REVIEW FOR “CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT” BY SEANAN McGUIRE

This is the 7th installment in her October Daye Novels, and just might be her best one yet. the main characters October “Toby” Daye, Quenten her squire, and Tybalt the local King of Cats who she has finally has allowed herself to grow closer to. They try and find out who is supplying goblin fruit to the local changeling population that is killing them. When they finally take the problem to the Queen of the Mist, Toby’s efforts are met with harsh reprisals and a sentence of exile from her home when she finds out that the Queen is supplying the goblin fruit. She only has three days to clear out of the Queen’s lands before she is arrested.

Toby now has to try and reverse the Queen’s decree, get the goblin fruit off the street, and save her own life in the process. She also, has to find the rightful Queen of the Mist. For the current one that is sitting on the throne is an imposter.

This story was a rollercoaster ride from start to finish. October “Toby” Daye is my favorite character in this book, for you never know what she will do next. Her wit and charisma just draw you to her. I would recommend this story and this series by this author. I give it 5*****.
