from her boyfriend that he wants a break from their relationship. She cannot get a break from the crappy day that she is having, she is late going in for work and ends up losing her job. She goes back to the apartment that she shares with her friend and takes a shower.  While she is in the shower, someone joins her.  Thinking it is her boyfriend they start to have shower sex, until she finds out it is her roommates boyfriend. They both find out that their boyfriend and girlfriend are having an affair with each other.

So Alina and Ryan go out and get drunk together. Ryan takes her to her place to stay, because she is moving out of her place. Now with her staying with Ryan, it starts to get interesting. The characters and story line is very well-developed, and I recommend this book to everyone. Lilly Avalon is a writer that I will keep my eye on and her books on my to be read pile. I give UNEXPECTED 5/5 STARS.

She’s a woman of her word.

TROUBLE WHEN YOU WALKED IN is a sweet love story. The characters and story line are well-developed. I loved the characters of Cissie and Boone. Boone is the Mayor, and High school football coach, and Cissie is the local librarian. When Boone walks in the library and lets Cissie know that they are moving the library to the strip mall between the two towns, sparks start to fly. She has a sit in at the library to protest this move.  She did not want to lose out in finding her soul mate if the library moves. The legend tells that you will meet your soul mate when he crosses the threshold of the library and he will be from a different town. Things really get in a pickle when a storm brings down the tree in Cissie’s yard and it comes down on her house. Now her Nana and her have to find a place to stay until the house is rebuilt. They take the offer and things get interesting when Cissie decides to run for Mayor. I loved this book, it was sweet with a little humor thrown in. I recommend this book to everyone and I give TROUBLE WHEN YOU WALKED IN 5/5 STARS.

REVIEW- Boots and the Rogue (Ugly Stick Saloon) Kindle Edition by MYLA JACKSON

boots and the rogue
There’s more than one way to feed a hungry man.

Ugly Stick Saloon, Book 10

Brody McFarlan left home eight years ago after he and his younger brother had a falling-out over a girl. When a frantic phone call sends him racing home, he’s astounded to learn the truth. Mom isn’t sick, she’s threatening to sell the ranch—unless he and his brothers get busy settling down.

With Mom on strike, Brody uneasily settles in to help—and find a replacement cook before he starves.

Fired from her last job, Jessie Taylor is forced to ride out on her horse, leaving her car behind. Hot, tired and homeless, she stumbles onto the Ugly Stick Saloon, grateful to pick up a spatula in trade for a burger to fill her belly and a much-needed rest for her road-weary mount.

One bite of Jessie’s tasty burger, and Brody offers the rough-and-tumble blonde a job and a stall. It doesn’t hurt that she’s sexy as hell, and he hungers for a taste of her sweet pink mouth. The only bur under his saddle is the grudge he still carries…and the fear that his brother will once again swoop in to steal the pretty filly right out from under him.

Warning: Burning hunger lights fires in the kitchen, the barn, the pasture, and more when another McFarlan brother bites the romantic dust in the sexiest possible way.

REVIEW- THROUGH HIS LENS BY

through his lens
Newly divorced and rediscovering her place in the world, Fiona found a strange solace in taking photos of herself. Next step: she hired a professional photographer to take her portraits. Modelling for him felt empowering. Would this be only a one-time thing or would she have the courage to pursue a relationship with Nathan, the photographer whose green eyes captivate and disarm her?

Note: Explicit sex scenes. Adult material intended for readers aged 18+.

THROUGH HIS LENS  is a very good book. With only 45 pages it pack a lot in such a short amount of pages. The characters and story line are well-developed. Fiona has just signed the divorce papers that ended her marriage, but her marriage was over long ago. They had become distant from each other and it was only a matter of time before it was to end. They had married young and thought they would be together forever. Now she has to see who she is without him.  She starts to take pictures of herself with her phone, and finds out she enjoys it. She ends up hiring her wedding photographer to take some boudoir pictures. She never thought she would find someone this fast again. THROUGH HIS LENS is a sensual book of self discovery after divorce, and I give it 4/5 stars. This book was over way too soon and I wanted more. I recommend this book to everyone, and I will be watching out for more of her books.
