Book Description

 Publication Date:        August 31, 2010
ACROSS TWO EXTRAORDINARY WORLDS, TRUTH IS THE DEADLIEST MAGIC   Gifted with an uncanny intuition, Lara Jansen nonetheless thinks there is nothing particularly special about her. All that changes when a handsome but mysterious man enters her quiet Boston tailor shop and reveals himself to be a prince of Faerie. What’s more, Dafydd ap Caerwyn claims that Lara is a truthseeker, a person with the rare talent of being able to tell truth from falsehood. Dafydd begs Lara to help solve his brother’s murder, of which Dafydd himself is the only suspect.
Acting against her practical nature, Lara agrees to step through a window into another world. Caught between bitterly opposed Seelie forces and Dafydd’s secrets, which are as perilous as he is irresistible, Lara finds that her abilities are increasing in unexpected and uncontrollable ways. With the fate of two worlds at stake and a malevolent entity wielding the darkest of magic, Lara and Dafydd will risk everything on a love that may be their salvation—or the most treacherous illusion of all.

I loved the world building in Truthseeker. Also the storyline and character development was well-developed.   This is truly a refreshing story than I normally read. Lara is a tailor and is able to tell if you are telling a lie. When Laura meets Dafydd he tells her he needs her to go back with him to try to clear his name of his brother’s murder. Though he did let loose the arrow that did kill him, he was under a compulsion spell that he could not resist and had to kill his brother. Now he needs her help in finding who had put that spell on him and they will find out who wanted his brother dead. The longer she is in Faerie the more her power grows and the more lies they have to slowly unravel. There is treachery at every corner and they do not know who to trust. This is truly a great start to a new series, and I give it 4/5 stars.
