Laura Baker moves to Colten Nelson’s ranch to work off a debt to Andy as his assistant. She also moved to the ranch so she would not be a crutch for her sister anymore, and let her deal with her own mistakes for a change.
Colten was twenty-eight when he won the lottery, and since the he has a hard time trusting any woman . For if any women do start taking a shine to him he always thinks that they are after his money. After being drugged and almost carried away by a woman wanting a sugar daddy, his staff lays out a plan for him that will stop the ladies from trying to take him to the altar.
They tell Laura and Colten that they should tell everyone that they are engaged, and that they have been seeing each other for a while. They agree to the plan, and announce to the town that they are engaged. They are seen going out on dates and local functions. As they get to know each other feelings grow a little more deeper. He starts to think to himself whether or not that Laura’s feelings are true or is she just after his money just like all the rest.
This is such a great story, with some great characters. There are sometimes that you want to take Colten and Laura and just Shake them and say “Open your damn eyes you idiot.”
So I give this book a 5/5 stars for the laugh factor.
