Joanne Walker has three days to learn to use her shamanic powers and save the world from the unleashed Wild Hunt.
No worries. No pressure. Never mind the lack of sleep, the perplexing new talent for healing herself from fatal wounds, or the cryptic, talking coyote who appears in her dreams.
And if all that’s not bad enough, in the three years Joanne’s been a cop, she’s never seen a dead body–but she’s just come across her second in three days.
It’s been a bitch of a week.
And it isn’t over yet.

I loved this book and series. It is a great start to an urban fantasy series. It blends native myths and Celtic mythology  in a way that draws you into the book and k

eeps you wanting more. The story starts out with Joanne coming home from Ireland from her mother’s funeral that she has not seen since she was a baby, when she sees a woman being attacked from the plane. She tries to let someone know what she saw but no one believes that she saw it from the plane. So she investigates it herself and meets the Wild Hunt. Here is where the action really takes off and it is a roller coaster ride from then on. She battles the master of the Wild Hunt Cerunnuos and almost dies. She has to use her Shaman abilities to heal herself and also try to master her new-found abilities before she gets killed. She also has to find out why the Wild Hunt has  gone wrong and correct it. This book had a well-developed story line and characters. I give Urban Shaman 5/5 stars.
