  1. I just realized that some of my comments could be called Spoilers. Feel free to mark them if you want, or just to delete that part. I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone. Sorry!

  2. Thanks for the reblog, Jennifer! I absolutely LOVED this book, in case there was any lingering doubt. 😀 I’d put stars all the way across the page, if I could.

    • You’re Welcome. I will have to check it out. I just finished THE WINTER LONG by SEANAN McGuire. I loved it.

      • Hope you like it. It’s probably not for everybody. But nobody writes like Maggie Stiefvater, and the search for Glendower is wonderful. Not to mention the greywaren. And so much more.

I LOVED The Winter Long. The end was totally unexpected to me. In the best way. . (And the beginning, and the middle. 🙂 )

I’m over halfway through The Witch With No Name, and I have very mixed feelings about this book. Some things I love, but there are quite a few things I don’t, and a couple I hate. (I do not like Ivy Tamwood, for one. She has always seemed manipulative and selfish to me, so I’m never thrilled when she plays a big part. I hate the vamps in this series, anyway. I much prefer the story lines dealing with the demons, etc.) I wish Trent weren’t just holding Rachel’s hand, and keeping quiet about what she does that he doesn’t like. I get that he’s supporting her, but it is a bit emasculating, in some scenes. So, as usual with this series, I think the book is flawed, but fun, and I’m happy they are a couple, but tired of every other thought in Rache’s head being about how it can’t work. A lot of whining there, but that’s kind of typical of her personality, over all. Ooops. This is turning into a review. Sorry! I’ll get to that soon enough, I reckon.

Thanks again for the reblog, and I hope you enjoy this series. Have you read The Scorpio Races? It’s fantastic.

      • Don’t worry, things will work out in WWNN. You will get your wish with the demons, they do make an appearance. The book gets better towards the end. 😉

      • I’m far enough along to see that the demons are wanting to be free, and that Al (a huge favorite of mine) is coming around. And I can see that it is probably going to be fine between Rachel & Trent, which is my main wish, of course. But it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if every one of those vamps walked into the sun. I can’t stand any of them. I’ll take the elves and demons over them, any day. And the weres are okay, too, for as little as they show up. I want to smack Rachel up beside the head, though. She always says, “I knew I shouldn’t do it,” and then she does it, and then all hell breaks loose, and she complains about it. GAH. I know characters have to get themselves into trouble, in order for them to have problems to solve, but do they have to do it so willingly? 😀

      • I know, but it wouldn’t be Rachel if she didn’t. The end will make up for it, and will have you smiling. Kim Harrison wrote a short book where Al gets the last word in, it is called Sudden Backtrack: A Hollows Short . So you will have more Al after WWNN. 🙂

      • Good Point. I guess even though I have a love/hate relationship with her at times, Kim Harrison has done something right. I’m still reading after all these books, and I’m NOT one to continue any series if I don’t really like it. So she’s maybe more flawed than I would like, but it does make her more real, too. I’ve read a short story featuring Al, but not the novella. I should definitely get it. While I did NOT see him as a romantic interest for Rachel, I really have enjoyed him, and have always known he had a soft spot in his heart for her. (I couldn’t believe Trent had to point that out to her!)

Did you get the Hollows Insider? If not, you should. It is one of the most clever books I’ve ever seen. The effect is like a scrapbook, sort of, with all sorts of things taped into it, like receipts, etc. And character definitions, and police reports, etc. I had her sign it when she was in Fort Myers about a year and a half ago. She was very nice, btw, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing her, and the Q&A session she & Jeaniene Frost did.
